How to charge the battery if the power input is damaged?

The decision-making power on my 4070CDT satellite was damaged and the laptop will no longer take power or charge the battery from this socket. (Attempts to re - solder the joint damaged power detection circuits!)

Does anyone know if I can feed the appropriate voltage (10.8 v?) to the battery contacts in the battery casing to keep the laptop going, and if so, which comes into contact with and what tolerance on the voltage?

(Application of 12v through the + ve and a particular contact - EV seems to persuade the power management software, it runs on sector without battery, but after 20 seconds the laptop turns off.)

Any ideas? Thank you.

Hello

In my opinion to do something like that, you have to be an expert and know very well the construction of the motherboard and electronic load.

Sorry, but I don't see a great chance to do that successfully. Try to contact the Service partner. Perhaps, they can give you a useful tip.

Good luck!

    Hi Dave,.

You have the "Toshiba common Modules" installed? They must first of all for many models of Toshiba, and power settings module is an add-on for that.

If you do not have the appropriate restoration or the utility CD handy, the drivers can be downloaded from the Web from Toshiba website.

I hope this helps, let us know how you go

    Hello

What you can do, for the purposes of simulation, is to use the RESISTOR_RATED component (find under the Basic, the RATED_VIRTUAL family group). It is a component of interactive virtual resistance you can use and set the maximum power. If the power is exceeded, it will show you an animation when this happens.

    Hello

I suggest the following methods and check if it helps.

Method 01:10 tips to help improve your wireless network

    http://www.Microsoft.com/athome/Setup/wirelesstips.aspx#fBid=poyhbeDlRAP

    Method 2:

    (a) plug your modem wireless on one of the USB ports on your laptop computer and if necessary, turn on the modem.

    (b) right click on the "Network" icon in the lower right of the desktop and select "Connect to a network." Wireless modem will now be recognized as a network card.

    (c) right click on the name of your wireless modem and choose "connect".

    (d) enter the user name and password of the account that you put in place with the wireless modem provider.

    (e) specify whether you want the wireless modem to automatically connect to Internet or not. You can choose to have the modem connects automatically, unless you are in a roaming area.

    (f) press "Continue" to complete the configuration of the wireless modem and start using it as a wireless adapter.

  • How to change the power supply to the CD/DVD drive so that it is disabled by default?

When running on battery I often use the icon 'Remove hardware safely' XP to 'unplug' the carpet * CD/DVD drive for Safe some battery life. (Does?) I use Fn + Tab to bring back to life. I wonder if there is a way to make my boot Notebook (M400) with the power supply to the reader off by default. Thanks in advance for your help.

    Hello, Robert

If you see the start page, you will see that this support forum is not a type of support Toshiba directly but forum users. But you're not alone and many users expect that a Toshiba support team sit in the office and before writing the answers.

In any case, there are many users of Toshiba laptops with very good knowledge and also amateurs who are trying to help the other guys in different problems and also to share own experience.

Professionalism is not the forum but action when you need help because of physical damage or something similar. If you need assistance and competent answers each authorized partner must be able to provide the info you need. But please don t mixture and Toshiba service partner because it is not the same.

In any case, I found the info you can use additional (second battery expansion) and it takes batteries with PA3510U-1BAL, PA3510U-1BRL room numbers. I can't tell you how much it costs, but you will find only using Google.

Back to your first question: if I understand you just want to save more power and because of this, you want to sign out ODD. It's a nice idea, but you have clearly misunderstood something. "Safely Remove Hardware option is there to help the operating system and and say this material, a part will be removed and don t exist anymore, but it does not physically the disconnection of any other material."

If you need more power use a second battery and enjoy your life.

If you have any other questions you are welcome. A lot of users here M400 and I hope in the future that some of them will participate in a little more.

    Good day! :)

  • PSA 30F satellite: how to fix the power connector?

    Hello

I need to open my PSA Satellite 30F to correct a bad concection in the power conector. Does anyone have a description about how to access this conector? I know that this is the problem and not the AC adapter. The computer is out of warranty, so I'll try to fix it myself. The computer store told me I had to replace the whole motherboard and which would cost me $ 800, Yes!

    Hello

Well, the problem is that I don't know if the power Jack is soldered on the laptop or only connected m.
If it s only connected so you can remove all parts, covers, motherboard and then somewhere, you should find the power jack.
But if it s welded so it's not easy to replace. You should have a very good experience in electronics to fix.

    Check these jacks;
    http://www.laptopking.com/partpicture_LK.asp?ref=404&category=dcjack

However, there is no official document s how replace this Jack. I guess the Toshiba service partner in your country can give you more details.

    Good luck

It seems you need to remove the bottom case at least to get access to the DC Jack.  You may need to remove more pieces to remove it.  The p/n DC Jack is A-1609-073-A and can be ordered through Sony parts @ 800-488-7669 (US models).
