How to clean a plastic bezel brilliant on Y410P?

Hi all

I recently bought Y410P, and it's been great to use. However, after a few days of use, the bezel is full of oil, fingerprints and dust, so I would like to clean it up. My question is how to restore the great shinny bezel brilliant and clean, without leaving marks or scratches.

I've owned a computer with the same type of bezel before this lenovo, and he got scratches very easily after that I wiped it off with a soft Microfiber. I won't make the same mistake this time, please someone give me a hint or something.

Any response is appreciated. Thank you.

Hi theamaguri,

Welcome to the Community Forums of Lenovo!

Using a soft cloth can also cause scratches in the computer, here is the link where you have steps to keep your computer clean from scratches.

Hope this helps!

  • Satellite L350-24U: how to clean the keyboard after having poured orange juice

    Hello out there.
I spilled my L350-24U with Orange juice.
    Now, I have 4 keys to self-retaining :-(

Can someone tell me how to clean the keyboard without damaging the laptop?

    Thanks in advance.

Hmm, it's still a stupid situation
Usually you can remove the keyboard of the laptop very easily.
The keyboard is fixed with screws hidden under thin plastic cover near the line of F1 - F12 key.

If you would remove plastic this cover then you would be able to remove the screws as well. Then you could lift the keyboard carefully and could disconnect the flat cable of the keyboard and the motherboard.

Notes; two small latches on both sides of the connector must be moved in order to disconnect the cable.

Then you could remove the keyboard and could clean it with a damp lint.
PS: the caps can be removed too.
But be very careful. You must raise the CAP to get it for free.

It of possible to remove only the plastic of the keyboard keys.

Then you can try using a vacuum cleaner and could thoroughly clean dust and debris from the keyboard.

  • DeskJet 960C has large amount of ink used, how to clean

When changing to a black cartridge, I notice that on the right side of the printer, under where to park the heads, there is a huge backlog of old used ink. Everything I read tell me just to clean the cartridges and the birthplace, in that they are required and nothing else. But I think I'll eventually get a lot of smears. There are really a lot of goo out there!

Y at - it guides to how to clean this area?

The advice I would give - leave it alone.  The gas station is designed to hold the excess ink, and the movement of the capping station is designed to flatten the mound if it becomes too large.  It is best to leave the service area only to avoid damage and/or a mess.

If the root ball is difficult to handle you can empty the mound of ink with a plastic spoon.  Be very careful not to drop it on the desktop, carpets or furniture.

Often excessive ink in the service area is caused by the cleaning cycles too often running.  Cartridges 45 and 78 is rarely necessary to have a cleaning cycle run - usually less than once during the life of the cartridge.

Another cause of excess in the gas station would be if an external switch is used to turn off the printer.  An example would be a Director of switch or power output.  This would cause an extra maintenance to occur when the printer is turned on.  In order to minimize maintenance using ink leave the printer plugged into an active outlet at all times and only use power switch of the printer to turn off the printer.

  • How to clean of the Mac server permissions issue

I'll have some very frustrating problems with permissions in the Group shared on mac server folders. When I create a new set of permissions at the top of the folder hierarchy and spread so it seems just create another copy permissions in all folders under the root rather than deleting the previous permissions and write those I want to set up. In other words, I end up with several sets of permissions by user for each folder and file.

So the question I'm asking is how to clean all these permissions to all folders and files and start again?

The main issues I'm having, it's that I have even with full administrative rights'm get denied permission to open files and save them to the server.

My server is running OS X El Capitan 10.11.4, version 5.1 Server mac

The simplest (and usually faster) is to clean up you permissions to use the chmod of the Terminal command.  If your ACL multiply in an uncontrolled manner (please not that some versions of Office for Windows, used to cause this) you can quickly delete all the ACL, and then start again.  To do this, follow these steps:

1: stop all services of files to ensure that no one is change data while you work on it.

2: remove all ACLs by using this command (replace with the actual path to the data):

    sudo chmod-r n/path/to/your/share

This will remove all the ACLs for all files and folders/path/to/your/share and recurse to everything in the folder.

Now, if you think that your POSIX permissions are Leech, you can also reset this with two orders of the handle.  To restore all standard directories umask, use:

    sudo find/path/to/your/share-type d - exec chmod 755 ().

To restore all files standard umask, use:

    sudo find/path/to/your/share-type f-exec chmod 644 ().

Note: Your permissions model may be more restrictive and some workflows rely on the limitation by POSIX.  If so, these commands do not be what you want.

And there you have it.  The three commands above can remove all ACLs and set all folders to 755 (drwxr-xr-x) and all files to 644 (- rw - r - r-).

Once you reset data, return to Server.app > sharing or.app > server > storage and assign your permissions.

  • How to clean the dirt hard on coverage of the mac?

Hello guys.  I have a mac here, which I use for work.  Hands may become very sales sometimes which is how dirt happens on my mac.  The cover of the screen, where the apple logo is, where it's the dirtiest.  I tried to clean it with a nonabrasive cloth with wet water, no luck there.  If I had to use my finger and keep rubbing, would come out a bit of dirt but that would take forever.  Anyone of you have a better solution on how to clean this rough dirt of my coverage?  Apple offered no use of solvents, sprays or abrasives to clean.  I would like to have the lid nice and clean without damaging the sweetness of the coverage.  Thanks for reading!

You could spray a mist of iKlear on a cotton cloth.

There have been reports of this iKlear damage some of the coating of screen initially on retina patterns-

No report of it damaging the aluminum housing.

    Hi there @antonio55,

That the Forums are with you!  I understand that you are looking for advice on how to clean your screen.  I'm happy to give you a helping hand with this.

Please see: HP monitors - Safety and Maintenance Guidelines, under the heading "Cleaning the monitor" for details of cleaning, but be sure to read both safety related information.  Depending on what you mean by "halos" try following the instructions for the materials to be used. If you have in the past used something on the list of cleaning products do not turn out to serve, you may have already damaged a part of the screen.

Please let me know if it works for you and if it does not solve your problem, please mark this message as a solution. Bravo would be appreciated as well.

  • Portege R630 - how to clean cooling system?

I've had my Portege R630 for a few months now and I love it. HOWEVER! Small snag. I live is a House with 3 other people and it gets pretty dusty. Not really bad, but I'm not going to lie it's almost clinical environment. Now, my R630 started having what I think is 'too hot' for processing power used.

Currently, my CPU usage is between 10 and 20% according to time and PC Health Monitor, my system CPU are 60% and my fan runs at 50-60%. My system has the Core i3 2.53gHz processor, unusually warm for the system?

And if my guess is so dust is linked. But how to clean the radiator on it? It's not really normal. I can get my hands on a can of compressed air, but because the fan is so far away from the CPU, the dust could be everywhere on this side of the laptop. What is the best way to get clean?

    Thank you very much!

    Hello

Cleaning of the cooling system is not complicated. All you need is to jet of compressed air that you can buy from every computer store I think.

Before to start the cleaning procedure remove the AC/DC adapter and battery. Turn the laptop around, then blow air gently and shortly into the holes in the case. This will blow out the dust.
As you can see is very easy and it of not necessary to disassemble the laptop.

  • Equium A60-155: how to clean the fan?

This isn't a problem as such, more than one request. How do you clean the fan? A litle while ago my laptop kept turning off itself, and it turned out to be part of the problem I the fan was clogged so I was wondering if anyone knew how to clean so I can myself sorting in case it happens again. Thanx

    Hi Jemma,

The problem is that dust is sucked into the fans and is then trapped in the radiator CPU effectively blocks.

A good way os compensation this accumulation of dust is to use a hose of vacuum cleaner against the aspiration air grills so that dust is sucked in. Just put the hose against the grids of aspiration air for a few seconds and block any gaps around the pipe with a cloth.

    Kind regards
