How to close multiple windows of firefox (not mulitple tabs)

I often have several internet messaging Windows Open (often each window has several tabs). I would like to be able to leave all the windows with just a single closure of firefox. Currently, I can close each window with multiple tabs with a single large. I would like to extend this to several windows (each with several tabs).
I just right click on its icon in the Solution Explorer, and one of the options is to "close all windows", and that's all. I would like to see this option available in firefox. Thank you

Hi pyramidpower, you can go to the firefox menu and press the exit button to close all firefox windows open at the same time...

Yes, we can open several tabs, but cannot get more than 1 session running at the same time.

    Hello

Try Firefox Safe mode to see if the problem goes away. Safe mode is a troubleshooting mode, which disables most of the modules.

(If you use it, switch to the default theme).

    • Under Windows, you can open Firefox 4.0 + in Safe Mode holding the key SHIFT key when you open the desktop Firefox or shortcut in the start menu.
    • On Mac, you can open Firefox 4.0 + in Safe Mode holding the key option key when starting Firefox.
    • Under Linux, you can open Firefox 4.0 + with leaving Firefox then go to your Terminal and running Safe Mode: firefox-safe-mode (you may need to specify the installation path of Firefox for example/usr/lib/firefox)
    • Or open the Help menu and click on the restart with the disabled... modules menu item while Firefox is running.

Once you get the pop-up, simply select "" boot mode safe. "

If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to understand that one. To do this, please follow article Troubleshooting extensions, themes and problems of hardware acceleration to resolve common Firefox problems .

To exit safe mode of Firefox, simply close Firefox and wait a few seconds before you open Firefox for normal use again.

    Applies to:
    Oracle Forms - Version: 10.1.2.2.0 to 11.1
Information in this document applies to any platform.
    Goal
This document will describe how to close the browser window (without confirmation of the user) who was responsible for starting a session of forms.
    IMPORTANT:
The sample program in this article is provided for educational purposes only and is NOT supported by Oracle Support Services. It has been tested internally, however and works as described. We do not guarantee it will work for you, so be sure to test it in your environment before relying on it.
The code in this document uses Java Scripting to achieve his goal. If the client computer does not have Java script active or is blocked, this code will not work correctly. In addition, although this document was written as it applies to Oracle Forms, the functionality of the browser and how Java Script responds that it contains, is not related to the product forms. If, for some reason this code does not work for you, the problem is probably the result of changes (for example, updates) made by the supplier of the browser, or a client configuration that prevents the correct execution of the Java Script code. These problems are not related to the Oracle product and you should refer to the manuals of browser or Java script repository to debug the problem.
This code has been successfully tested with Oracle Forms 10.1.2.3 using Internet Explorer 7 and Firefox 3.0. Be aware that FF3 is not currently certified for use with Forms 10.1.2.3 or more. Other versions may or may not work for the aforementioned reasons.
    Solution
    Directions for use:
    1. using an html editor or text, create a file html with the following code:

Your browser or system settings prevented this window to close.

To ensure the highest level of security,

Please close/quit immediately this browser session.

    2. save the html with the following name: close.htm
3 store this file on the middle tier in a directory that has an associated virtual path configured on the HTTP server. You can use an existing path or create a new. For example, in the version 10.1.2 you can copy the html file to this directory:
    ORACLE_HOME\tools\web\html
Practically, the above corresponds to the following by default:
    genres/html /.
For more information about creating a virtual path to the HTTP server, refer to the HTTP Server Administrator's Guide.
    4. in the Forms application, choose the desired relaxation, where you want to run the browser is closed. Don't forget that by executing this code, the application will be suddenly terminated, therefore, it is recommended that the following code only appear in the trigger of FORM post forms.
    Web.show_document ('/ forms/html/close.htm','_self');
    5. compile and run the form.
Out of the form, the browser calls close.htm, resulting in the closing of the browser.
This has been tested successfully using IE7 on XP - SP3. While this code works with other browsers, for example, FireFox 3, a change of configuration in FF are needed to make it work properly.
    Manual steps required for FireFox:
    1. open an instance of the FireFox browser.
    2. in the address bar, enter the following command and press enter on the keyboard:
    Subject: config
    3. in the list presented, locate the following setting:
    DOM.allow_scripts_to_close_windows
    4. double-click on this setting to set its value to TRUE
    5. exit the browser

I crossed by disabling the extensions, and the extension of ImageTweak seems to have been the culprit. It was apparently works well with the previous version, 38 he screwed up. Well, not an extension is critical.

  • I've updated to firefox 5.0, and when I try to close the window after you open several tabs, they cannot be saved anymore.

In older versions when I have several tabs open and tried to close the window, he asked me if I really want to close and if I want them reopenned for the next session.

After updating this feature no longer exists.

He asks if I don't know that I want to close as many tabs.

Firefox 4 and later versions Save the previous session automatically, so it is no longer need for the dialog box asking if you want to save the current session.

Use ' file > leave "or" Firefox > Exit "(Mac: ' Firefox > quit Firefox") If you want to restore multiple windows.

You can use ' history > restore previous Session ' to get the previous session at any time.

You may need to click the Firefox orange/gray button to see history.

There is also a button 'Restore previous Session' on the default on: Home home page.

  • Popout Firefox not generating tab links

When I am browsing and I press Command + N (on a mac) and it pops up a new window, it has a tab on top that I can combine with the other tabs.
When I click on a link in a Web site (as google drive my account google for example), a new window opens without a tab at the top (it is not only google). Everything else on the browser still works, but there was some sort of update that changed that?
If anyone else has noticed this?

It seems that you are facing a problem other new users have discovered with some links in the Windows of private browsing with tabbed browsing is turned off.

To confirm, it's how you feel:

    (1) you have turned off the default "tabs" in preferences navigation setting - so Web site links coded to open in a new window are not diverted to a new tab instead

    (2) when you click on a link that specifies the opening in a new window (using the target = "_blank" attribute) the new window has only a partial toolbar, no bar menus, no toolbar bookmarks and maybe no scroll bar

For now, if you don't like tabbed browsing, I think that the best solution is to hold the SHIFT key while clicking on links. Firefox then will launch the link in a new window with the same menus and toolbars in the launch of the link window.

  • How to open a window of firefox without tabs or the toolbars and the FULL SCREEN NOT

I have a favorite site I want to use it as a desktop application, but not full screen. I want to not have any toolbars, tabs, address bar, etc.. Is this possible?

    Hello

I tried this extension and it seems to do what you want:

You can change the options for the extension in your modules page, either:

    • Enter Subject: addons in the address bar and go to the Extensions tab, or
    • Go to tools (or

      ) > Addons > Extensions

Don't forget to hide your title bar, if you want that web page to reach the top of your screen. If you don't know how, go to the personalization page by:

    • Enter topic: customization of in the address bar, or
    • Right click on your toolbar and select "Customize".
    • On the point of

      > Customize

In the lower left corner of the page should have a button 'Title Bar', clicking on it shows/hides the title bar.

  • How to close the instance of Firefox launched via file/new window without killing all instances of Firefox?

Before the last update Firefox, running on Ubuntu if it makes a difference, I was able to select close on the file menu (and if memory is also by clicking the x on the last tab) to exit an instance of Firefox open via file new window.

With the 9.x update this no longer seems to be possible. If I choose the file altogether starting an instance that was launched via the new window, all instances of Firefox away!

It's embarrassing because I have to leave all the instances that have been launched.

I tried closing last tab add on, and it allows me to close the last tab content but still leaves the instance running with a blank tab.

Is there a setting somewhere that I missed to restore the operating mode to exit the additional instances of Firefox without killing all the previous configuration?

    Thank you
    Burt

Each window must have its own close button (big X in the right corner.)
But it depends on the 'Theme' that you use in Ubuntu. This large X chould be a round point when you hover over the color changes. It could be on the left instead of the right site.
This screenshot shows the close the left side, but always an X button.

CTRL + SHIFT + W closed the window Active.
CTRL + W closes the current tab.

  • In the previous version of Firefox, I could close the window and still have my tabs intact when I reopened it. Why 4 FF closes all tabs and does not give me an option to save? (And if so, where can I change the parameter?)

In the previous version of Firefox, before closing a window with tabs open, he asked if I would "save and close", "close all tabs" or "Cancel". FF4 comes to warn me that I am fill these tabs and wonder is I want to continue, without giving the option to save my search for later use.

  • I can't open multiple windows in Firefox 8.0.1

I've recently updated to 8.0.1. I am running Windows Vista.

I can only have one window open. I can openmultiple tabs in a window.

Try Firefox SafeMode to see how it works there.

A way of solving problems, which disables most of the modules.

(If you use it, switch to the default theme).

    • You can open the mode without failure of Firefox 4.0 + by pressing the SHIFT key when you use the desktop Firefox or shortcut in the start menu.
    • Or use the Help menu option, click restart with the disabled... modules while Firefox is running.

Do not choose anything at the moment, just use 'continue in safe mode.

To exit safe mode of Firefox, simply close Firefox and wait a few seconds before using the shortcut of Firefox (without the Shift key) to open it again.

If it's good in Firefox Safe mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to understand that one.

  • When I select recently bookmarked it works ok, but when I select unsorted bookmarks it opens a window not closing cycles for a long time.and I want to close the window manually and not automatically

When I use the selection recently marked with a bookmark in bookmarks, it works very well and load the page quickly and opens another window. but when I go to unsorted bookmarks and double-click on the desired bookmark it loads very slowly and cycles for a long time. If I go to the firefox icon in the Launcher on natty 11.04 with unity it shows two open windows. I click on the unsorted Bookmarks window and manually stop and it works well and unordered finishes, loading the bookmark page I was trying to see. Why the unsorted Bookmarks window closes on its own? Is there a setting I can do close automatically. It really slows down the loading of the page, I tried to see. well thank you for any help or advice.

Create a new profile as a test to see if your profile is the source of the problems.

See basic troubleshooting: make a new profile:

There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "tools > Modules > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.

If this new profile works then you can transfer files from the old profile to the new profile (be careful not to copy corrupted files)

  • How to install multiple versions of Firefox

For many years, I use Firefox on multiple versions of Mac OS X.
For compatibility reasons, I have to keep the last 3.6.28 and I would like to use the latest version.

Until version 35.0.1 it wasn't a problem at all to have multiple versions installed.
The problem began with 36.x and remains also with the latest 38.0.

Problem: all booksmarks disappear when switching between versions. The browser history also disappears.
    How to reproduce the problem:
I throw the old version 3.x, all booksmarks are there. Then I stop 3.x.
Then I run the latest version 36.x or 37.x or 38.x and all booksmarks are still there. Then, I'm closing this version.
Back to 3.x all bookmarks disappeared. In any version of FF.

I need to recover the Firefox folder in the application to return to the 35.0.1.
