How to close programs that are running in the background and what services are safe cut
under windows xp with sp3, I hear something running in the background, but no photo with her, how I close it, also how do you know which windows services are safe to clog then start and stop can be a little faster?
For performance tweaks that I would recommend looking at http://www.tweakxp.com/performance_tweaks.aspx they have a great compilation of good settings you can do and more are step by step, so even the most novice person can perform these tasks. Insofar as something running in the background of his always possible, you have some kind of malware running I want to run a scan for these emissions.

I use windows 8 in my pc, it works fine for me, but now I'm frustrated with their apps running in the background. I'm not a regular user of windows 8, so I can not able to solve this problem. Please suggest me easiest to solve... Thank you
Windows 8 modern apps can't run in the background. If you minimize a program and then open task (Ctrl + Shift + Esc) Manager, you'll see that applications use not your processor (applications stop working).

You can also see what programs you have start at startup, using this program and make changes to the boot:

This utility, which has a knowledge of auto-starting locations of any startup monitor, shows you what programs configured to run at system startup or login and that the entries in the order of processing windows. These programs include those in your startup folder, Run, RunOnce, and other registry keys. You can configure Autoruns to show other locations, including Explorer shell, toolbar extensions, helper objects to the browser, Winlogon notifications, auto and many start-up services even more. Autoruns goes way beyond the MSConfig utility bundled with Windows Me and XP.

Many programs under Tools > Options have an option "run at Windows startup" which you can uncheck too
For what programs you start at startup, we know not what you have installed, but you will know what is installed and you need to start at startup:

How to stop windows that open up behind the taskbar and sidebar
I was wondering if there was a way to stop windows from behind the taskbar and sidebar of Vista SP2, I currently have my taskbar on the right side on the same width as my sidebar, located on the left side of the screen. Both have been set to keep above other windows. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.
Even if it meant having the image of the shrunken desktop so it fit perfectly into the space remaining.
Also, is it possible to have a mobile wallpaper?
Oddities of the operating system, I think. Having the bar spots on the side at least gives you a chance to save a program window. I run the taskbar double wide at the top, and some programs insist on opening umderneath it. I have to resize the task bar if I want to be able to move the window anywhare. Also happens in Win 7...
DreamScene animated backgrounds were for Vista Ultimate only, but Stardock has called the Scapes desktop that will run on other versions of Vista, but you must pay for it.

In addition to information from SC Tom, you can try the uninstall from the FixIt Solution Center:

You must make the system restore to go back to the games.
Follow these steps:
1) click Start and in the search type: restore or rstrui or search in the menu start the voice of system restore (Accessories-> system tools)
(2) now, click on "choose a different restore point.
(3) choose a date before you deleted the games
(4) now confirm and your pc will restartIf you want to get the best results, do Safe Mode.
I think with this, you can retrieve games :)

Separated from this thread.
Tom... I'm looking for the answer to the exact same question... How is it difficult to understand that applications die/chew place memory/chew time cpu and we cannot sit at the PC at the same time watching a monitor of performance...
Resource monitor is really an extension of part of the tool used long ago to Windows.
Win + R and Run perfmon. This allows you to define specific counters and sampling frequencies. Not easier to use tools but the data can be used and analyzed after the event.

This happens frequently. Something in Firefox continues to operate even when the program is closed. The process must be stopped before I can open Firefox again.
