How to compare strings

Hi, I went through some examples to compare the strings, but I'm having a doubt.

These are the two strings in the need to compare

for example: FE1122334455667788FE and FE FE 11 22 33 44 55 66 77 88

I used the basic equal expression, but also the Match model expression, but I don't get a good return? Is this because of space, if yes, how can I compare only strings by eliminating spaces?

If anyone can help who is going to be awesome.

was soon Raj

Hi John, Yes. You receive the result that is not due to the presence of space in your second string.

You can use the named function, find and replace to identify the space character and replace them all with the null character. Once you do this and that you compare, you will certainly get the result as equal.

I made a code for this example and the screenshot which is attached with this post.

Kind regards

  • How to convert string input streams

    Can someone tell me how to convert string input streams...

    There are multiple ways. I will list down few of them.

    With the help of the old solution and standard java.

    publicstaticString fromStream(InputStream in)throwsIOException

    {

       BufferedReader reader =newBufferedReader(newInputStreamReader(in));

       StringBuilder out =newStringBuilder();

       String line;

       while((line = reader.readLine()) !=null) {

           out.append(line);

       }

       returnout.toString();

    }

    returnsb.toString();

    If you use Google-Collections/guava-

    InputStream stream = ...

    String content = CharStreams.toString(newInputStreamReader(stream, Charsets.UTF_8));

    Closeables.closeQuietly(stream);

    If you use the common Apache library... then it is worthwhile.

    StringWriter writer =newStringWriter();

    IOUtils.copy(inputStream, writer, encoding);

    String theString = writer.toString();

    Quick way but only work during deserialization.

    String result = (String)newObjectInputStream( inputStream ).readObject();

    Note: ObjectInputStream is on deserialization and the flow of data must respect the Protocol of serialization to work, which may not always true in all cases.

    Ultimately, the most effective solution and only in two lines using java class Scanner.

    Tricky is to remember the \A regex that matches the beginning of the entry. It actually indicates Scanner to mark all of the flow, from start to beginning next (illogical).

    publicstaticString convertToString(InputStream in) {

       java.util.Scanner s =newjava.util.Scanner(in).useDelimiter("\\A");

       returns.hasNext() ? s.next() :"";

    }

  • How to compare premises, iSCSI and storage NFS for VMware ESXi 5 with IO Analyzer?

    Hello

    I have 2 hosts ESXi 5.0 with a few virtual machines running. I would compare the IO throughput for my local storage, iSCSI and NFS vmware storage store. Can someone point me to the right direction? I read the documents and tutorials, but I'm not sure how to compare tests from these 3 options.

    I have a need to compare the following storage options.

    Local disk on the ESX host

    iSCSI on QNAP NAS device

    iSCSI on EMC e 3100

    NFS on QNAP NAS device

    NFS on EMC e 3100

    IOmeter seems to be good tool based on reading, but still not clear where to make changes to pass tests of storage to another.

    Thanks in advance,

    Sam

    If you use IO monitor, then you must simply vmotion the VMS to the data store for the device you want to test, and then run the test (and Records results).  Can vmotion for the following data store and repeat.

  • How to compare two users (2)

    Hi all

    11.2.0.1

    AIX 6.1

    I have two databases (dev & uat) on separate servers with equal facility.

    On each database, I created a schema user "batchdba" and gave them same privilege "dba".

    But when I import (impdp) the dumpfile output from other databases that encrypted table and with the same command, it runs successfully on DEV but not on the UAT.

    How can I compare that privilege is missing from the UAT for the user "batchdba". Or how to compare the privileges granted to these two patterns?

    Thank you very much

    You can query the following views on the databases to compare the result

    dba_role_privs

    dba_sys_privs

    query these tables with the status RECIPIENT = "BATHCDBA."

    Can I change the query1 query for plan2?

    As Juliet was mentioned in the first SQL that you generate from the ENAME list that you must pass in the IN clause when executing. But in the second SQL, it passed as a static value. So first SQL must do more work. So you see a different execution plan.

    But this is a work around to get what you are looking for. But I can't say it's a foolproof method. But anyway here you go.

    SQL > var ename_list varchar2 (100)
    SQL > exec: ename_list: = 'SMITH, ALLEN, WARD, JONES ';

    PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.
