How to configure ASA as EZ - vpn client?

How can I configure ASA as Ez - vpn client?

Only ASA 5505 can be configured as a client VPN EZ.

Here's a few example configuration:

http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/docs/security/ASA/asa80/configuration/guide/ezvpn505.html

Hope that helps.

  • ASA 5520: Remote VPN Clients cannot ping LAN, Internet

I've set up a few of them in my time, but I am confused with this one.  Can I establish connect via VPN tunnel but I can't ping or go on the internet.  I searched the forum for similar and found a little issues, but none of the fixes seem to match.  I noticed a strange thing is when I run ipconfig/all of the vpn client, the IP address that has been leased over the Pool of the VPN is also the default gateway!

I have attached the config.  Help, please.

    Thank you!

Exemption of NAT ACL has not yet been applied.

NAT (inside) 0-list of access Inside_nat0_outbound

In addition, you have not split tunnel, not sure you were using internet ASA for the vpn client internet browsing.

You can also enable icmp inspection if you test in scathing:

    Policy-map global_policy
    class inspection_default

    inspect the icmp

  • How can I send parameters preconfigured VPN client to a remote user

    Dear all,

I have an ASA 5510 using VPN IP - SEC for remote users. I want to send all settings pre-configured for the VPN client.

How can I save the configuration file and send to a remote user?

    Concerning

Configure the vpn profile in your vpn client, and then send them the .pcf file located in the directory Program Files/Cisco Systems VPN/customer/profiles. Then all they have to do is import it into their client.

  • Connected to the ASA via the "VPN Client" software, but cannot ping devices.

I have a network that looks like this:

I successfully connected inside the ASA via a software "Client VPN" tunnel network and got an IP address of 10.45.99.100/16.

I am trying to ping the 10.45.99.100 outside 10.45.7.2, but the ping fails (request timed out).

On the SAA, including the "logging console notifications" value, I notice the following message is displayed:

I have a vague feeling that I'm missing a NAT rule of course, but not all. What did I miss?

Here is my configuration of ASA: http://pastebin.com/raw.php?i=ad6p1Zac

    Hello

You seem to have a configured ACL NAT0 but is not actually in use with a command "nat"

    You would probably need

NAT (inside) 0-list of access inside_nat0_outside

    He must manage the NAT0

Personally, I would avoid using large subnets/networks. You probably won't ever have host behind ASA who would fill / 16 subnet mask.

I would also keep the pool VPN as a separate network from LANs behind ASA. The LAN 10.45.0.0/16 and 10.45.99.100 - 200 are on the same network.

  • Binds two ISP ASA to remote VPN Client to connect to instead of creating two profiles on the remote client

    Hello

    just a quick,

    TOPOLOGY

    ASA isps1 - 197.1.1.1 - outside

    ASA ISP2 - 196.1.1.1 - backup

    LAN IP - 192.168.202.100 - inside

I have configured Tunnel on the interfaces (external and backup), but is to link both legs public to serve a thare as redundancy for vpn users and users of the vpn tunnel leave pointing inside IP whenever they want to establish vpn sssion, we want it to be one, so if an interface fails vpn users will not know , but he will try the second for the connection. instead of creating the profile for the two outside of the leg on the vpn client.

    is this possible?

    Hi Rammany.

In your case, you have only an ASA that connects with 2 ISP in another segment IP... 196.x.x.x (Link1) & 197.x.x.x (Link2). What your condition is you want to have the VPN client who must be consulted with backup. If 196.x.x.x link fails, it should automatically take 197.x.x.x link. That too we should not have the config set in the VPN client backup server. You don have the possibility of having standby active also in asa single.

I think n so it will work with your current design.

This option is if your VPN client supports host name resolution (DNS). You can have the VPN created for both the public IP address share the same host name keeping the bond as the primary address 1 and 2 a secondary address. It will work alone.

Hope someother experts in our forum can help you with that.

  • How to configure ASA IPS, which is connected to the Internet

    Hello guys,.

I am a beginner in the Concept ASA IPS and that my company HAS an ASA 5520.

Currently, ASA has been connected to the router connected ISP and internet acting as a firewall to control the traffic which

is integrated with Websense URL filtering.

Can you please let me know what all should we expected to configure IPS in this scenario, and what is the IPS feature.

What is the main function of the IPS?

    Grateful to your messages.

    Kind regards

    KA.

    KA;

The main function of the AIP - SSM in your ASA 5520 is to perform deep inspection packet and signature matching to detect traffic potential of achievement within your network.  If this traffic is detected, the AIP - SSM denying traffic to cross your ASA.  Here is a link to a brief overview of the product:

    http://www.Cisco.com/go/aipssm

First, you must configure the ASA to divert traffic to the AIP - SSM for inspection, it is shown here:

    http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/docs/security/IPS/7.0/Configuration/Guide/CLI/cli_ssm.html

So, you want to make sure that background basket interface (GigabitEthernet0/1) is added to a virtual sensor on the AIP - SSM for allow the inspections to occur.

You want to make sure that the signature on the AIP - SSM definitions are up-to-date.  This ensures the most accurate protection from the perspective of the AIP - SSM.  This will require an active license be installed on the AIP - SSM.

Then, you most likely want to monitor events generated by the AIP - SSM.  To do this, Cisco offers a free entry-level called IPS Manager Express (IME) solution.  You can learn more and download IME here:

    http://www.Cisco.com/go/IME

You will want to monitor EMI to learn that the potential risks of security in network traffic crossing your infrastructure.  When you experience events for which you would like to understand better, you can site IntelliShield visist Cisco for further investigation:

    http://www.Cisco.com/security

Details here, can also be extended within the IME event view.

Use of an IPS will be a continuous monitor and learn phase in order to ensure that you are aware of traffic expected and unexpected, and that the appropriate response can be applied.  This is something which is different in each environment, so it is not a simple white paper on how to perform these actions.

    Hello Cam,

It is 'technically' not valid because your incoming mail server is mail.samreesor.com that then connects to worldsecuresystems.com which is what BC (secure) runs on.

There is nothing wrong with this message as you (and trust if all goes well) the server you connect too. Just mail to inform you that the name of your server and the originating host name are different, which is what it says at the top of this box. If it's something else that you weren't familiar will, you'd be suspicious.

Click the trust under and select the option to "Always trust this certificate." This will stop the message appear continuously.

  • Unable to connect to other remote access (ASA) VPN clients

    Hello

I have a cisco ASA 5510 appliance configured with remote VPN access

I can connect all hosts on the INSIDE and DMZ network, but not able to access other clients connected to the same VPN.

For example, if I have 2 clients connected to the VPN, customer and CustomerB, with a pool of vpn IP addresses such as 10.40.170.160 and 10.40.170.161 respectively, these two clients are not able to communicate with each other.

    Any help is welcome.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

I'm a little rusty on the old format NAT, but would be what I would personally try to configure NAT0 on the 'outer' interface.

It seems to me that you currently have dynamic PAT configured for the VPN users you have this

    NAT (outside) 1 10.40.170.0 255.255.255.0

If your traffic is probably corresponding to it.

The only thing I can think of at the moment would be to configure

Note of VPN-CLIENT-NAT0-access-list NAT0 for traffic between VPN Clients

    list of access VPN-CLIENT-NAT0 permit ip 10.40.170.0 255.255.255.0 10.40.170.0 255.255.255.0

NAT (outside) 0-list of access VPN-CLIENT-NAT0

I don't know if it works. I did not really have to configure it on any ASAs running older software. There was some similar questions here on the forums for the new format.

  • Cisco VPN Client and Windows XP VPN Client IPSec to ASA

I configured ASA for IPSec VPN via Cisco VPN Client and XP VPN client communications. I can connect successfully with Cisco VPN Client, but I get an error when connecting with the XP client. Debugging said "misconfigured groups and transport/tunneling mode" I know, they use different methods of transport and tunneling, and I think that I have configured both. Take a look at the config.

    Hello

For the Cisco VPN client, you would need a tunnel-group name configured on the ASA with a pre-shared key.

    Please see configuration below:

    http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/products/ps6120/products_configuration_example09186a00805734ae.shtml

    or

    http://tinyurl.com/5t67hd

Please see the section of tunnel-group config of the SAA.

There is a tunnel-group called "rtptacvpn" and a pre-shared key associated with it. This group name is used by the VPN Client Group name.

So, you would need a specific tunnel-group name configured with a pre-shared key and use it on the Cisco VPN Client.

Secondly, because you are behind a router ADSL, I'm sure that's configured for NAT. can you please activate NAT - T on your ASA.

Thirdly, change the transformation of the value

I have a route on the Barracuda NG to the 10.10.10.0/24 network VPN Client on eth0.

The 192.168.1.0/24 LAN I ping the Client comes with Client VPN 10.10.10.11 as it should. But I can't ping or access network resources in the local network for AnyConnected customer's PC that connected through the VPN.

Here is the config Cisco ASA:

Can someone please help me solve this problem?

When I tried to solve this I didn't choose which interface the Packet Tracer?

The interface inside or DMZ interface?  Inside, he says it will not work with the dmz but the error did not help me

Anyone here knows why it does not work?

    Hello

Inside LAN is directly connected to the right firewall VPN... then I don't think you have to have the itinerary tunnele... can you try to remove the road tunnel mode and check.

entrance to the road that is static to achieve 10.10.10.11 as its display is correct...

Route by tunnel watch also with 255 administrative distance.  I've never used that in my scenarios... lets see...

  • AAA ipsec vpn clients how to see the history of connection on asdm or asa5510

Hello all, I would like to know how see history of connection ipsec vpn client users, they authenticate to the local aaa, not in active directory. I am able to see the current logon session. go to monitoring\vpn\vpn statistics\sessions, this shows me sessions underway, but I would like to see for example the connections client vpn for the last month. I did some research and saw the info on aaa Server? I checked that article and does not see what I was looking for.

It's actually a called (NPS) network policy server microsoft radius server.

The one I used (ACS 5 and ACS 5) who was just an example.

You can review the below listed doc
