I have Windows 2000 with a shared folder to which only up to 10 computers can connect. Is there a way to increase this limit, and if not, is this upper limit in later versions of Windows? Thank you.

I can run to see and play the video under action/activity but cannot import in my Albums. I use OS X El Capitan, 10.11.3.
You must first import the video to your library. Then you can add it to an album of Moments or pictures album.
- CTRL-click on the video in the shared album.
- If you see "Import" click to import the video to your library.
- Then ctrl - click again and select "view in the Library.
- When you see the video in the moment, drag it to the album in the sidebar, where you want to add to.

Shared folders is disconnected and impossible to reconnect to the drive already in use error letter
I have a XP Pro SP3 with all the recommended updates installed as of 10/02/2011 that sporadically will lose connections to all shared folders on the domain controller Server 2003 SP2. The actions will connect and be accessible on initial login/start, but after an indeterminate amount of time all drives mapped on the 2 k 3 server disconnects themselves. Actions that are located on a Samba server are always accessible and only this one workstation is having issues. I also made sure that there is no other disk, physical or mapped, which have the same letters assigned on this workstation. Another thing I noticed is that it seems that to do so for a particular user who is an administrator. All users of all types seem to be able to work without any problems.

Can't see the shared folders in WIn 8.1 comments.
I'm using VMware Workstation 10.0.1 and I earn 8.1 as my host OS.
When I set up a VM 7 Win, shared folders are working as expected, but with a VM 8.1 Win I can't find folders in Explorer. Also, I tried to access it via \\vmware-host and \\.host without success.
How can I see the shared folders in a Win 81 guest VM?
Thank you!
Hey Psi,
I had a similar problem. Worked fine on Windows 8.0, but after modernized this VM for Windows 8.1, the shared folder feature has stopped working. Only after the reinstallation of VMware Tools, it worked again.
Please note that a 'fix' on VMware Tools installation does not provide it, only a complete uninstall/reboot/install/reboot sequence makes this feature back to life for me.
Hope this helps,

How can I connect to someone who is hacking my network?
How can I connect to someone who is hacking my network?
Hi Frank,.
What kind of network - your internet connection? your intranet from home or the office (and it is wireless or wired or both)? An ad - hoc network or a network based on the domain server (and if the latter, what type of server)? The network hosts a web site, an exchange server that is accessible by internet, or also allowed incoming connections? How many computers is on the network and what are the current use operating systems and who do you think are presented? If you use a router, is protected by a router security identifier unique and a password (no admin / admin or other default standard settings, everyone knows) and a unique key and what type of security type (WPA, WPA2,...) and what type of encryption code? This can be verified by the computer and others need to be checked or enabled via the router you can reach most likely through your browser by typing 192.168.1.1 where you would normally enter a URL. If this isn't the correct code, then see below for IPCONFIG and would probably be the address that you want as the gateway by default and possibly the address of the DHCP server or the DNS server address as well and use what is there instead. What type of method of internet access (DSL, cable, Satellite,...)?
How do you know if that someone is hacking your system? What evidence do you have that it happens or happened? How do you think that piracy happens - happens through your connections in real-time (as if someone used a remote access or remote desktop) or it occurs because you seem to see the proof of it (if so, what evidence)? I am trying to determine if a person has a path in your system directly or whether you are infected with malware that allows a periodic access or 'appear' as you are being hacked, when you are just infected.
Do you notice it when it is real or only later after it occurred? What exactly is the pirate make - information collection, change of information, install programs, remove programs or information, theft of bandwidth, or you are not sure and don't know exactly? This happens only when you are connected to the internet or does it also occur when you are not connected and just using the computers and devices that are other interconnected? If it isn't when it is connected to the internet, which helps limit the possibilities.
If you are present and it's ongoing, click on start / all programs / accessories / right-click on command prompt and click Run as administrator. Then type IPCONFIG/all and enter. Which should display all connections to your computer, and if anyone is connected, this connection must appear, as well as login information and include information such as address TCP/IP (which may be useful to know). Create a capture image or printscreen of the information.
If you use Vista or Windows 7, go to start / Control Panel / Network and sharing Center / discover computers and devices. Is there a link that doesn't seem right or that you don't recognize? Come back and click on manage network connections. Are there connections that you don't recognize? If so, click on them and learn what you can about the properties and other information - create a capture of information or save a printscreen image.
You use the Windows Firewall and is it activated and functioning? Open and check exceptions and remove the items that you do not use or do not need - by default adds a lot of things that most people do not use. and everyone is a path in your system. The less open ports, the better. Do not remove everything you really need, but uncheck everything you don't need (you can always add it back later if the need ever happens).
It's just a start on what to do to gather information. I need the results and answers to give additional advice on what to do next - depending on what you have to say.
Most likely, we will be able to best prevent access or possibly with the help of your ISP and the ISP of the hacker TCP/IP address (if we find the it), be able to identify who it is and stop it or help you gather enough information take legal or security action against the person or persons responsible. Ago probably pirates out there that can do what you're tempted, but also provides methods of hacking (and that is basically what YOU want to do) is not something we support or help someone to do here. To help you protect your system is one thing and we'll do what we can to help here - teach you how to hack the somone who is hacking you is quite another and we will not be involved in this.

In the meantime, in case there is an infection as opposed to a direct hacking, update and run a full scan with any security software you use.
If you do not have because they can help, try the following programs. I recommend you download, install, update and run full scans with Malwarebytes:http://www.malwarebytes.org/ and SuperAntiSpyware:http://superantispyware.com/ and then run a full scan of Microsoft Security:http://www.microsoft.com/security/default.aspx.

How to activate the shared folders in the VMware tools
I'm running a Windows 2003 Server EE guest x 64 OS in a virtual machine hosted by ESXi 3.5 u4 build 199239. VMware tools have been updated to the latest version for this build ESX. In the VMware Tools Properties GUI the shared folders tab says "shared folders are currently disabled on the host computer. Please see VMware documentation to find out how to activate it. "I searched all the VMware Documentation and have not found the answer to this question.
Also, when folders are enabled it is my understanding that an addition is made to the guest OS network providers. What is the impact of the network provider of shared folders moving further towards the bottom of the list of purchase orders (network connections, advanced, advanced settings, purchase order).
As far as I KNOW, this is not possible if it running ESX (i)

The shared folders functionality is not supported by the ESX Server or GSX server, but is enabled when you install VMware Tools with the complete option. The feature is not enabled when you install VMware Tools with the typical option in respect of these products.

When I connect my Ipad or Iphone to my computer via a USB cable, I can open the storage folder without using a password. How can I avoid someone else do the same?
This storage folder are you referring? If you are referring to the film, what happens because you have accepted a trust between the iOS device and the computer. If the device has been connected to another computer, it must be unlocked and establish a relationship of trust as well. If you are referring to something different, please explain.

Problem: after files moved or modified, they persist in network folder, for example:\\my-pc\
It seems that their ghosts never die. Even when I put the file back to what was before, they are not accessible, and read error message, "you might not have permission to use this network resource...". »

Why there is no easy way I can change the shared folders?

No more connected after an update of Windows shared folders
Hello everyone
First post here, hope you are well
I'm nay-seven working for music software, testing 10 Windows on a Mac 10.8.5
After the last Windows Update today, some strange results on the side of Vmware:
the folders on my desktop no longer opens, a mouse on them say 'empty folder' and double click not show a value (can't even delete them)
I also notice a second shortcut on my desktop named "vmware shared folders (1).
If I open the windows file browser I see a red x on 'shared folders (\\vmware-host)(Z :) '. "If I try to open it a message say" Z: is not accessible...
If someone can help me on this issue, my appz works, but this fake desktop is a bit annoying
Hello nayseven,
The same problem has been reported for Windows 10 11 computer, and the user out there it is resolved by reinstalling VMware Tools.
The correct way to do this is to uninstall VMware Tools-> restart guest operating system-> install VMware Tools-> restart guest operating system.
The repair option still does not and can not solve this problem.
