How to create a link in Acrobat that only works on specific layers

Hey there!

Currently, I am working on an interactive organizational chart (PDF) for our Organization. Opens a list of processes by clicking on the various departments. Now, I want these processes link to some external documents explaining these processes. I managed to do it, but the link works on all layers, the actual menu is visible or not. The current structure is created in Illustrator and then exported into PDF file. In Acrobat, I added the buttons to toggle the different layers.

My question is to this effect:

Is is possible to create a link on a specific layer, which works only when the layer is visible?

The problem is that if people click in a white box a link can be selected. I hope you guys can help.

Note that it has currently a bug in the way annotations work on a BCG. The link will disappear, but the bounding box of the link will remain active access point. In your case however the bug can be useful, as if two link objects overlap part of the page and isn't on a BCG, turn off the BCG neutralizes indeed the hotspot.

Follow this procedure to see what it can (and cannot) do:

  1. Tools > Production printing Panel, open the preflight
  2. Select 'of individual corrections"- the third icon
  3. Click on the "Layers" section, just so that things will go in a logical place
  4. Click on 'options' then 'create new correction before the flight '.
  5. Name it "put all the links on the links layer."
  6. Click on the category "layers" and scroll down the list on the right to choose "put the objects on the layer.
  7. Identified by a check 'Objects' menu, choose 'Annotation's type Link
  8. The layer name, enter 'links '.
  9. Click OK to save your new control.
  10. Assuming that you have a document open, select your new correction and press the Fix button.

You will be asked to save the file under a new name, then you will get a message on the layers being change and you to close and reopen the file (this is a limitation in the preflight, until you do the new layer will not be displayed).

To understand how the bug of BCG-nonOCG overlapping, now you have a link on the links layer, create a new one using the normal tool (which will not be on the layer). Demi-chevauchement them and see what happens when you put the market layer.

The best way to test is to create an empty document and add a link "go to a web page" with a visible rectangle-, and then when you migrate it on a layer, you can probe for hotspot hovering your mouse and look for the ToolTip of the URI.

    Then, right-click existing all preference and choose new > String

    Browser.bookmarks.file stick as a name then Firefox ask you for the location. You can put anything temporarily and then return and double-click to edit and paste the full name of the location and file such as:

    C:\Users\username\Desktop\mybookmarks.html

    You can use file-> Send link or copy the web address of the address bar and paste it into an email.

    Looking at the example, I think that the link is most likely a nonprinting button. Attached is a pdf example and screenshots of the parameters used.
