  I have used a 2817 Dell and an old 28 "HD monitor and recently wanted to replace my old HD monitor for a TV from LG UHD 43". I realize that HDMI port on the mac is evaluated only for 3840x2160@30Hz, but for some reason the TV 43UH6100 is detected as "screen LG TV to 120.5 7680 x 4050" when I provides information on the system... to this resolution, it is quite illegible, but with scale I can clean it up a bit. My intention is to run the 3840x2160@30 resolution.

  Any ideas on how to convince the mac pro to offer 3840x2160@30Hz as a resolution possible? I checked the Web from LG site and there is no update firmware to pick up (again)
