  • Windows 8: Disable media sharing completely

My music is served off my Qnap NAS via Twonky Media Server.

So I have to share anything from any of my machines to Windows 8.

Yet all my DNLA receivers (Noxon Audio, audio/video receiver, BD player...) are "polluted" by as many servers as there are has user accounts on Windows 8 machines under tension: if I turn on just my laptop and tablet, I have no less than 8 useless media servers and this can get worse!

Beside that, on battery-powered devices, this probably causes excessive battery drain.

A completely disabling Windows 8 media-sharingsystem for all users?

Go to the-->--> Service Administrative Tools Control Panel.

Look for the network of the Player Windows Media Sharing Service. Stop and disable.
  • How to disable the sharing protected by password on a Windows 7 system, which is connected to a domain?

    Hello

On Windows 7, there is a parameter that allows to enable/disable sharing protected by password. This setting is available via the network and sharing Center > advanced sharing settings. However, it seems that this sharing of password option is not available when Windows 7 system is connected to a domain.

Is it possible to turn sharing on or off protected by password on a Windows 7 system, which is connected to a domain? If so, how would we go to this topic?

    Thank you

  • Media sharing in Vista stops after 20 minutes

I have two computers, one running Vista Home, the other running Vista professional.  Vista Home computer is connected to my stereo and has no media stored directly on it.  I can turn on media sharing to it will work perfectly, but then after about twenty minutes, it will stop.  The computer is always connected to the network, can still see the other computer, and if I disable media sharing, and then turn it back on, it will be fine.  I tried to find an explanation, but I can't.

I have a laptop, too, and it can connect to the computer Vista Pro without problems or interruptions.  The Vista Pro computer can play media off of my computer Vista Home (I put some there to test) without interruption.  The laptop and the Vista Home computer, connect to my wireless network, Vista Pro is connected using a wired connection.

Any kind of understand why this is happening or what I can do to solve this problem would be greatly appreciated.

  • How to disable the server of VMware Workstation share

How to disable the sharing of VMware Workstation Server using a configuration of the registry or configuration file. I have several workstations on the network that has VMware workstation 8.0.4 install and I need to turn off sharing for all users. This function is located in preferences/Shared VMs.   I need to be able to adjust this setting to disable remote. The host computers using windows xp. Any help will be appreciated.

It depends how you are going to access various systems is however here two options that you can include in any method you choose.  We need to create a. CMD file and the other is to use just one. REG file.

The command Disable_VMwareHostd.cmd of Script can be as simple as:

    net stop VMwareHostd
    reg add HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\VMwareHostd /v Start /t REG_DWORD /d 00000004 /f

    The Disable_VMwareHostd.reg file would be:

    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\VMwareHostd]
    "Start"=dword:00000004

Note: Always two empty lines at the end of the .reg file.

The syntax of the command to execute would be:

    regedit /s Disable_VMwareHostd.reg

Note that just by using a .reg file, you must always stop the VMwareHostd Service, so I would opt for the use of the method of Script command as it will stop the VMwareHostd Service and turn it off at the same time.

I still have my put networks in place to be able to (with authentication) execute commands remotely and or push the or the files that are necessary to achieve the objective.  In a case like this, when I had hundreds of systems to change I write a binary executable to fix the problem, which would automatically run when the user logged on to the domain, but if you don't have programming skills so then using a Script command and or file Reg can / will do the job.

  • How to disable alerts in shared calendars?

    Hi all

My question is this: is it possible (and if so, how) to disable alerts on changes in a calendar shared on ios 9?

Calendar sharing 'A' from mac to iphone to my wife, and whenever I change something in an event it receives an alert on the screen of her phone, with the sound.

Is there a way to remove the notifications on every single events change?

    Thanks for your help

    Hi bart,.

I understand that you want to disable specific notifications on the iPhone of your wife? You can certainly take the control whose opinions are given on your iOS device.

To change notifications for that agenda shared so that an alert is not indicated for each change made to the calendar on your wife's iPhone, go to settings > Notifications > calendar > calendar changes. You can then select the option to "None" so that no alert is displayed on his phone when there is a change to the shared calendar. The this link below will also be you become familiar with the different settings that you can use to adjust your alerts specifically to your liking!

Use the Notifications on your iPhone, iPad and iPod touch

You can go in Panel, programs and features and functionality in Windows
on and outside. I think you have to turn off the Media Center and Windows
Media Player. As indicated, you will not be able to remove the bits that are
    part of the operating system.
