How to disable "on: newtab ' text in the address bar of each new tab Firefox 13

Many of us are used to open a new tab and begin to write search queries / web address in the address bar

with Firefox 13 if I open new tab and just try to get firefox
following appears in the address bar

Subject: newtabfirefox

(topic: newtab is already written in the new tab address bar)

If you want to open a new tab in a some URLs (like www.google.com or another site) go to Subject: config find/type browser.newtab.url , double click (or right click on it and select Edit) and type the url you want. Whenever you open a new tab, you open it in this url/site.

If you want to open a new tab like a Virgin tab, so you can write search queries / web address in the address bar, do the same thing and type Subject: vacuum .
Each new tab in the future, it opens in white.

Thank you

  • How to select all the text in the address bar when you open a new tab

I changed browser.newtab.url to a Web site with links, that I often use. Now, I have the problem that I don't always want to use one of these links. So when I start typing in the address bar text simply add the URL of my site. The problem would be solved, if the text in the address bar is activated every time when I opened a new tab (I could press each time crtl + of course, but I usually just type)

Is there something in the config, I can change or an Addon?

I had this same problem, but I was able to remedy this by installing this add-on:

    https://addons.Mozilla.org/firefox/addon/custom-new-tab/

After the installation, remember to go to add-ons, Extensions; Click on the Options button; and select the development of space in the URL bar.

  • FF 40 for Linux. Blank white page without control. Own profile fixed but causes blocks colored instead of the text in the address bar.

Because the update to 40 FF lance a blank white screen with no controls, no toolbar or address bar. I can create a new profile in the Profile Manager and then launch firefox functional but a previous bug still exists, the text in the address bar is replaced by blocks of solid colors. The only solution I know because this is: config > gfx.xrender > toggle true to false, but on the relaunch firefox returns the white screen.

2 should I proceed to report a bug, and where should I report it? On bugzilla? Is it easy to report a bug or find out if she is already underway on?

I found my own solution to the problem, which was caused by the incompatibility of the 40 FF with the Lubuntu versoin I used 14:04, so I've updated at 15:04 and FF still works, though only after the creation of another new profile.

  • How to stop multiple self-switching to the address bar every time I open a new tab and try typing something anywhere outside the address bar?

How to stop multiple self-switching to the address bar every time I open a new tab and try typing something anywhere outside the address bar? As something just wants me to use this integrated search when you type something non-Web-address in the address bar and press to enter. And the most ridiculous thing is that happens repeatedly on as every second, as I just got off the address bar and start typing again, but still he passes me in the address bar, then 3, 4 times like that. And the result is that I don't see the address of this page.

I think that its has something to do with my AVG Antivirus, because it started the same time a Nation AVG started to appear in each new tab I opened (and which is irritating as me, I've read here on support.mozilla.org and it seems that the only solution is to completely reinstall Firefox, but I don't want to lose all my settings) but when I type something in the address bar and press enter It opens the search results in Google.

Please try to help me, I love Firefox but I have to switch to Chrome until I fix this.

    Thanks in advance

First of all, please update Firefox 32. 22 is no longer support is not safe. So, let us know if you still have this problem. Update Firefox to the latest version

The address bar does not appear. How it to appear?

    • If the menu bar is hidden, press in and hold the ALT key, this should make the convocation of Menu bar. Make sure you have the Navigation tools and other visible toolbars toolbar: view > toolbars.
    • If items are missing then see if you can find them in the view > toolbars > customize window.
    • If you see the item in the window customize then bring her back in the window, customize the Navigation toolbar.
    • If you do not see this item then click Restore default set in the view > toolbars > customize window.

  • When you open a new tab, placing default text in the address bar, a way to change to the new page (like Google)?

When I click on the 'plus' for a new tab, which automatically takes me to google.com so beautiful, but the cursor is in the address bar. It seems that the cursor is in the google search box, but it's not.

When I click on "Home" the default cursor, the search field, which I think is correct. Is there a way to have FF does not by default the address for the input text bar when you open a new tab?

I doubt it. Google controls their research and their browser and they integrate features. But you can use "Ctrl + K" to place your cursor in the search bar"in your Firefox toolbars. By pressing the key TAB a little is a waste of time since there are a lot of links before you get to the entrance area.

There could be an extension, if it bothers some, but I don't see a valid compromise to justify the use of an extension of something that seems trivial to me.

  • Safari 9.0.3 duplicates url address.  Cannot enter text in the address bar. With the help of Yosemite 10.10.5.

Suddenly this morning I could not type into the address bar of Safari 9.0.3, and then noticed that the url has been duplicated.  If I click on the sidebar to get a new Web page, the address bar then includes two urls, those past and present.  Restarted Safari - no change.  Not disabled-extensions (AdBlock, ClicktoFlash and DuckDuckGo) - no change.  Restarted the MacBook Pro (15-inch, mid 2010) Yosemite 10.10.5 - no change running.  Firefox is running normally.

    Can anyone help please.

    Hello

Today, I have problems with the Safari address bar.

Direct search through the address bar does not work.

I can open the first site that I type in. After that, when I select the address bar, the former Web site title will remain as I type. I can repeat that these steps and all text will be overlap in the address bar. No Web site can be opened with Safari. Below a screenshot of my address bar.

I am running the latest version of Safari and OS X...

  • The tabs in Firefox 4 are hiding my browser themes. Can they be placed UNDER the address bar as it was in Firefox 3?

Firefox 4 has placed the tabs above the address bar, rather than below (as if it was in previous versions) and the legs are block and hide my browser themes. Is it possible to move the tabs UNDER the address bar? I love being able to customize my browser with a variety of topics, but if I can't see them, then, the purpose of Personas is defeated. I think also, navigate between tabs is much easier to be at the top of the browser window. The address bar must be the head, not the tabs.

Right-click on a toolbar, and then click the entry "Tabs" at the top to deselect the it.

  • How to select and copy text from the address book of lightning, against duty open entry?

I know, it is not possible to highlight and copy the text visible in the pane above it, with all the entries in address book or Contact. Am I missing a way to do this?

It would, of course, the use of the address book in lightning much easier and faster to use if we could do. Please note that I did not edit. Instead, it is necessary to go through the same steps as if editing. That is, open properties and select the appropriate tab, highlight & copy said information, instead just to be able to quickly copy the text you want.

It's just two more clicks and the conclusion of the text, which can be cumbersome in some Windows Small field, especially for the notes, but when you do it often, he of course becomes a pain. Notes, in particular, becomes a mini database to enter address, be it your personal record for product information for something (which could be extended if many of the parts of something like a specific computer have been identified), bought to share other contact information.

A third is used especially when we need to get impossible to remember, like your BTC account security information. Keeping in the address book on a home computer, adds a little more security, but you can access it easily.

Add more functions to the AddressBook allows several functions of copy.

  • How to set auto-complete command in the address bar?

I have recently updated to Firefox 3 to 8.

In Firefox 3, when I chose an address outside of the AutoComplete list, very often, he would finally reach the top of the list, so I could just enter a single character and press to enter.

In Firefox 8, which no longer works. An address that I only used one time stays on top, for a site I visit daily.

How to return to the behavior of Firefox 3?

If you are familiar with the evolution of your entries in config for Firefox, you can tell Firefox to ignore domain prefixes. See: setting up and using "correction" without the quotes in the filter bar, see the following.

In the meantime, try entering "orf" and "fahr" in the url/address bar rather than qualify the FQDN. I believe that this new behavior is by design.

  • How to remove the search bar in a new tab window so that I can have nine tiles instead of only six?

I used to get nine tiles when I open a new tab. All of a sudden I get 6 votes against and a search bar at top. All attempts to remove the search bar failed. I tried to change the rows and columns in topic: config and I learned about the use of Ctrl/scroll to shrink the tiles to allow more screen. This is a dispute over what to happen. Is it possible to get rid of the search bar, or is it possible to get the nine tiles narrowed to arrive when I click on a new tab rather than having to scroll? Thanks for your help.

  • Always open the addresses entered in a new tab

When I type a URL in the address existing tab bar, the new address must open in a new tab. In this way, that I must start by opening a new tab and type in the address of this place.
This great feature is available in front Browser, & that's why I use this browser since ages.

I don't know of an add-on for that.

The methods I know to load the URL into a new tab must use either:

    • ALT + Enter instead of a simple entry
    • CTRL + click on the arrow instead of a plain click

As a keyboard oriented person, I usually use the first. He also works in the search bar.
