How to divide a library iTunes by a divorce.

My husband and I have always shared an iTunes account, but are now divorced. We have thousands of songs that we have downloaded or bought over the years. How can this be divided? There are a lot of songs I bought and downloaded that I want in my separate account.

All purchases are permanently associated with the account that has downloaded, it cannot be transferred to another account - you will need to include the account in your divorce settlement

  • How to manage the library iTunes (Mac) 30 GB on 8 GB Clip +?

Hi there I just got my first player non-iPod, 8 GB Clip +.

I have my music on a Mac with iTunes I used to sync with an iPod using playlists according to genre or mood (using the fields of comments for example chill/run/etc.).  This way I could scroll my library as with each iPod synchronization of tracks information has been updated and replaced with new songs.  Very handy and, apart from the implementation of the selections, fully automatic.

Now with the Clip + I know I can only drag & drop from my Mac.  I know someone here wrote a script for iTunes playlists, but I don't think these can be automatically updated with each synchronization that the Clip does not communicate with iTunes.

I looked through some of the threads here and it seems that most of you listen to just their music according to artist or album.  So I wonder how power users here are listening to their music videos to get the most out of their largest libraries and ensure that they listen to their library tracks in the long term.

    Thank you.

First thing, I suggest you becomes an expansion card... look a bit online, and you can usually find a card 8 GB under $20 and a 16 GB for about $40. For $200, you can get a 32 GB card, but for most of us, 32 GB cards can wait a while.

If you add a 16GB, which gives you a total usable 22.73 GB, which is what I have. From there on, my answer to try to keep a bit in contact with the entire collection is the random play mode. Activate random playback, select Play All, and there you go. If I have a penchant for an artist in particular that day, I can slect Play All for just this artist with shuffle turned on... then if I've got a new album, I'll listen to it in the appropriate method until I know that album... then he will enter in the random rotation.

My library total will not be on the Clip + as it is, and even if I had a 32 GB card, it wouldn't hold everything... but I found that with my 22,73 GB I can wear anything I might want to listen to on a day given... and shuffle mode will bring up the songs that I would not have thought to play artists can I thought for awhile.

Enjoy your Clip +... it can be a quite as transparent experience for a user of Mac, but there have been discussions here in the forums about how the Sansa and Macs work together.

I copied all my movies on external hard drive, but cannot create a name of folder that iTunes will recognize that the library. • How can I keep my iTunes library to a new installation of iTunes?

    Hello

I got a new SSD and re-installed Windows 7 and all my software, including iTunes.

I have my iTunes Library (iTunes Media folder) on a data reader and now I reinstalled iTunes and I want to keep the old library, so in the preferences, I put my iTunes library to the path leading to my old iTunes library, but the music still does not appear in iTunes. The only music that shows it's the music purchased from the iTunes store, but no CD-imports are shown.

I hope someone can help me with this,

    Thanks in advance!

    Lars

If you have the iTunes database files, launch iTunes with the SHIFT key pressed and select the library that contain. If you can't seem to them, made the iTunes Media folder inside the application window open iTunes or automatically add to iTunes folder; all the old library metadata that are lost.

  • Not all films in view of library iTunes on iPad

I use the latest version of iTunes (12.4.2.4) on my iMac running OS X 10.11.6 and the latest iOS version (9.3.3) on my iPad 3, but not all of the movies I have in my iTunes library appear in the movies section of my iPad 3. I don't want the actual movies on my iPad, because of space constraints, just want to be able to access it from my iPad, but, since they do not appear on my iPad - even if they appear in iTunes on my iMac and my AppleTV in my list of "Bought" - How can they be accessed?

    Thank you!

How do you read your iTunes library on your computer from your iPad 3?

  • How to add music to iTunes without copying the music files

How to add music to iTunes without music copied to an iTunes Media folder or anywhere else?

I read the answer is to go into the advanced settings and uncheck "Copy files to iTunes Media when adding to library". Which is excellent and this option is not checked, but iTunes keep copy of the music into an iTunes Media folder...

Anything ripped CD, converted, downloaded from the iTunes Store or added via the automatically add to iTunes folder will eventually iTunes Media. If you add a folder of files stored outside the media folder and the option is disabled, then iTunes should not be generating copies in the media folder. Can you describe a specific example where you can see the new arrival before and after importation?

As a backup to one side and the migration of an iTunes library is much easier if all the content is organized inside the iTunes Media folder, but this is no reason not to try and find out why things are not behave correctly for you now.

  • How to uncheck songs in iTunes 12, or revert to a previous version

I regret to have updated my iTunes to 12 points, today no matter what. I used to just uncheck a song for the have deleted from my camera when synchronized, but still in my library iTunes for possible later use. Please, please tell me that the feature is still there somehow.

After the update, what I see is the songs with checks by them, and that's all rather grey... No matter how much I click the checkmarks, they remain the same, checked. It seems no more unchecking.

Read the help, it seems to say that you can uncheck the songs. However, it is very vague, and it does not work. By clicking the checkmark does nothing.

    Help, please.

    Thank you.

  • ICloud automatically and periodically backup my documents, library iTunes and iPhoto library in the cloud?

ICloud automatically and periodically backup my documents, library iTunes and iPhoto library in the cloud?  If so, how?  Do I need to do it manually, or is this automatic, like Mozy?

You mention iPhoto, which means that you may have about the backup of a Mac. iCloud does not back up your Mac, you must use Time Machine (or other backup software) and an external hard drive.

  • iTunes error: the library iTune .itl file is locked. On a locked disk or you do not write to this file permission

    Original title: iTunes

I have just updated from XP to 7. I downloaded Windows Easy Transfer, but it wouldn't work if I copied all my files on my external drive myself.

Once Windows 7 had loaded, I started to transfer them to my computer.

I tried just down load iTunes 10.1.1 from the internet, and everything seemed to go ok.

But iTunes is not working and I get the following message "the library iTune .itl file is locked. "On a locked disk or youdo not write permissionfor this file."

I saw this message on iTunes support and it is said that the 'My music' folder is located in the default location in Windows XP.

Does that mean I lost my music and what should I do to be able to access/download the iTunes player.

I have songs on different drives so I have quite lost music. I am simply unable to play my iTunes library because I can't access the drive.

    Thank you.

P.s. I'm not very good with computers.

    Hello

Change the permissions on the folder / my music/itunes (and all subfolders and files) so that it is not "read-only".
    Here's how:
    a. by doing a right click on the name of the iTunes folder, and then select Properties.
    b. you will see the read-only check box. Make sure it is disabled.

How can I connect to iTunes that it used to work now it isn't

When happens when you connect the iPod to your computer running iTunes?  You say it does not appear in iTunes at all?

Look at the screen of the iPod when you connect it to the USB port on the computer?  He said not 'connected' or 'do not disconnect' or give another indication of a data connection?  Or is it just to show battery charge symbol?  Or not it reacts at all to be connected?

  • How to disable iCloud on iTunes and my iPod Touch

I have a serious frustration with iCloud and my iPod Touch (latest generation).   I have purchased music from iTunes and download on my IPod with no problem.    The problem arises when I play the iPod to my bluetooth speaker.   The music will not play unless I have Wi Fi.  This has never happened before, and it seems to be associated with the songs that have the symbol of iCloud.   Is this true?  Subsequently, I have the WiFi?    I use my speaker for iPod/blue tooth when I'm on my bike.   Last year I logged on my bike nearly 1500 miles of road.  I desperately need my songs.

When you see a track with the iCloud on this symbol, it means that the track has NOT been downloaded on your device. That's why you need Wi - Fi to listen to.

You can download the tracks you want when you're connected, or you can activate iCloud music library iTunes is in the settings and preferences.

  • Symbolic link to ~/Library/iTunes

I spend my time between a MacBook and Mac mini, to take into account what I moved my iTunes and other data on an external drive. For iTunes, I already moved ~/Music/iTunes (using the option key to select the new location) and ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup (using a symlink to point to the external location). Today, I noticed that iTunes downloaded a update of iOS who suffered from my iPad, probably because I've updated on the other Mac.

Is there a downside to moving and creating a symbolic link to ~/Library/iTunes (where the iOS updates are stored)? Are there other iTunes directories that would be more beneficial to have on the external hard drive so that they would move between Macs?
