  • LR4.1: 'Edit In' > 'open as Smart Object in Photoshop... "function. "does not work with 32-bit

    Hello

    I am running LR4.1/CS5/ACR6.7 on a Win7 64 bit system.

    The function 'Edit-In' > 'open as Smart Object in Photoshop... '. "works Ok with raw files (.) (NEF).

    However, when I try to use the same functionality with 32-bit. TIFF files (which came out of the LR4.1 'Edit' > 'Merge to HDR Pro in Photoshop...) ("another feature), nothing happened (the Photoshop windows application opens but out of the picture I have just chosen).

    I used engines research and Adobe online help to see if there was any limitation preventing the use of this feature with 32-bit. TIF files but could not see this note.

    Thanks for your help!

    Have you tried convert your 32-bit Tiff in a DNG (could save first...)?

    The new DNG specification is supposed to manage higher-bit images. Maybe the DNG format you will get beyond the issue.

  • How to detect smart objects in Photoshop?

    Hello

    I need to detect the smart objects files related to local level to specific JavaScript locations in the HTML5 extension. How can I do this?

    Consider this pseudo-code:

      if (app.documents.length)
      {
        var doc = app.activeDocument;
        for (var ilayer = 0; ilayer < doc.artLayers.length; ilayer++)
        {
          var layer = doc.artLayers[ilayer];
          if (LAYER_IS_LINKED_SMART_OBJECT(layer))

          }
        }
      }

    Here, I need implementations of two functions:

    1 LAYER_IS_LINKED_SMART_OBJECT()

    2 GET_SMART_OBJECT_REFERENCED_FILEPATH()

    Thank you in advance!

    Here is the final solution (with no error checking):

    How can I get the authorization code of Adobe for re - activate Photoshop CS?  It worked fine until I updated Windows 7 Windows 10.

    The activation for Cs2 servers and more have been disabled by Adobe, and they offer a free download of CS2, which comes with a new serial number and doesn't require activation.

    There is no need to register your old software, follow the instructions in the link I gave you and download CS2. The series number is next to the download.

  • How to edit smart objects?

    Hello:

    I searched on Youtube, etc. manual Adobe for tutorials, information and basically how to as Smart Objects.

    First of all, I would like to know how to change a smart object. I read that you can change them if so far I could not find anything that will teach me exactly how I go on a smart object editing and how and then reinsert it into the work.

    I made a calendar icon where a single layer is a dynamic object. Later, I wanted to change the color of the layer. Then, I clicked on the smart object layer and it opened in another window but when I chose a new color and tried to fill it out I was unabel to do.

    So, if you are already aware of a place where I can learn more I'd greatly appreciate links that you may have.

    I'm still not very good with key words to find what I need, but I'm learning.

    As always, thank you for your time

    In photoshop, double-click the thumbnail in the layers panel. It will open the smart object, so you can change it. Be sure to save to update. More info on photoshop, feel free to create a new post to the thread in the forum of photoshop, this c.pfaffenbichler kindly posted for you.

  • How to use smart objects to make models?

    Hey guys,.

    I was download a few models to use in my wallet and I want to start making my own for some I can not find on the web. I managed to do an asset realistic looking for what I want, but I don't know how to add text and other things. Usually, when I open a downloaded PSD mockup I double-click on the smart object, edit the content, press on save and BOOM it is perspective for whatever I change.

    However, I made dynamic object and I am trying to edit the content, so when I double click it just opens the new and all purpose that I created ad, but it does not save the prospect. If that makes sense... (see the screenshots)

    So my question is,

    How to make a dynamic object to change the content (text, images, logo, etc. etc.) on a plain PSB and PSD so it registers in the corner or point of view I want? Is there something different that I do. Can we make a step by step guide?

    It's my design until I double click on the smart layer

    Here is the image when I double click on the active layer (not exactly what I want).

    Here's a mockup I downloaded when I double click on the next show pictures of what I want.

    That's what I want to do in my design of the original, but how do I get the text to do it with a smart object? I want to change the text in my design and apply (not necessarily this design, but my own) to my dynamic object (first image), I created in photoshop. How can I do this?

    Screen Shot 2013-10-11 at 3.14.11 PM.png

    Make the text of the same size or larger and put it into a smart object: filter > convert to smart object.  Without it, you can turn the text, but you do not have as many transform options.  Once you have the text in the dynamic object, select Edition > transform > warp.  Then you can drag the corner of the text points to fit the shape of the card.

  • How to duplicate a smart object and then modify it, without affecting the original?

    I have an element of vector illustrator that I am placed in a t-shirt mockup in photoshop. I have the provision essentially how I want, but I'm trying different color variations. I think that simply duplicate the initial placement and then change the color of the copy resulting, but this affects both the copy and the original. I looked into it a little further and found that I should try the option "replace contents" under smart objects, and that it would change the copy. Then I go back to illustrator, made a copy of the original vector and then the color change I had in mind and then saved as a separate document that I could use then by replacing the contents of the copy. However, still affects two smart objects!

    I tried this like linked smart objects and smart objects shipped without success.

    In the end, I just want to maintain the position of the original layer with the layer duplicated and edited. If you know a better way, please share!

    Layer > Smart Object > new Smart Object by copy. It forks a new, independent so (cut and paste or duplicate maintains the link between them).

    When you double-click the SO thumbnails in the layers panel, it opens the SO in the main application, in this case to have.

    Do Save your changes (not save money, unless you want to distribute the SO in a separate file, normal).

  • Could not complete your request because the smart object is not directly editable

    Well, I'm trying to simply remove a background but photoshop won't let me do. It comes up with the error:

    Could not complete your request because the smart object is not directly editable

    I read on the internet, saying that I should "rastize" my diaper. I googled rastize, but I couldn't find a good answer is that rastize. Also, I tried to translate rastize into my mother tongue, but it also says rastize. However, my photoshop is in Dutch. I couldn't find the option 'rastize '. What should I do? Here is a screenshot:

    Rasterization is to flatten just this particular layer. Since you are using is a smart object, you can double click top in the layer panel and edited directly, or you can rasterize it. It is always better to do a non-destructive editing, so you really need to use a layer mask to remove the background rather than delete it. However, the position of pixelation here is a layer in the menu:

  • Vector Illustrator to Photoshop Smart objects is more editable...?

    I've just updated my CC and experiencing some weird behaviors between Illustrator and Photoshop. I always start in Illustrator to make my designs (logos, etc. for the vector art) and then build in Photoshop for brochures and other media. I always copied and pasted as smart objects (from Illustrator into Photoshop) and production wise, this is a quick easy workflow - I can go back and change my smart objects by clicking twice if necessary changes.

    However, after update CC two days ago, I feel something I've never seen. When I paste the graphic Illustrator (such as a smart object) I can no longer double-click the layer to edit in Illustrator - I am panic and need help! What they have done or what has changed? It's ruining my workflow and I would really appreciate the help. The alert script error I get when I double click on the vector smart object is "this element is not directly editable in photoshop, but it can be placed in a document. To move the item, drag it into an open document. "Why I'm doing this and why they would change?

    Help, please

    The interest to place the vector in Photoshop is not hunting for the dynamic object - it is much too long and then go back to Illustrator. Is there a way to express my concerns?

    Your first message is at odds with your last. You said in your first post that you double-click to edit a vector pasted in Photoshop into Illustrator. Then you say you want to go back to Illustrator and "hunt for the object."

    As long as you have the option "add to my current library" unchecked when pasting, it should work as before. Is there something I'm missing here?

  • Smart object editing: move the tool doesn't work does not correctly

    If I use Photoshop via 'open as smart object in Photoshop' in Lightroom, make a selection (using the magnetic lasso) then try to move the selection, the whole image moves (and not only the selection).

    But if I edit the image via "Edit in Photoshop" I can make a selection and move it properly. What I'm doing wrong with the function "smart object"?

    Hi quilkin,.

    This is an expected behavior for a dynamic object. When you 'Open as smart object,' Lightroom going on your original (usually raw image) source file to PS and PS places in a wrapper (the dynamic object) and returns a flattened image of the result.

    When you double-click the thumbnail of the dynamic object, you can change the contents of the dynamic object. If your original data is a raw file, this will open in Camera Raw.

    If you want to select an area and make changes, you must do one of two things:

    1. Rasterize the smart object (which defeats the purpose of having a dynamic object), or
    2. Make a rasterized copy on a top layer (create a new layer above the smart object, and then press Ctrl-Alt-Shift-E or Cmd-Opt-shift-E to "Merge visible layers". Make your changes on the new copy of layer, keeping the original data in the smart object.

    Dynamic objects offer a wealth of versatility, if make you use of their right of way. If you want to learn more about smart objects in Photoshop, check out my series of tutorials on this topic: working with objects in dynamic in Photoshop - a Compilation of tutorial - Mike Hoffman

  • How to avoid the transparent background, white in smart object (psb) conversion when the image track high fidelity that we have the ability to ignore track of white up to 16 colors.

    I have an image psd file in photoshop cc 2014 the layer background transparent. I wanted to convert to vector. The best option I've seen was converted first to a smart object in photoshop by layer-> Smart objects-> convert to smart object. then he exported a CPS. Then I opened the file in illustrator and applied image tracking tool, but the background transparent got converted to white but I had the option to skip white up to 16 trace of color. But in the case of Conversion of high fidelity, the option do not know white is not available, what do I do now?

    After using the Trace of the Image and expand the result, just find a part that is filled with white and use Select > same > fill and just delete.

  • convert to smart object resolution problem

    Hello

    I work for the video game UI and because of that, my photoshop documents always needs to have a resolution of 72 dpi.

    My current problem is that when I convert a few layers to a dynamic object by using the launch of "convert to smart object" menu, Photoshop always gives this new file a resolution of 300 dpi.

    It is very annoying and I don't find in the preferences a way to define a specific resolution of the dynamic object.

    Changing the resolution after the creation of the dynamic object is not a solution (it's a slow process, I need to repeat each time a new smart object is created and the smart object is expanded in the parent document)

    Create a new document with a specific resolution and drag it as a smart object to my parent document is also a slow process, that I can't use as my work files contains many of these intelligent objects.

    So, is there a solution, I'll be very happy to know.

    Thank you!

    Why is that game and poster that matches are played do not follow the ppi. Billboards is manufactured with different PPI and none that I saw the card to have a resolution of 72 dpi. Why the 72 DPI is so important in your workflow?  Are you sure you all image files are recorded with a resolution of 72 dpi setting?   I think the number of pixels you have images and objects, it is what would be important for the games.

    The new feature of the linked smart object has a discrete function but it fundamentally changes our workflow for the better!

    Quick question, is possible to update the paths to the linked smart objects or Photoshop it will work to? I can't see a links under window or file panel so do not know how do you sorry.

    I am about to change these files at home and want to make sure that Photoshop can find the links - but also find everything when I copy everything back on the server and work.

    See you soon

    Ben

    If a link is moved from its location, when you open the file that contains the link, you will get a dialog box asking to located the missing file.
