How to enable the continuation of the Standby Option for a USB mouse: I do not see the "allow this device to wake the system from standby mode' check box__

I use Windows XP Home Edition and I am fully up to date with the latest version of the software.

I would like to activate my mouse USB power out "sleep mode" on my computer.  I found the help topic that describes how to do this: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/280108 how to enable the continuation of the Standby Option for a USB mouse

However, when I follow these steps, I don't see the 'allow this device to wake the system from standby mode ' check box on any of the windows as described in the documentation for Ms.
I use a Microsoft Comfort Optical Mouse 3000 (IntelliPoint) USB

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

This gives a test:

1. click on START
2. click on 'run '.
3 type "notepad" (without the quotes) and press enter
4. copy and paste this into Notepad:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\usb]
"USBBIOSHACKS" = DWORD: 00000000
"USBBIOSx" = DWORD: 00000000

5. click on file > save as
6. change the dropdown to "all files".
7 type usb.reg as the file name and save the file somewhere easy to access
8 go find the file and double click it. Confirm that you want to add it to the registry
9 restart the computer and see if you can wake the system from standby mode

IM now running Vista Home Premium 32. I would like to change the system for Vista Ultimate 64 so I can run more than 4 GB of memory. Now Ive some factory settings if something happened, I can run my HARD drive restore. My question is how to change the Vista 64 operating system, so I can keep the recovery on my hard drive partition?  Mayby there is some kind of upgrade cd?

    Thank you

    Hello

32-bit to 64-bit is not an upgrade

It must be done with a clean installation using a full version ' / Ultimate 64 bit license

Contact the manufacturer of your computer for more information on getting 64-bit ultimate, which I doubt they will always

    and microsoft sells more vista

    they moved on windows 7

  • want HP how to change the system from Russian to English

    Hi guys

It is possible to do this in English?

    regards ben.

    Hi Ben,

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community Forum.

Basically, we need to change the language and regional settings after you install the new language on the system pack to make each look with the applications and the basic functions of configuration. So you will need to consult the following steps and check if you have all the settings in your preferred language.

    1. Press the Windows key + X, and then select Control Panel.
    2. Select clock, language and region (in the view of the categories ).
    3. Click on the language.
    4. In the navigation pane, click Advanced settings .
    5. Under "Override for the Windows display language" select English (preferred location).
    6. Under "Override for the default input method" select English (preferred location).
    7. Click Save.
    8. Reopen the clock, language and region as in step 2.
    9. Click on the region.
    10. On the Format tab, check if the Format is selected as game Windows display language (recommended).
    11. Go to the administration tab, and then select settings... change system locale
    12. Select English (preferably local) , and then click OK.
    13. Yet once, in the administration tab, click copy settings...
    14. Check the check box beside the Welcome screen and system accounts.
    15. Check the box next to new user accounts.
    16. Click OK in the tabs and close the control panel.
    17. Restart your computer.

Check if the language changed to your preferred language.

  • Satellite Pro U300 - how to reinstall the system from original Vista operating?

My Satellite U300 (bought in 2008) came with Vista and a fallback to option of XP pre-installed. I drove back to XP at the time. Now, end of support from Microsoft for XP, I would like to re - install the Vista operating system.
I have the recovery disks, but there is a wizard to help the resettlement?

Or is there a function to restore to original factory setting, which I guess would be Vista? (I backed up all my files where a clean install is required). Any help appreciated, thanks.

I checked the specifications of the laptop and this laptop model was offered with Vista preinstalled and DVD recovery Windows XP Home edition. In General original recovery image can be installed with the recovery disk. You got laptop with Vista pre-installed (without the Vista recovery disk) allowing you to create the Vista recovery disk using the preinstalled Toshiba Recovery Disk Creator.

There is also the option of HARD drive recovery, but it works with the factory only settings. After installing WXP that this HARD drive option will not work more then now you Vista recovery DVDs. Unfortunately in your ad I didn't understand whether or not you have the Vista recovery disk.

If so, just start your laptop and press F12. When the boot menu appears put Vista recovery disc into the optical disc drive, has chosen the CD/DVD on the list in the menu and press ENTER. ODD will start to read the recovery disc and all what you need to do is follow the menu on the screen.

    Hello

Sorry, but you cannot use an internal hard drive for ReadyBoost. Indeed, an SSD can not use ReadyBoost.

This feature can use a USB flash drive external as a hard drive cache to improve the disk read performance.
