How to enable wifi in time capsule

I use the Wi - Fi system router modem Asus wireless but want to switch to wifi in my Time Capsule. The device from Asus is connected by ethernet to both time Capsule and my iMac. How to activate wifi Time Capsule?

Apple provides advice for a first installation, but this does not apply in my case.

Just check the TC in your airport utility.

Click the icon of the TC... then edit at the bottom right of the summary screen...

and go to the wireless tab... Make sure that you create a wireless network.

You can set your computer to join.

I have the previous model of the time Capsule and a new version and two MAC computers. I want to use the Capsule of ancient times to extend my WIFI network. I have a MAC with a new current version of time Capsule in the center of my house. I have a second MAC set up with an earlier version of a time Capsule in my office. Place the old TC in the same room as each other.

    Do a factory reset.

Start from a factory reset. No files are lost on the drive hard in doing so.

    Universal factory reset

Turning off the TC... That is, remove the power supply cord or the power at the wall outlet, wait 10 seconds... Hold the reset button... be nice... Turn on always even now in reset... and keep holding in for another 10 seconds. You may need assistance because it is difficult to hold in reset and power on. It will show the success quickly flashing led front. Release reset... and wait a few minutes for the TC to reset and return with the factory settings. If the front LED flashes quickly you missed and simply try again. The reset is quite fragile in these... Press the key while it is just click away and not more... I've seen people bend lever or even break. I use a toothpick as a tool.

NB. None of your files on the hard drive of the TC are removed... This simply clears the settings of the router of the TC.

Open airport on the Mac utility and configure the old TC... it will automagically want to extend wireless.

Complete the installation, then move the TC to a suitable place where it picks up good signal from the main TC. There is no need to a position of bad signal... then place it where the speed is close to full... but then covers your current area of dark (wifi not light).

    Fact... Voila... easy as pie.

  • Remove/delete a network WiFi of Time Capsule?

How delete/remove a WiFi network that is no longer, I need my Time Capsule?

There are actually two places that can remember a former name of Wi - Fi network: 1) the Time Capsule (TC) and 2) your MacBook Air.

To remove / change the name of the network on the TC you use AirPort Utility, as follows:

    • Run the AirPort Utility.
    • Select the TC and then, select change.
    • Select the wireless tab.
    • Change the unwanted network name in the field "name of the wireless network.
    • Select to update and let the TC restart.

To remove the network name on your MacBook Air:

    • System Preferences > network
    • Select Wi - Fi > advanced
    • In the preferred networks window, select the unwanted network and then click on the button "-".
    • Click OK when you are finished.
  • C4580 - error when setting up connect through WiFi w / Time Capsule

I used my C4580 to print and scann with wireless in the past, a Netgear WiFi router with a DLink WiFi router.  I recently started using a Time Capsule from Apple as my WiFi router.  I have two active groups, so I have a 2.4 GHz signal and a 5 GHz signal available for my wireless products to connect to.  All the other products I use (a MacBook Pro running OS X Lion, an iMac running OS X Lion, a CPU HP running Windows XP, a CPU Dell running Windows 7, a Fujitsu laptop running Windows Vista, Apple TV, an iPhone, and an HTC Evo a TiVo set - top box) are able to connect to one or the other of these signals of network without problem.

    Here's what's happening with the C4580:

    1. I plug my C4580 on my MacBook Pro via USB.

    2. I open the HP installation wizard.

    3. in the first part of the "Setup" section, I select my "Photosmart C4500 series", which shows as connected via 'USB '.

    4. in the second part of the topic "Setup", I check the box "configure yoru device to a wireless network.

    5. in the third part of the "Setup" section, my 5 GHz network is not displayed.  My 2.4 GHz network appears, by dint of complete signal, showing the encryption 'WPA_PSK' and 'Infrastructure' mode  I select this option.

    6. After about two minutes, during which the Setup Wizard probably tries to connect the C4580 to the WiFi network, I get the following error message: "* device not connected * to configure the network settings for the selected device, please temporarily connect it via the USB port.  The device can be disconnected from the USB once the network settings are transferred. »

Note: Throughout this process, my C4500 WAS connected to my MacBook Pro via USB.

Question: What other steps should I take to solve this problem?

    Thanks for your time.

First time that I posted on a forum techy, bt I get a lot of help from them, then it's time to spread the love.

In any case, I was struck by our similar problems were, we have exactly the same set up and the same current. I've been hitting my head against a brick wall for a whole afternoon. Your temporary solution lead me to a very simple implementation and a more permanent solution.

Your normal home network have an apostrophe or special characters, such as YourName Wi - Fi network?

I had two networks put in place (already had a network of comments) called W - Fi Latitude and comments Latitude travel network travel network.

On your advice I tried to use my Gust netowrk. Oddly, when he showed up on the list, it lacked the apostrophe (the other network was not missing the apostrophe). When I tried to click on it, it said that there was not. I tried to type the name in its entirety in the box 'Other networks' and I was able to connect, but the software insisted that even if the printer is now connected, the MacBook was not (even though it was clearly).

The anomaly has led me to believe that the HP Softare along with apostrophes, I went to the airport and renamed the two networks with apostrophes. I gave the private network a go, and voila, everything went well.

It is a lesson in how to make a long story short. Basically, to remove the apostrophes in your network name in the airport and then try again.

  • How can I unforget airport Time Capsule?

I was in the Airport utility and 'forgotten' my Time Capsule airport.  The most convenient airport seems to work very well, but I can see it is no longer in the graphical presentation.  How can I fix so that I see once more the airport?

Try a cycle of complete nutrition of the network as follows:

Power off all devices... modem, routers, computers, iPhones, printers, etc. in the order you want

    Wait a minute

Start the modem and let it run alone for a few minutes

The device connected to the modem to start and keep running a minute

Keep the commissioning of the devices at once a minute outside until the entire network is back

Check if the airport appears now and communicate your results.

IF... the airport does not appear in the utility AirPort... are you still using OS X (10.7.4) on your Mac, you put in your profile, or you have updated to a more recent operating system?  If so, what system would be that?

  • Unstable WiFi with Time Capsule + Booster Express

Hello.  Every night my wi - fi breaks down.  I called Comcast and they swear the internet connection works and routers are the problem. (Internet works with a wired connection).

I have 2 routers: Airport Time Capsule 802.11ac with a Terminal Airport Express 802.11n (2nd generation) in the range extender.  Both are about 1.5 years old.

In the evening, the lights flash yellow and they go in and out.  AirPort Utility often shows messages yellow triangle error.  I can unplug and restart them and often the wi - fi goes back only to go down again later.  In this case all evening.  Increases the frequency and duration of the outage.

If it is in fact a router problem, suggestions on how to solve the problems?

    Thank you very much!

What is the make & model of the Comcast Internet modem brings you your Time Capsule (TC) connected to via Ethernet? Where is the Terminal AirPort situated Express regarding the TC? Same room, another room or different floor? Are they connected by wire or wireless?

  • How can I restore my time capsule documents folder?

I use an iMac OS X El Capitan and support up to a Time Capsule airport running.

One of our user accounts on the iMac ran into problems w access to the apple of the user ID (could not access iCloud preferences, etc.) before doing a clean reinstall of the OS X software, so I opted to try to remove the problematic user account (another account has no problems) and then configure a new user account. It seems (the jury is still pending on that) have toured and account is running normally.

My question now is to restore a subset of the records of the time Machine to the specific user. Is it possible and if yes, can you give me instructions on how to do?

    Thanks in advance.

Migration wizard does not have the granularity you need. It is simply not possible to choose more great lines.

So, you'll need to do it via the standard recovery... method that looks like you have never used.

This is the basic method of use Time Machine, you will need to learn how do.

TM open via icon in the dock. If this isn't in the dock it from applications.

All you have to do is open TM...

Go to the date when the user has always existed.

Now in the finder as the interface.

Go to the user that you want to restore... I suggest that you actually just take the folder of any user.

Sorry I can't take screenshots inside the TM... so if this is not clear look at a standard youtube video, of which there are hundreds.

It's the old version... but it is clear and well spoken.

    https://www.YouTube.com/watch?v=6bcf54aRBPk

Restore now all the folder to somewhere else... maybe not even on your hard drive, but on a USB key or a convenient place.

Once the entire restored user to a location, you can then choose say all the documents in the documents folder and copy it directly to the new user that you created, file documents... same thing for music, even for photos etc... the actual application should always be connected libraries... which will make you within itunes or photos, etc..

Our great master guru on this stuff is Pondini, who died some time ago... and it is a few obsolete versions... but it is always interesting to read.

About the use of configuration and migrate...

    http://pondini.org/TM/home.html

    The real using TM

    http://pondini.org/TM/FAQ.html

The restoration is Q14-17 and fairly detailed.

I made an example using method pondini... just iphoto, but gives a good idea how do...

Cannot access old files on time capsule

If you want to just retrieve the documents folder say... Then, you can use the same method... Simply select the entire folder.

The permissions problems arise often... but once the files on your local disk, you can correct them.

  • boosters of WiFi and time Capsules

I want to increase my wifi signal, and I'm getting conflicting advice. I use my Time Capsule as my source wifi. I see a numebr of extenders of wifi on Amazon, but it works best with TC? Are these devices plug - and p; Ay?

What works the 'better' with the TC is either another TC AirPort Extreme and AirPort Express base station as all of them use the same propriety technology to extend a wireless network.

  • How can I configure my Time Capsule wireless for backups

I recently changed the ADSL broadband cable. So it took to move my modem to the other side of the room where my cable connection. When I got the computer, modem, ADSL modem and the TC were a few feet from each other. However - now I have a wireless connection between my mac and the gateway Max Telstra modem and works very well. However, the TC has a yellow light hard now and does not connect to the internet. I can't the airport to recognize it as a base station and I think to be able to return to the company the automatic backups, I need to somehow get the TC identified as a base station. Would that be correct? I don't know if the yellow led indicates that the HARD drive in the unit has failed, but I begin to suspect this. Or - should I be plugging the TC on the modem and then try to have the computer to connect with the TC through the other side of the room?

There are two ways to deal with the problem.

However, the TC has a yellow light hard now and does not connect to the internet.

Amber hard... which means no flashing is a very bad sign.

Do a reset on the TC.

Plug it into the Telstra modem and see if the front LED will turn to blinking orange.

If it remains solid amber a failed hard drive is the most likely cause...

Tell me what model it is... A1xxx of the base unless it is from the top.

Another suggestion is to purchase a 2.5 "1 TB or 2 TB drive self-powered. That plug into your iMac and use it for backups... It is faster, cheaper and more reliable than the replacement of the TC.

I'm in Melbourne... my email is available in the profile... so feel free to talk to me direct.
