  This might help

  Press the SETUP button on the control panel of your printer.
  Using the arrows, select DEVICE SETTINGS, press OK.
  Select local network SETTINGS, then press OK.
  Select Configuration LAN wireless, and then press OK.
  If a message appears, press the WPS button, press STOP to cancel.
  Select STANDARD INSTALLATION in the next screen that appears, and then press OK.
  Select your access point or router, and then press OK.
  Press OK to confirm the access point name.
  Enter your password using the numeric keypad on the right.
  On the screen where you enter your password at the top right of the LCD screen, you should see a: 1. This indicates you are in digital input mode. If you press the asterisk (*) will be fixed: has or uppercase mode, pressing asterisk with tiny switch. To enter a letter in letter mode, you press the digital key to scroll through the available letters. For example: to enter a letter 'c', you press the '2' three times.

  I have a form of inspection put in place for the health/restaurant inspectors.    Often during an inspection, they need get food temperatures and want to use the degree symbol.    They run this form on a tablet pc convertible, so a normal keyboard is not available for them in tablet mode and in laptop mode using the combination ALT + 0176 is always a PITA bread, because the keyboard doesn't have a full numeric keypad and people using this form are not the most computer people there in order to activate the endable keys function keys , then enter an ASCII code several times during an inspection.

  I was looking for a suggestion on how to inforporate something in the form in order to get the degree symbol into any text field, they run in the position of the cursor.

  The idea, I look for are:

  1.) command A button that inserts the symbol, but I'm afraid that by clicking on the button would lose focus of the destination field and it would be necessary to have a lot of scripts to remember which field was the last that they were to put it in the right pair.

  2.) event button or on the charge that inserts somehow the degree symbol to the Clipboard in Windows, but during an inspection, they can copy and paste something else so it compensation to.

  (3.) a kind of auto-remplacer text.  Not sure if this is possible in a form of adobe.  For example if they type 'deg' have the auto form replace it at "°".

  (4.) a special key press.  Not sure if Adobe can tell a special sequence of keys not used by Adobe and Windows, CTRL + D, hurry once insert a degree symbol in the current location.

  5.) kind of place a special icon on the toolbar of Adobe to insert the degree symbol in the place currently?

  Those who have some ideas that I think.  Many are probably dead ends.   If you have had this problem, how will you address it?

  I ended up using a simple replacement that I was mentining in my previous post, as to the types of inspectors "blah blah blah at 51 deg blah blah blah" and then leaves the field, FormCalc will replace the "deg" with "° F" so that the text now reads "blah blah blah blah blah blag from 51 ° F".

  I just need to train my inspectors to type "deg" exactly to have already it automatically.

  Replace "deg" by "° F" when the user leaves the field.

  $.rawValue = replace ($.rawValue "deg", "° F")

  You can force numbers does not interpret the value as a number by typing the single quote... like this:

  120/72

  the column text format or

  or enter systolic diastolic and columns in then next:

  Systolic	Diastolic
  120	72
  124	80

  Just tried to add the degree symbol in the symbols menu. The label appeared but when I tried to use 'x' has been inserted instead of the degree symbol. Suspecting that the definition (< \xB0 definition >) is incorrect. Have tried to change the definition of cmds to something which does not (plusminus < \xB1 definition >) and all seems OK with that.

  I use FM9.0p196 on Windows 7.

  Tried to search the forum for this topic, but have had difficulty obtaining results for even the simplest search criteria!

  What you had initially specified (\xb0) is a degree using the Symbol font encoding. For the equivalent to a standard police character of ring, the coding of the FM is \xfb or ANSI 0176. However, when you add these items to the menus, FM uses the definitions of order coded in the file \fminit\configui\wincmds.cfg. These control definitions specific keystrokes of platform uttilize to work around the problems of encoding unicode.

  To add the degree symbol definition to the SpecialSymbols menu in the file menus.cfg, it would be entered as:

  For future reference, if you want to add any more special charactters the SpecialSymbols menu, use predefined FM commands. They are all defined in the file wincmds.cfg from the line 574 in the "-universal Extension to the characters"section.

  Van - are you reading this?  I saw your recent post that says to create an item that represent (in fact you were talking about specifically spaces and nonbreaking hyphens, but I think it would be similar) in ESD, but I can't tell how to do that.  It would be an element containing a "symbol of the hyhenation remove" itself - created by the practice: 'Esc n s' in the document itself, but I do not know what type of element I should create, or how.  I get about it until now:

  Rules of prefix
  In all contexts.
  Range of text.

  .. so I can't say how to actually insert the symbol.

  Otherwise, maybe I could do it in read/write rules, but I don't see any framework document, which includes how to map a symbol of hyphen to repress. I don't know how the framework represents internally - as an entity?

  I forgot to add that if the sole purpose of the element is to insert the symbol of hyphenation to suppress, then the general rule should be , not . If the text value, when you enter the item, the insertion point will be inside the element, waiting for the user to type the text. Because there is no text to type, the user must move the insertion point to the outside of the item to continue.
