How to export address book in outlook express 6 for window live mail?

I can't find a compatible format of address book for outlook window live mail express 6

Open the address book in OE and file | Export | Address book (wab) and save it to the desktop. Copy it to a flash drive. Place it on the desktop or another location on the computer using WLMail.

For WLMail 2009: Open list of Contacts in WLMail, (go |) Contacts in the Menu bar) and the file | Import | Address book (wab) Windows and the point where you saved it.

WLMail 2011/2012: switch to the contacts window (click on the book icon to the address at the foot of the folders pane, or press Ctrl-3). Click on the import button, select address book (wab) Windows and point on where it was saved.

Note: If you use a CD or a DVD instead of a flash drive, after placing on the new machine you must remove the read-only attribute in the properties before you import.

This has been addressed several times before, but I am struck errors whenever I try to perform an import.

I indicated Live Mail of Win7 in the sense of a perfectly fine case contain two XP Outlook Express 6's *.dbx files imported those files into Outlook and have exported to a *.pst file (in the same folder).

During an attempt or import I get the same message: "no messages are located in this folder or another application is using the files.

Whereas the process is so simple I can't work on what I'm doing wrong.

    Any help would be appreciated.

  • How to export my yahoo address book in outlook express 6? Microsoft opens with cannot open a... .csv file

I need to export my Yahoo address book to Outlook Express 6. When I try, a window appears saying I want to find or save this file? I click on search and then my page redirects to Microsoft says I have a csv file and no way to open it.

    Hi sntuld,

-What, exactly, is a transcript of the error message that you receive?

You must save the .csv (contacts file) of the Yahoo address book file, and then import the file into Outlook Express.

If you are looking for the recorded .csv file, use the search function and check if you can find the file.

  • Conversion of Outlook Express .dbx to Microsoft Live Mail issue box for receiving and sending files conversion

I am able to convert most of my old Outlook Express files to Microsoft Live Mail, with the exception of the Inbox, and send files.   The two files are not empty.  My OS is Windows 7 64 bit.  The 'Files' file is located in the directory with the .dbx files.  Most of the files have been converted except these two.  The converted file sent.

Can advise you on what to do to fix this?  I need the information contained in the Inbox, and send.   I have more access to Outlook Express.

    Best regards, Kat

Unless you left no messages in the Outbox, it must be empty. Messages are just going through there on the way to your mail server.

Folders.dbx is the "brain" of the system of dbx files and contains all the actual messages.

Now regarding the messages from the Inbox, I don't know why they won't matter in Windows Live Mail. You compact the folders in OE before saving the message store? WLMail has great trouble with import of dbx files. How do you backup and transfer the storage of OE with dbx files folder?

If you still have access to the machine with OE, it would be easy to fix. Given that you don't do it, you probably have two options.

If you have professional, enterprise or ultimate edition, you can use OE in XP Mode. Who can import all the messages and then we can transfer it to WLMail.

If you cannot use the XP Mode, and can not find an OE to 'borrow' to a friend, you will need a recovery tool. Unfortunately, it is not free.

If you mean MS Office Outlook, (i.e. 2003, 2007, 2010, etc.), which is an e-mail like the WLMail client and should not be "installed" in WLMail.

  • How can I create groups"in my list of Contacts Windows Live Mail?

I could easily create "Groups" for e-mailing to multiple receipents in Outlook Express.  Now with Windows Live Mail, it seems impossible.  Is there a way to create "groups" in WLM?  And, if so, why their No. easily accessible way to accomplish?

Windows Live Mail does not groups, but you can get much the same effect by using the categories. Here are a few comments that should help you: what happened to contact groups? Although they are part of Windows Live Mail 2011, you should be able to adapt to the 2009 version.
