How to force firefox to use internal device fonts not Web page fonts.

You can set browser.display.use_document_fonts to 0 in: config. Note that this will remove the style of sites and may result in websites being unreadable.

    Hi Haubhaus,

I know one thing to get your links to always open in a new window:
    1. Right-click on your desktop, select new, then shortcut
    2. Type "" C:\Program may Explorer\IEXPLORE. "." EXE" and click Next
    3. Name the shortcut (for example: Microsoft Home) and click Finish
    4. Right-click on the new shortcut and select Properties
    5. In the target box, arrow over until the end of the path, add a space and add -new (WEBSITEPATH). When your finished, your path should look like this:
      "" C:\Program may Explorer\IEXPLORE. "." "EXE" - new www.microsoft.com
    6. Click OK and try it!
Let me know if it works or if I can be of further assistance!

  • How to force Firefox to Android to use LTE instead of WiFi?

Firefox for Android AUTOMATICALLY reconnects to the WiFi if I have NEVER connected to the WiFi in the past. Sometimes I want to use WiFi, and sometimes I want to use LTE with Firefox. How can I force Firefox to STOP using the WiFi connection and use the LTE connection? Note that simply kill WiFi on Android does not work; Firefox simply uses his past knowledge of the WiFi network and access code to launch WiFi alone. I HATE the apps that think they know better than the user...

Sorry, the user misfires (once again for the millionth time, I guess).

WiFi was set to "Auto-connect" at the launch of applications of high-usage data. Switch is in settings, connections, WiFi (tap to set up). I never watched here because I've always had the 'OFF' WiFi and thought (wrongly) that there was no switch configuration for a feature that was 'OFF '. Live and learn. Sorry again to waste your time; Maybe this will help another smartphone newbie...

Thanks much for your quick, complete and CORRECT answer to my question, Roland.

  • How can I force Firefox to download mp3 files and NOT play?

    Hi guys,.

I couldn't change the settings of Firefox in this way, that it does not play mp3 files at all (in any kind of player), but allows to decide what with them for example to download the file.

    What I actually did:

    - changed at settings, that I want a dialog or download any file type and NOT use any other option (yes, all of them - not any kind of effect was seen there...)
    - changed especially all mp3-related options to download
    - deactivated ALL plugins and addons
    - about:config -> media.windows-media-foundation.enabled -> false
    - uninstalled ALL types of mediaplayers (Winamp, VLC etc.), but not WMP because it would be very complicated and would cause several bugs

Many updates before (I think it's up to 20 FF or if) you could simply tell FF, I tried to download the file via the settings and now it isn't.

Is it possible to left I can force Firefox to NOT READ mp3 files in any player and offer my the possibility to download?

Please do NOT give answers like:

    - right click on the file and save it as ... I allready know that and do not want to use that solution. A few years before it was possible, so it should also be possible to directly click at the file and decide what to do with it. On all the sites I want to use it the possibilities are given and not blocked by the sites or implementations itself.

I thank very you much for your help in advance. I'm desperately trying to find an answer to this question for months...

Hello TurZ, please set media.windows - media - foundation.enabled back to its default value and turn media.play - stand alone false instead.

  • How to force Firefox to stop uninstalling

two thumbnails do not appear in Firefox, but I can't open them or close them. I can't open Firefox in safe mode. I can't uninstall Firefox. I can't clear the cache or cookies.
I really need an answer, otherwise I'll just go to another browser and bother with Firefox more. Also can't open the troubleshooting information because I'm having to use Internext Explorer

Could you possibly post a screenshot of what you mean by two thumbnails? Perhaps, these are the page thumbnails that appear on the new tab page (with spaces for the other 7 thumbnails that appear usually there)?

To complete Firefox into memory, you can use the Windows Task Manager.

    • Press Ctrl + SHIFT + ESC to start Task Manager
    • Review the items on the Applications tab for all instances of Firefox (display the icon of the program) and end task if the current window is not visible (if the window is visible, go to this window and use exit)
    • Review the items on the tab process for all instances to firefox.exe and finish the process allows to terminate

Please note that uninstalling and reinstalling Firefox is useful to repair the damaged program files, but often fails to cure other problems based on parameters or files in your personal settings (AKA Firefox profile folder). There is a shortcut to clean this kind of problems... the reset function.

If you can put an end to Firefox and restart to Safe Mode dialog box (hold down the SHIFT key when you launch Firefox), you can try the reset function. It duplicates some data key of your active settings in a new file, bypassing some add-ons and custom settings. Your old settings will be stored in a folder on your desktop. (I recommend to keep that around for a few weeks where you have to save anything to it).

  • How to set printing preferences? all my pages are printed in miniature when I use Firefox, and try to print from a Web page.

I can't print from any Web page, including my hotmail account, without printing the page to about 20% of the normal size. If I use Explorer, I have no problem with printing.

{Ctrl + P} in Firefox and open the properties of this printer - check the paper size setting.

    See this:

If the paper size is correct, do the Reset described in this support article.

  • How to get firefox to display all content of the Web site?

Ex: bloomberg BAT Web site does not display fully, the graph of the section test score is not shown on the page, while that work correctly in Internet Explorer. The problem occurs only in the version 27.0.1. I try to reset firefox, remove it and then reinstall, delete the cookies & caches but none of these works.

Can you help me solve this problem for all content displayed on the page.

    Better subject.

    Kim

You can try the following steps in case of problems with web pages:

You can reload webpages and ignore the cache to refresh potentially stale or corrupt.

    • Hold down the SHIFT key and click the Reload button
    • Press 'Ctrl + F5' or 'Ctrl + Shift + R' (Windows, Linux)
    • Press 'Command + shift + R' (Mac)

Clear the cache and cookies only from Web sites that are causing problems.

    "Clear the Cache":

    • Firefox/tools > Options > advanced > network > content caching Web: 'clear now '.

    'Delete Cookies' sites causing problems:

    • Firefox/tools > Options > privacy > Cookies: "show the Cookies".

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance).

    • Do NOT click on the reset button on the startup window Mode without failure.
  • I switched speed by half. When I restarted Firefox it tries to connect to every web page of my previous session to refresh the pages. This choking my connection. How can I stop this action of auto-refresh? Thank you.

I want my new session to reload my web pages of the previous session of THE CACHE and do not try to reload on every page of the internet. I can start Firefox with the modem disconnected to avoid this problem, but this can take 3 to 5 minutes for Firefox to open this way. (I see the modem flashes as Firefox attempts to connect at this time). If my 56.6 modem is connected, it should be > 60 minutes. (28.8 is the highest speed available in rural areas).

  • How to check email is configured on device or not? in terminal mobile BlackBerry

Hello, I am working on blackberry 9800 java native language. I want to check in my application that if email address is configured on my device or not. I want that:

    If (letter == configured) {Mail is configured on device}

    another (mail1 = configure) {Mail is not configured on device}

Please someone show me example code, I have so much research, but I'm not able to get the exact answer.
I'm new to the blackberry development

"I don't get the answer to my problem exactly.."

It is normal and there is no pleasure simply cut and paste existing code.  Creating your own is a best way to learn is not it?

In this case I would be one of the KB articles rework into a method that returns true or false depending on whether there was an e-mail account on the device.  Then you can choose to display the dialog box easily.

If you're struggling with Java, then this is not the right forum for you.  I recommend to get a book or a go a course.

  • Firefox will lose a link in my Web page as pointing to the same folder as the page is in.

I have a Web page with a link to another Web page. The link is in the form < a href = "http://www.sitename.com"target = "new" >
In Internet Explorer, when I hover over the link http://www.sitename.com address appears at the bottom of the screen, and the page opens without any problem.

However, in Firefox when I hover over the link that appears at the bottom of the screen:

    addressofcurrentpage /------www.sitename.com

and when I click on the link, I get a 404 message telling me that this page does not exist.

Why Firefox is my link for me address rewriting, and how can I get him to stop?

Yes, you must use http:// instead of http:// in the link. Basically, never use a backslash anywhere in a URL in Firefox.

  • Firefox update prevents access to the NAS web page

Firefox is the likely cause of the web administration of a Buffalo Linkstation Live 1 TB network attached page being inaccessible storage device.

    This has happened

    Each time Firefox opened

is every attempt to open the NAS web administration page after that Firefox updated to level to 3.6.6

With some effort, this has been resolved. and it is the browser of the cause.

Test with configuration as a result of security changes made no difference to the outcome of the error reported. It took uninstalling internet security suite to expose Firefox as being the cause. The default settings have been the "use system settings" option in the tools/options/advanced/network Panel. I never had the opportunity to change something in this space, because I started using Firefox, and when I installed the Sep 09 NAS, access via FF using the ip_address was the norm.

However, when you attempt to connect using FF to the security suite 'not there' a proxy not responding error occurred, which was the point on the cause. The FF network Commission review, a manual selection of the proxy server and if no proxy for local connections was the required patch. He continued to work after security suite has been reinstalled. A jpg of this working configuration image is attached.

In the last 6 months FF suffered a number of updates. One of those - most likely 3.6.4 or 3.6.6 - changed something in FF mode of local network connection management. In which case the same ip addresses in the address bar previously authorized were no longer allowed - all without talking to the user in the update until the condition occurred in operations.

This is the second time a mozilla product did that for me, on the automatic update, and I'm upset that a good product may be contaminated by defects of design and testing in this way. Updates automatic for FF and TBird are off my calendar. If the effects of the end of a change are not complete and explained in detail - I don't use it. the pain of the errors that it is caused is considerable.
