  I have never generated an Excel via CF before and was hoping that someone here could help me? I looked through past discussions and I don't think they fully responded to my questions. What I have to do is to create a piece of code that I plan to run at a given interval of time that will generate an Excel using data queried, save the file to the server, and then e-mail the file Excel to a seller. It seems feasible to me, I do not know how to approach it. I saw last son people using the tag < cfcontent > to generate excellent data formatted in a browser, but I need these data will actually be displayed in excel. Help, please.

  Well, I wasn't going with the CSV, I came up with my own solution which generates the Excel file, it saves on the server and it emails for which either with all the good excel formatting. That's how I did it, I hope this can help someone else in the future...

  You have a number of different options to get data from the data portal DIAdem to Excel:

  1) record in TDM or PDM file and use the free Excel TDM importer to load the data into Excel

  2) Save to CSV file and use the Excel import feature built-in ASCII file to load the data into Excel

  (3) load the GPI - DLLS gfsexcel.dll and use the "file > save under...". ' option to export a data *.xls file

  (4) use an own VBScript to automate one of the above 3 options

  (5) use a VBScript custom to directly send each channel data of the data portal to a column of values in Excel via ActiveX

  (Option 1) and (2) are easier if you want a purely interactive solution.  Option 1) exports all data and all the properties values.  Option 2) exports all data values and the name of each channel in the data portal, but none of the other properties.  If you choose to use option 3), know in advance that this feature is limited to 255 columns and will not export custom properties, only the properties that existed in DIAdem 8.1.  (Option 4) can add in any custom properties that do not appear in option 2).  Option 5) can export all data and all custom, properties but there are also the slowest option and implies more programming.

  I have never done this, but it might be useful.

  To bring back a deleted file (or folder) using shadow copies / previous versions, right-click the folder used to hold the file (or folder), then choose restore previous Versions. Then click on the version of the file you want to resurrect and drag it to the desktop. At this point, you can open the file and search around inside - your deleted files (and folders) are still there.

  Thanks PML - by your question, I checked other protected files and they appear in my research (from Windows Explorer).  Makes me think of what is different, and then I remembered that I had an extension in the file name before extension '.xls '.  After removing this additional period, I am now able to locate the file by using the search.  So, thanks again for your help and guide me to this conclusion.  I appreciate that very much.

  If it's a web application, you might do the following:

  Download the file from the client to the application server, there is a FileUpload-bean in the sample forms.

  Write an ontop of some excel library such as Apache POI-RICH or JExcelApi java program to extract the necessary data.

  Use the importer-Forms-Java (I'm not sure, but it should be already there in forms 6i) to create a PL/SQL-wrapper around the java code. Now you can use pure PL/SQL for reading excel fields and process the results.

  about the report, there is a dedicated forum report. You should post here.
  but the answer to your question is form there has nothing to do with the generation of pdf. You can call the report from the usual.
  In the report, you must define properties such as
  destype to "file."
  desname 'path with file name ".
  desformat in "pdf".

  Place these commands alongwith your query into a file and then run it from the SQLPlus command line.
  There is no way the query statement delete appear in file queued if stuck directly into the SQLplus command prompt.

  I'm using a piece of .jsff that has a component af:table with an af:switcher on a column to return the column as an outputText in a case or an af:CommandLink based on another case.
  When you examine the properties of the table in the Inspector properties, under the heading of the columns, I see the "component for use" for this column is now of type af:switcher.
  
  Since then, Export To Excel only works with the valueHolders, is there any workaround solution to achieve this when excel is empty for this column since it is now of type af:switcher?

  I found the solution and I wanted to share with everyone.
  Rather than use a component af:switcher, replace it with an af:panelGroupLayout and change the rendered attribute to display the same value of af: column as an af:outputText or an af:commandLink.
