Here are all LEGAL for Vista:

How to get Vista recovery Media or the Vista recovery Partition on your computer back to factory settings.

There is no Vista free download legal available.

Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.

Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.

In addition, ask them if you have a recovery Partition on your computer/laptop to restore it to factory settings.

See if a manual provided with the computer or go to the manufacturer's website, email or you can call for information on how to make a recovery.

Normally, you have to press F10 or F11 at startup to start the recovery process...

Another way I've seen on some models is press F8 and go to a list of startup options, and launch a recovery of standards of plant with it, by selecting the repair option.

Ask them if you can also make recovery disk/s for the recovery Partition in case of a system Crash or hard drive failure.

They will tell you how to do this.

Every computer manufacturer has their own way of making recovery disk/s.

Or borrow a good Microsoft Vista DVD (not Dell, HP, etc).
A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
The product key determines which version of Vista is installed.

There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.

If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):

Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu

I have a product key, but need Windows vista Home Premium (32 bit) ISO because I lost the part recovery partition

    Hello

There is no Windows Vista downloads available from Microsoft.

You can contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks.

They should do this for a small fee.

To reinstall Vista using their recovery disk/s, you start from the 1st recovery disk they provide and follow the manufacturer's instructions to reinstall:

You need to change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order:

How to change the Boot order in BIOS:

Some manufacturers have more available Vista recovery disks.

If this happens, you may need to try this instead:

You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.

Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.

And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs

Here's how to do a clean install of Vista using a DVD of Vista from Microsoft:

And once the operating system is installed, go to your computer manufacturer's website and get the latest drivers for your particular model or laptop computer.

And phone Activation may be necessary when you use the above installation method.

  • How to upgrade my DirectX on my Windows Vista Home Premium?

I have DirectX 9.X on my Windows Vista Home Premium. Unfortunately, some of the apps on my computer require DirectX 10 to DirectX 10.1

    Hello

DX10 is included/grouped in Windows by default and does not need to be downloaded. It is more likely that your video card is not compatible Direct X 10 +.

However, you can try to update with the latest runtime for end users - http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35

  • Ive got a question for Windows Vista Home Premium? Please read.

When I bought a computer 2 years ago, is it came with Windows Vista Home Premium reinstall cd. The computer that comes with it is a gateway Gt5411E and im wondering if the installation cd will work on a new build machine what im doing right now. Thanks for the help

    N °

This record is for the gateway only computer.

    Read this:

If your computer is pre-installed with Vista, it is classified as an OEM license and is not transferable.

The license of Vista OEM is related to the original computer it is installed on and dies with the computer.
You cannot transfer it to another computer/laptop

If a license of Vista at retail, you can transfer it to another computer/laptop.
But it can only be installed on one computer at a time.

A single license is a single Installation.

  • Where can I get a free copy of Windows Vista Home Premium for a laptop Sony Vaio I have my product key, but need to the floppy?

where can I get a free copy of windows vista edition Home premium? I tried to restore my laptop without success. I think I need a copy of the installation disc so that I can reinstall it with my current product key

    Hello

There's a photo guide based on the recovery of your model here...

    http://www.Sony-Asia.com/support/tutorial/381906/product/VGN-fz18g

If you cannot use this method because what did your friend, your options are...

    • Pay Sony for media recovery
    • A base Windows installation followed by installing specific Sony drivers and software from their Web site.

If you walk down the road of the latter, I would say that, if possible, before you begin reinstalling Windows you download at least the Ethernet drivers and wireless and save in, for example, a USB key. Start your drivers to search for them (and other) here...

    http://www.Sony-Asia.com/support/product/VGN-fz18g/FAQ

.. everything will be difficult to download if drivers that allow access to the internet are not native to a new installation of Windows.

Your principled stand against Sony charges for media recovery is, in my opinion, wrong. As I already said twice...

If Sony did not provide recovery media that they have provided the means to create them

If you lost or do not burn them and messed up your recovery partition, it's not for lack of Sony.

My serious recommendation is to accept a fee of Sony for the recovery media. It will make life much simpler for you. For this reason alone, it is probably useful tax, especially considering that you're obviously not a user advanced. Otherwise, why ask the help of a friend and ask for help on this forum?

I suspect that the links I've seen on this website are actually only valid for Windows 7 media images. If you do not buy the recovery media and go with an iso image download Vista Home Premium, I have to warn about the following...

    • The legality of this is, at best, questionable
    • If it's not genuine Microsoft media you might end by in an even bigger mess (if it works at all)

Vista Home Basic does not include a DVD decoder.

Or... you can try to download and install one of the
