  Dell provided you with restore/recovery media and/or a way to restore the machine 'default' as a key sequence?  If so - you won't need the number--unless they just sent a DVD of Windows 7 nu - and they are usually not unless you ask.

  They have probably installed using their key, which means that even with a utility like Belarc Advisor or ProduKey - you will not get the product key that matches the one on the sticker.

  Some may have you take several different digital pictures of the sticker from different angles and see if you can decipher the missing characters like that (you'd be surprised to see how that works).

  You have the original installation disc of recovery? If yes you don't need the key because the recovery image can be installed to 1000 times and each time preinstalled version will be activated properly.

  With other words, no one will send you the key that you got on the sticker. The product key is implemented in original recovery image and cannot be used in case you want to enable another version of the Microsoft OS.

  I recently had to replace the keyboard on my A500 - 17 X (PSAR3E-00N005EN) and I decided to replace it with the same keyboard backlit model. The original keyboard was not backlit, but I thought I'd give it a go anyway, as it was the same price.

  I installed it in my laptop and everything works fine apart from the backlight function.
  There was even a port for the Ribbon to be back so it is definitely installed properly. I read on other forums that it is sometimes a problem with the BIOS or HWsetup but my BIOS does not give me the opportunity for her and neither does HWsetup.

  I was wondering if there is a way to get the backlight to work on the keyboard.
  Perhaps another driver or by changing the BIOS/HWsetup somehow?

  In my view, there is no way to activate the backlight through drivers or BIOS settings. You may need to send the laptop to a Toshiba repair center to get it activated.

  1 month ago I brought my Macbook to the Apple Store Genius Bar to check the GPU because I was worried about small lines on a screen while playing games.

  You deal with politics Apple and no one on these forums can do something for you, since we are like you, only users of Apple products.

  Consider selling your MBP and put money to one with 16 GB of RAM.
