How to hide user accounts in Win XP on Satellite phone?

I use a laptop of old Satellite under Win XP3. I would like to eliminate the need to connect at startup. I tried user accounts, but it gives me the option to change the password, not remove it. Any help is appreciated.

    Hello

It's not exactly what you were asking that you however maybe it will get enough to do what you need to close.

You should always let a no hidden Admin account and I would leave two, one that is total unused
except for testing and other fastening. Also be sure to check the 'related links' on these pages.

  • How to restore user account missing when the connection after that power outage occurred?

Windows XP Media Center edition PC was carried out at the time of the power failure, which lasted about 2 hours.  When turned back on, it was missing the user account on the XP login screen.  However, after logging another user, all the files seem to be present, but the system restore will return to another point, and the same username cannot be recreated (it says it is already used).  How can the user be restored?  Thank you!

I fixed it!  I copied a solution to another user in the forum:

    1. click on the Start button.
    2. go to control panel and choose switch to Classic view (if not to this point of view).
    3. double-click on Administrative Tools.
    4. double-click on computer management.
    5. on the left, click area to expand local users and groups.

    6. click on groups.

    7 double-click on administrators.

    8. click the Add button to add the user missing to the list.

It restored the user to the logon screen.

See this link on how to create and manage user accounts: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Create-a-user-account. Expand the second link (my computer is on a workgroup) for your likely information. Don't worry if have to jump the "User and family security accounts" link in step 1.

Ask us if you need additional assistance.

  • Check box does not appear in the user accounts (netplwiz) Win 8 "users must enter a user name and password to use this computer"

I'm trying to implement the autologon 8 Win who was working a moment fact either. I tried the suggested solution of unchecking the checkbox in the user accounts, but this choice does not appear. I'm not on a domain, just a regular home network.

    It worked for me.

I set up an email on my desktop and it applied security policies.  I deleted the account and password policies remained.

This has removed the policies, and now I'm able to connect without a pw again!

  • How the Setup user account password?

Actual title: landing page set up to create a password for windows

I am in my 60's and I don't know much about computers.  I had an old computer that's motherboard died, I went to a repair shop and bought a second-hand, the tech was supposed to add a screen where we could install a password to get into the computer, but of course once I came home there was no place to install a password.  My question is, can you help me set up a landing page to create a password before starting windows.  As it is now, anyone can just sit at my computer and enter.  I want to make it a little difficult for anyone to get into my computer.  Can you help me?

    Hello

-What is the operating system installed on your computer?
-You are the administrator of your computer?

Follow the steps below to create a password for your user account and check if it helps.

To create a password for your user account:
(a), click on Start and click on Panel.
    (b) when the opens the Control Panel click Add or remove user accounts under user accounts and Family Safety.
    c) click the link for user accounts .
    (d) in the make changes to your user account in the user accounts window, click create a password for your account link.
    (e) in the first two text boxes, enter the password that you want to start using.
Enter the password twice to ensure that you have typed your password correctly.
    (f) in the final text box, you are asked to refining the Type a password .
This step is optional, but highly recommend that you use. (g) click the button create password to confirm your new password.
    (h) you can now close the user accounts window.
    (i) now that your account Windows 7 has a Setup password , you must use this password to log on Windows 7 from this moment.

  • How to troubleshoot user account? Cannot download Mcafee.

I can't download Mcafee, after going thru with their support team, they have identified is due to user account problem. My admin account is not all permissions.  The part the more delicate is I assigned the guest as an administrator account, by default there is no password and assuming so no full authorization. I tried several times to delete or reassign the account, but fail to do so. Pls help, until today my PC don't have any antivirus because I can't download Mcafee.

    Thank you

The tricky part is that I assigned the guest as an administrator account.

WHY? The guest account is a security risk (which explains why it is disabled by DEFAULT) that allows anonymous access on your computer outside of things. You should DISABLE the guest account. This is probably why you cannot install McAfee...

  • How to hide users (roles and organization) list from a user in IOM

    Hello

Admin (xelsysadm) has created a user to IOM. Now, if this user is connected to the IOM Self Service (http:// < url > / identity), he can see other users in his organization, as well as the list of roles, role categories, organizations, etc. I have an obligation to hide all links in the administration of the end-user. At present, it has the role of "All Users" and has no admin role, but can see all these links administration. What should I do to hide these links to the end-user? Should we delete the role of "All Users", or assign another role, or do something in law, or in the access policy?

    Thank you.

    You can write EL condition on visible (or display the component property) Administration menu item: #{oimcontext.currentUser.roles ['SYSTEM ADMINISTRATORS']! = null}

  • How to disable user accounts MUST have passwords

My password strategy seems to be settled so that all users must define and use a password. I would like to be able to disable this feature, at least temporarily. Is there a way?

You can use the policy editor gpedit.msc to change this policy. If your computer is connected to a domain, then you should discuss the matter with your domain administrator.
