How to import my catalogues/collections in LR5 on Windows 7 in LR CC on iMac?

I have a lot of photos in the collections with keywords and ratings that I've assigned in LR5 on a Windows 7 PC. I need to import a new iMac using LR CC without losing the data of these collections and metadata. How can I do this?

You should not import anything. Lightroom files are independent of the platform, it should be just a matter of moving and their restoration of links.

  1. Copy the folder containing your Lightroom Catalog and previews in a folder on the iMac (for example, in the pictures folder).
  2. If the photos themselves aren't in the Lightroom file, copy this folder to the iMac too.
  3. When you start up of Lightroom he probably will think that all photos are missing. In the records of the library module Panel, find the highest folder containing your photos, right click (if you have enabled secondary click for the iMac mouse or trackpad, or Ctrl-click on this folder in the foreground) and choose find missing folder. Locate and select the folder in the foreground containing your photos where you put it on your iMac and Lightroom should link everything back up.

Because you copied the entire catalog on the iMac, all your collections and metadata will be on the iMac.

Now, because you move Lightroom 5 CC, he will likely be asked to update this catalog too. Don't forget you give the updated catalog a name you recognize, so that you don't accidentally reopen the old catalog or it will ask you to update again.

I suggest that you copy the video from the CD on the hard drive of the computer and then import it to create DVDs. Browse the CD and locate the video, copy it to your disk (computer) hard, and then try to import.

  • How to import or drag and drop photos into Windows Live Movie Maker?

I'm unable to either import or drag and drop photos into Windows Live Movie Maker.  I just finished a movie and when I try to open a new project, I click on "Add photos and video", taking me to 'my pictures', but when I try to open him "add photos and video", the "file name" has so much history, it doesn't allow me to click on the location of my file.  How can I get rid of this story?  The first film was so easy, but this new project has been up to this impossible after about 7 hours of attempts.  Help, please!

    Hi Anniebp2,

I think perhaps the best next step after all your efforts of trying to fix the program.  For this, since it is part of the Windows Essentials pack, you can go to the page Windows Essentials and re - download and re-install the package, which will update and fix the movie maker if necessary. I hope that this solves the problem for you. Please let me know how it goes.

  • How to import a profile from another machine under Windows 7

I have a new Windows 7 computer and the hard drive from my old computer (XP) the old hard drive is not bootable, but I can see my old Firefox profile.

    I did export profile.

I would ideally like to just copy that the old profile for my new Firefox setup but Win 7 will not let me browse to folder. (c:\Users\ (name) change Data.

What I would like is essentially a function of full import where I could access the old profile and have Firefox just copy everything in? Such a thing exists? Is there another way to do what I'm doing?

    Thank you.

First of all, make sure you have Windows 7 set to view hidden files and foders, for more details on how to do that see http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial151.html

You can copy selected files of the old profile folder in your profile folder, for details, see recovering data from an old profile.

A lot of files in the profile folder will be automatically generated when required, it is best to allow Firefox to create these files and simply copy those containing data such as bookmarks and passwords as shown in the article above.

  • How to import from an external hard drive to LightRoom.

I'm brand new creative cloud and LightRoom. I have read and listened to the import from card memory, but I'm not sure how to import since the backup of my old Mac Pro drive to my new iMac. The external drive is already the backup for the new iMac, is connected and works. I can see the HARD drive in the LR Panel and you can find the 'pictures' folder in the drop-down list. I don't know if the 'folder of photos (on the left panel) is the old b/u or the iMac HARD drive. I can get to where I need to be so I can understand what I'm looking at and what I should look for that for the 2 discs HARD, p/c or iMac. I know the right panel, but the interactions are completely unknown to me. Thanks for any help and advice. TCrowe

If you are importing from a hard disk, then you don't need to worry about the right panel in the import dialog box. This would allow you to locate the file you want to import in the left panel. At the top of the import screen you choose the option 'Add '. This will add these images to your catalog without having to move them anywhere. If you want to place copies on another hard drive then you would choose the option copy the top of import. Then the right panel will allow you to specify where you want to place copies.

  • Import of part of the catalogue of LR4 LR5 in

I recently bought a subscription to LR5 and PSCC license. The software downloaded and installed without any problems. They have installed separately from my LR4 and PSCS5 software rather than upgrades. I imported my LR4 LR5 catalogue without any problem. I have imported new photos and retouched in LR5 and it works perfectly. Then I made a mistake. I accidentally opened LR4, imported images from a shoot and edited images.

Once I realized what I had done, I opened LR5 and resynced my directory where the new images subdirectory. The new directory of images have been imported in place for the LR5 catalog. However, I have no any done LR4 fixtures and don't know how to do this without messing up the work I did in LR5. I found a different catalog import on the file menu, but afraid to use it until I make sure, it will not damage the work I already did in LR5.

Not sure if I explained the problem? Anyway, your help is greatly appreciated.

    Dave

In Lightroom 4, select the photos you want, and then the file-> export in the new catalogue.

In Lightroom 5, remove from Lightroom (but not the hard drive) the pictures you do not want that you just imported, then the file-> import an another catalog and point for the exported file in the LR4 catalogue.

    David

When you first launch LR6, it should automatically detect your catalog LR5 and asks if you want to open an improved copy of it.

All of your changes, keywords, etc. will be deferred.

If it doesn't, use file > open in LR6, orders and access the LR5 catalog.

Ideas: I have several CD ROMS that are MP3s of many music albums. I want to know how to import these on my hard drive of the computer so that I can then listen to music with windows media player or import into iTunes

    • You have problems with programs

If they are MP3 files containing data CDs, you can simply use Windows Explorer to copy the MP3 files from your music collection CD personal. After that, they automatically appear in the WMP library. Tim Baets

  • How to open Sony Raw files in LR5 - a7 and a7RII cameras

How to open Sony Raw files in LR5 - a7 and a7RII cameras?

I'm running the last LR5 5.7.1 version but could not open the raw files of Sony cameras, a7 and a7RII.

    Help, please.

Sony A7 needs to import fine in Lightroom 5.7.1. Exactly what happens? What is the error message Word for Word unpublished full accurate?

Sony A7R II requires Lightroom 6.1.1/Lightroom CC 2015.1.1 or later version. You'd have to buy one of them; or alternatively, use the free Adobe DNG Converter to convert these RAW to DNG format, which can be imported into LR.

  • I had to rebuild the computer and reinstalled the photos of cecently.  I have photos imported into Lightroom, but the parameters associated with the photos, that is to say. When they were developed, are not there.  How to import these?

I recently had to rebuild the computer and reinstalled the photos.  I have photos imported into Lightroom, but the parameters associated with the photos, that is to say. When they were developed, are not there.  How to import these?

Default LR stores all changes in the catalog file, not in the pictures. So if you have a backup of your original catalog you will need to copy on the newly rebuilt system and open it in LR. You will then need to recreate a link to the images in the catalog depending on where are your images and where the original LR catalogue think they are.

  • How to import the structure of the catalog in other machines.

    Hello

    I have two requests. :-

    (1) I have a clothing catalog on my machine that I created in VAC. How to import this catalog structure in the other machines as well.

    (2) how to specify CatalogId in my project if I have multiple catalogs in my project.

A single catalog, I used to mention catalog Id in catalogTools.properties in /atg/commerce/catalog/catalogtools.properties as:--

    defaultCatalogId = catalog30001

How to make for several catalogues.

    Please advice.

    Thank you

    1. Go to the path of Jacks dyn/admin

say in this case u created the ACC catalog data, go to/atg/commerce/catalog/productCatalog jacks

Run provide name of descriptors section. under the section "operation tags XML on the repository.

It will export all the data for some component and it is dependancies.if u wan to disable dependencies specify skiP-references = 'true '.

To import and export data, you can use/ATG_HOME/bin/startSQLRepository command only in dev envirnoment.

    startSQLRepository-m ModuleName-import/export export_file_name-repository repository_component_full_path

    for example: -.

    startSQLRepository m Votre_module-export export.xml - repository/atg/commerce/catalog/ProductCatalog

    startSQLRepository m Votre_module-import export.xml - repository/atg/commerce/catalog/ProductCatalog

Please make sure that you module is able to connect to the database, otherwise jtdatasource exception will come, not saying do not able to connect Datasouce atgmysqldb (default db configured in the jtdatasoruce property)

Also if you want to export full db, use all the argument.

    startSQLRepository m Votre_module-export all the export.xml

    2. you have several options for setting catalogid in profile.

    • Use multisite and assign the default catalog to individual sites,
    • Set catalog to the user regiestered profile.
    • Usage scenario to assign the catalog profile based on rules.

Can define you specific automatic import of catalogue records?

If this is not the case, there is a feature request.

    Good day.

The answer is no. This is just a small example of how Lightroom works best when you use a single catalog rather than fragment your workflow.
