  Everything works as expected for me, so there's something wrong with your implementation.

  Try to remove the file from'd rather with Lr closed and restarted. Preferences can get damaged a cause all types of unusual problems.

  I want to use the filter pane to find all the photos with a certain keyword on my drive - and not only in a specified folder.

  Is this possible with the bridge?

  Or do I always go into a specific subfolder and look for for keywords? If so, the filter does not help - if I'm in the folder, I no longer need the help of keywords.

• How to import photos from an SD card in chronological order?

  Hi all

  I'm new to 10 PSE so bear with me for a second, I ask your help.  I try to import photos from an SD card and have them renamed as imported while but keeping the chronological order based on when they were taken but I can't get this result.  The photos are imported in chronological order, but in the folder, they are in the SD card.

  Situation

  I have my vacation photos in my SD card in 7 folders created by the camera (1 for each day).  When I go to "Get the Photos and videos" and I select the card reader, I see them in chronological order but in keeping the order of each folder starting with the last folder.

  
  Did I get 10 PSE?

  10 PSE is their import and rename but use chronological order within each folder starting with the most recent creation of a chronological mess.

  Results expected Import

  I want pictures to be imported and renamed, but keeping the regardles chronologically this folder are in.  I think it starts from the bottom of the list to the top.

  Any help will be appreciated.

  I understand your recommendation, but I was hoping that items he'd for me instead of having to use a workaround.  I kept looking in various forums and found this http://www.sevenforums.com/music-pictures-video/25245-picture-import.html post where he explains how to use the Windows Live Photo Gallery import feature to get the same behavior that we have used to extract the XP.  Read the post from 'jrdaddykins' to the list of steps to follow.  I believe that this post closed, thank you for those who chipped in.

  Why would you remove iPhoto? the application doesn't have storage space, but is very difficult to come back. You may need to repair old iPhoto libraries, if you need to restore a library from a backup.

  At least keep a copy of iPhoto on your backup disk.

  How you are migrating from iPhoto to Photos?

  You import photos into iPhoto after that you migrated your iPhoto library to Photos for Mac?  Any modification, import, edit you make in one application are not visible in the other application.

  There are no tools to merge iPhoto libraries libraries of Photos.  The export of all the photos in the iPhoto library you have imported after that you have created the photo library.  Then import these photos to Photos.

  After that, make a backup of your iPhoto library, and you can remove it from your system disk.

  Have you tried the following:

  • Launch Photos manually once you connect your iPhone to the Mac.
  • Enter the ⌥⌘S (command-option-S) key combination to make the sidebar visible on the Photos.
  • Click on the camera icon or an iPhone in the sidebar when it appears.

  Your iPhone shows in iTunes or in the Image Capture? If iPhone doesn't appear at all, make sure it is properly loaded and unlocked, disconnecting, take a new photo, then reconnect it.

  • Start iTunes and confirm that you agree with the mac, the prompt on the iPhone.
  • Try a different USB port.
  • Try to force reboot the iPhone.

  I have a question about behavior if PHOTOS during import.  I'm about to change my preferences and I want to know what to expect.

  1. my current photo library was created with NO use icloud photo library.  I'm going to leave it off.

  2. my current library had also 'Copy items in the library of Photos' taken out of SERVICE.  So the result was that I just got links in my library in the DROBO folder where the pictures actually lived.  I then invested a lot of time to faces everything works fine.   However, the Drobo is SLOOOWWWW and my hardware is changing so...

  3 I intend now to my library a new large SSD I'm about to install.  I would really now to copy every 100 GB or so images in my library to enjoy the speed and get a free backup copy in the process.  However, I really want to have to do all that FACES tuning again.

  So, now the question.  If I go to PHOTOS prefs and turn on the "copy items to the box library", this will apply to the new photos imported or it will go to seek out those for whom a link only currently.  I guess it won't, but I hope.  If I reimport them once again, I'm afraid I'll get the pics in double... one for the link that is there now and another for the import copy.

  If I have to, I'll start all over again, but here, I hope it is an easier way!  Suggestions, anyone?

  Turn on the "copy items to the Library check box' apply only for new photos that you import.

  Copy the old originals in your select Photo library in Photos and use the command "file > consolidate."

  Who will copy the originals in your photo library and transform the photos selected in managed photos.  All changes and faces tags will continue to work. And the original files will be stored safely in your library.

  To quickly select all the photos that have to consolidate use smart albums.

  Create a smart albums with "file > new smart album ' and set the constraint of the album 'Photo is referenced. This smart album will display all photos with original image files referenced.

  Here's the situation: old PC (running XP) running Outlook Express 5. I want to export files as well as e-mail in these worms a new pc still running XP but running Outlook Express 6. When you import I can't import Outlook Express 5 stuff, it only gives me the choice between Outlook Express 4 and Outlook Express 6. So any ideas? You really learn these files (emails not only) and the emails from Outlook Express 5 to Outlook Express on the new PC 6 (old PC).

  Someone said to upgrade the old pc Outlook Express 5 to Outlook Express 6, and then create an export, but I don't know which would work because if I do an upgrade from 5 to 6 on old PC, he would see even the oldest post which could be seen on Outlook Express 5?

  What name do you want? Their file name? You are wanting captions with their name?

  I was watching YouTube videos but also read the tutorials and I can't figure out how to import a single photo.

  Everything I watch or read, it seems that I need to click on import > select a folder containing image files > and then I'll see thumbnails contained in this folder.  But no matter what folder I selected, though there are JPEGs, RAW files, anything, there are no previews and the import button is grayed out.

  Activating/Deactivating the subfolders box does not help.  HARD drive is running.

  I'm probably just something wrong.  :/

  Let's back up a minute. Back to basics. You select the location of the photo with the left side panel of the import page? When you have done this the thumbnails of the photos appear in the central area? If so, select "Add" on the bar above them and clear all the pictures you do not want to import, and then click Import.
