How to install a program in the D: drive?

I have a sony vaio notebook. He bought recently. All programs that install, settle in the C: drive. So C: will fill up. If I install the new programme, it gives an error Low space. Programs that install ask me not the location to install. I have windows 7 64 bit.

So, how to install programs in the D: drive?

My details of hard drive and partitions:

1 recovery Partition (healthy, 15.12 GB)

2. reserved system (350 MB NTFS) (healthy, the Partition Active, primary system)

3 C: (99.99 GB NTFS) (boot, page file, crash dump, primary Partition)

4 D: (182,63 GB NTFS) (logical drive)

I want that whenever I have install a program, the program must ask me the location to install it.

Unless you use installation custom installation they will default all c

Have you done your Sony recovery according to the Sony disks, if not do NOW.

Is there anything installed to D?

If there is uninstall it, and then in disk management, delete the D partition, and then expand C to utalise all the free space.

If you are unable to do this by using built-in disk utility management use this free tool

http://www.partition-tool.com/personal.htm

*NB* Do NOT do this until you have created the Sony recovery disks and saving all the data to external media

If you literally just copied the program files, then paste it into the program on vista files and try to run it. It may not work because he might miss the registry keys, that he needs, but if she didn't absolutely need these keys to run, it will probably work very well.

    original title: where to install?

How can I know weather to install any program in the 64-bit or 32-bit section?

    Hello DaphneanEpiphany,

The application that you are installing will sort it out for you. Unless the software is told explicitly 64-bit in the box, you can be assured that the software will be 32-bit.

If you are running a copy of Windows Vista (or 7) 64-bit operating system will install the software in the right folder so I don't worry about this.

Also, I had to install the software twice on my computer before because I had to restart the computer. I don't know if this affects the limit.

You are allowed to have two facilities activated, so it shouldn't be a problem with facilities to work on both machines.  If by chance you somehow tied up two activations for a machine you can have Adobe support help solve this cat thrue.
