  Sorry for my English in advance.

  I have a question about the search for drivers on the hp websites.  There is always a problem with the SM Bus controller when windows is freshly installed.  It doesn't matter what model of laptop is and it doesn't matter what windows. I installed a lot of portable Hp and there is always a problem with a Bus SM driver. Usually, I managed to find the driver by installing all the drivers, there was for the chosen model, but that's all just stupid.  My most recent problem is a g6-1350sm pavilion.

  So, how am I supposed to know which driver download, when there is no indication what so ever on HP support page.

  There are a lot of assumptions, which are not very useful. It can be power or driver card reader driver or I don't know what kind of driver. And by the driver on the internet search, I see there's a loooot of people having the same problem

  I would like to propose a solution to the page 'downloads & drivers Hp':

  When the list of drivers for the selected model, there should be between all a named subcategory "driver - bus sm. You know what I mean?

  I hope you have understood my question, and I hope that some changes in the page "Hp drivers & downloads ' will be done

  It is a problem that we won before, and for some reason, HP does not include the driver for chipset applicable for all HP laptops with an AMD processor and chipset.

  Just redid my g7-1365dx and I can't find the "sm bus controller driver" I found an old article here but the links are not good. At all other drivers except this one.   I zipped and tied the smbus controller driver you need below.

  Download and uncompress the file in its folder.

  Don't do anything with the files in the folder.

  Go to Device Manager and click the controller smbus who need the pilot.

  Click the driver tab.

  Click on set to update driver.

  Select her browse my computer for driver software option and navigate to the driver folder, that you unzipped.

  Make sure that the include subfolders is selected, and the driver should install.

  Restart the PC.

  We have gradually been put back together, reload its data, re-installing of ZoneAlarm and AVG, Picassa & Office 365. Yesterday I went to re - install printer drivers, but before doing so checked Device Manager to see that the error "SM BUS controller driver is missing" was. Grrrrr...

  I tried to use system restore to return point of restoration of a restore point but that too now fails every time with error (0x80070005).

  Before we go again nuclear, anyone has any ideas please...?

  I had to downgrade laptop computer CQ58 a 64 Windows 8 for Windows 7 64 client on their request. The process went very well and I managed to find all the drivers required - except one, the SM Bus controller driver, which I will have supply problems. I think that this is part of the AMD Catalyst package and I downloaded and installed the recommended package of AMD of automatic detection and this has not solved the problem. I also tried a slightly earlier version of these drivers, and it also left me with the same problem. Has anyone else faced the question and it is resolved successfully? It will seriously affect my book of customers if I can't find a driver? I would appreciate any advice! Thank you in advance. Steve
