  Long story short, I contracted somehow malware that made my unnecessary desktop icons. I can't click on them or right click anything. The only way I can manuver IE and on any program that I can start is to use desktop shortcuts.

  I run Malwarebytes and got rid of the number 1. I never got navagate Malwarebytes good enuf to view the log file. The virus (if I had one) seems to have disappeared, but has changed some things in my regisery. As I said, I can't click on anything on my desktop. I CAN navagate my Start menu without any problem. But when IE opens or ANY other program, I can navagte only these programs through shortcuts to the office.

  Can't seem to do here so I tried to reinstall windows using my Vista Home Premium disc. I did with a previous pc using XP. But for some reason, I can't find an option just uninstall windows so I can install a new version of windows. I like to always keep all files and data, but simply install fresh windows once again. To me that seems the easiest was around my problem.

  Is it possible to do what I ask of my Vista restore disk?

  BTW, I don't have a restore point to fall back on. My hard drive is close to being complete and I used the restore function a few days before this problem and now I can not find a restore point before I fell on my current problem.

  Of all things... it's my mouse.

  I have it has given it a thought for a moment at the beginning then threw the idea because I could use my mouse anywhere in the start area. I could left click, right click with ease, but once I opened a program or a Web page that is opened in the main window, I couldn't click on anything whatsoever.

It worked well for me because I haven't run on recommendations 7 disc set parameters. I found (after some searching) don't choose the 'install updates recommended' as I did after install and also ran "CUSTOM" Setup and went from there. The 8RT was 'OK', but after a time, I found it is not a stable OS because I wanted to learn "how" do and apply applications for the WINDOWS 8 Pro platform because I'm sure, is a more stable OS then the RT. I hope that this 'Info' is perhaps useful to those who are trying to re - install the WINDOWS 7 O.S. of the 8RT.  A lot of trials and mistakes were made, and I found it works well for me because I've tried the suggested install from the OLD Win but I found that there are some Win.old 2 and 3 on my Toshiba Lap Top.
