How to install RAID 1 on 270 Vostro

I have a VOSTRO 270 with 1 TB of HDD.

I would like to have the RAID 1 (mirroring) on the hard disk.

The motherboard has 4 SATA connectors.  1 blue is, I believe (it's not in the documentation provided) a 6 Gbps connector and the Black 2 SATA connectors are, I suppose, SATA 3 GB/s.

The blue is used by the HARD drive.

If I go with normal RAID 1 (by adding a 1 to a black connector), I guess I'll reduce by half my speed in the car, assuming that it works at all.

The B75 Express chip located in the system has features that could give me 1 RAID without the problem of speed.

Has anyone here done what I'm talking about?  If so you can describe your experiences and what needs to be done to achieve this.  (The documentation does cover this.)

You can use any pair of SATA connectors you want - there is simply no difference between SATA 150, 3G and 6G for any hard drive se - no 7200 RPM drive can even begin to support 150 Mbps, and still less 3G or 6G (these speeds are the province of SSDS - classical records can't).
You will need the intel Matrix Storage Manager controller software to prepare the table (once you have configured drives in the BIOS as ON RAID).

  • Qosmio G20 - how to install with a single drive HARD and without RAID?

I would like to implement G20 Qosimo new with Windows XP 32.
I bought a new hard drive and put it on the slot 1. I would like to run without any RAID (slot 2 is so empty)

XP installation CD not found HD
I went into the BIOS to see if the HD was there - HD is considered normal
then I thought that I have to change RAID JBOD (page 3 of the BIOS), but it did not work
I have confirmed with the button of 1234 - but nothing happened.

In another task, they said to install the RAID-(pressant F6,... tout en commencer l'installation de XP) drivers
I put the drivers on a USB - but the system will not detect it (and there is no floppy drive)

I don't know how to install XP on this laptop.

Can you get the external floppy drive (floppy drive) and load the RAID drivers using this disc which should be connected using the USB port?

This floppy drive, you can buy on eBay for a few euros.

  • How to install VMworkstation with matrix RAID?

This procedure seems to consist of several steps. Installation of VMware; mounting disks; creating virtual disks; installation driver for RAID controller that supports VMware. Windows is confused as to volumes/drive letters, so that the file operations are difficult, sometimes impossible. What is the sequencing of these operations? Specifically, at what point are RAID drivers installed? I'll be able to install VMware, mount disks and to create virtual disks before installing RAID drivers? Otherwise doesn't seem like the configuration would be supported; the RAID card will not compatible system configuration to work with.

    Any practical advice? Unfortunately I can't back up now, so it would be good to get this one right. ;-}

This driver is for VMware ESX (i), no VMware Workstation.  ESX installs on bare metal, which explains the existence of the RAID for ESX driver.

VMware Workstation is installed as an application on a host system, so this isn't the host operating system needs the RAID driver installed, VMware Workstation.

You n t need her. The Vista installation is very easy.

First you need to install RAID driver (but only if your computer supports RAID)
After this installation do more with Vista Setup.

After the installation of Vista to choose and download page of the European driver Toshiba theToshiba drivers and install Vista drivers in the correct order. Good order, that you will find in the installation instructions txt file.

I read that someone who tried, but a safety feature would fail to boot from the original HD?

    Thanks for any help...

    Hello:

I agree with your statements 1-5, with the amendment that there is only the W7 x 64 drivers for your laptop on its support page and driver, since HP only supports consumption patterns for the BONES of public windows into force at the time of the laptop (now Windows 8).

Therefore, based on the hardware in your PC, I recommend you to use the W7 x 64 drivers and software for this model instead.

DO NOT USE ALL DOWNLOADS OF BIOS OR FIRMWARE FROM THIS LINK

    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?OS=4063&LC=en&cc=us&DLC=en&sw_lang=&product=5274535#N608

Now, I love the idea of installing on a separate HARD drive and returning the original disc if you want to sell the laptop, or simply go back to the use of W8.

I think that if you went into the BIOS and returns settings to their default values and close the notebook before reinstalling the original drive, it should work perfectly.

If you do not change the BIOS to their default settings before installing the original drive, I tend to accept that he cannot start.

You cannot change all settings for the storage controller BIOS in your laptop.

I think with the models with these caches ssd, is by default the RAID BIOS.

If you use a Windows 7 installation disc or an ISO file that does not have SP1 media refresh, then Yes, you probably have to load a sata driver.

Here's how to confirm that your speed controller is set to (AHCI or RAID).

The simple way to check if your laptop drive controller is set to AHCI or RAID (it will be one of the two), is to do the following.

To check if the drive is set to AHCI, go to Device Manager. Look at the categories of device.

If the laptop is AHCI, there will be a category of devices IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers.  Click to expand this category and you will see the name of the controller sata which are listed there.  For the chipset of your model, you should see that an Intel (r) 7 Series Chipset Family SATA AHCI Controller listed.

If your laptop drive controller is set to RAID, look further down the list of device category, and you'll see a category of storage controllers. Click to expand that, and if your laptop drive controller is set to RAID, you should see a controller Intel (r) Mobile Express Chipset SATA RAID.

Here is how you can determine which mode the inverter of your laptop SATA is configured for.

Here is the link to the sata drivers, you may need... You want to download the first file listed for W7 x 64

    https://downloadcenter.Intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&ProdId=2101&DwnldID=23060&Keyword=Intel+Rapid+Storage+Technology+(Intel+RST) & lang = fra

So here's how to install the driver...

Extract the files downloaded on a USB key.

With the flash player and the installation of W7 media connected to the computer, boot from the installation of W7 media.

After selecting the install now option, select the training - Advanced menu, Options and select the option load a driver.

You should now see the storage driver files listed.

If you check the box, it only includes the compatible driver.

Follow the prompts and should install W7.

  • How to install multiple operating systems

    Hi, im from the India,
    I have hp Pavilion-15-N209TX, with Windows built-in 8.1,
I want to install anothere os (Windows 7),
Windows 8.1 Windows 7 plus several operating systems.

    How to do this?

Make sure you create your media recovery HP or USB Flash Recovery discs before you edit or change anything.

The screenshots below is from a laptop HP 15 t-j100... options and the configuration on your computer screens may differ.

You will need to DISABLE "Secure Boot" and ENABLE "Legacy Support" in the "Configuration of the BIOS start-up secure" on the settings page similar to what is shown below, until you try to install Windows 7.

After you save the changes, the computer will ask you to confirm the changes... Accept the changes by typing the four digit code and press the ENTER"" key.

If you install from a USB key and see a message of "load a driver - a required CD/DVD drive device is missing", it's because as 'System Configuration' > 'Config USB3.0 in pre-start' is set to 'Enabled '. This should be set to 'Auto '.

In addition, as the hard drive is partitioned as TPG, you must start using the internal CD/DVD UEFI or UEFI-Key/key USB to install Windows on a GPT-partitioned disk. Turn on or restart the computer and press "F9" or "ESC", then "F9" when prompted. Select the source of boot UEFI you use and you press "ENTER".

I suggest using Windows 7 SP1 for the best installation experience. If you need Windows SP1, see 'How to install Windows 7 without the disc' to download and create your own disc of Windows 7 SP1. If the DVD does not start as UEFI, you may need to use a USB Flash drive (can ask "Quick start" DISABLING in BIOS) as the installation media. Please download the Windows 7 USB/DVD download tool to create a Windows 7 SP1 USB Flash drive. Please note that some computers may not recognize a valid active UEFI USB Flash drive if it is formatted in NTFS and may require only a FAT32 formatted USB Flash drive. You should be able to make a FAT32 formatted Windows 7 installation USB Flash drive using Rufus, UNetbootin, Universal USB Installeror WiNToBootic. I like Rufus, because it contains options for 'Plan of GPT partition for UEFI computer' and 'FAT32'.

    From the top...

    (1) in Windows 8 / 8.1, reduce the "C:" partition and create a new partition of the unused space. Please see partitioning and naming of readers (Windows 8) for more information on partition in Windows 8 / 8.1.

    (2) download f6flpy-x 64.zip, extract the files/folders and place it on a USB Flash drive.

    (3) turn on the computer and immediately start typing the key "ESC".

    (4) when the MENU is displayed, press "F10".

    5) navigate the BIOS to the "System Configuration", 'USB 3.0 pré-OS Config' and the value 'Auto '.

    6) navigate the BIOS to the "System Configuration", "Startup Options" and "Secure Boot" the value 'Legacy Support' the value "Enabled" and "Disabled"

    7) press "F10" and click "YES" to "Exit Saving Changes".

    (8) computer should restart and display "Change of operating system startup Mode"... type the four digit code, then press "ENTER".

    (9) let Windows 8 boot to the top and put the Windows 7 SP1media in the drive to DVD or a USB port, then logout / stop.

    (10) turn on the computer and immediately start typing the key "ESC".

    (11) when the MENU is displayed, press the key "F9" and then select the correct boot UEFI source (CD/DVD drive internal, USB drive, CD/DVD, USB Flash drive, etc.). ... Press any key to start the CD/DVD, if prompted.

    (12) select 'Language', ' time / currency ' and 'Keyboard' settings and then click "Next".

    13) click on 'install now '... Check "Accept terms" and click "next". Click on "Custom (Advanced)".

    (14) you may need to provide Intel SATA/RAID drivers at the moment...  Use the Intel SATA/RAID drivers that you previously placed on a USB Flash drive.

    (15) to follow all instructions and meet the need. Enter the Windows 7 key when asked.

Most of the 64 - bit drivers Windows 7 for HP ENVY 15 t-j100 CTO Notebook PC drivers of Quad Edition page should work on your computer. DO NOT use any BIOS or download of the firmware from this page. Please message the Windows Device Manager (text only) "Hardware ID" of all remaining missing or unknown devices, as shown in the example below.

  • How to install Dell OMSA on a free host VMware or VMware vSphere Hypervisor comments?

We are virtualizing our 2012 R2 Windows Server and you have a Dell PowerEdge T310 server. We have installed vSphere hypervisor free version 5.5 on the physical server.

Does anyone know how to install the Dell OMSA? I heard that it will not work if it is installed on the Windows Server R2 2012 host because of the virtualization layer.

I read a few posts on how it's done, but I can't always get my head around it. I think I've also seen people install a VIB on the hypervisor vSphere itself?

Can you please describe the General steps or point me in the right direction on how to run the OMSA? The Dell PowerEdge server has a RAID, and we must use OMSA to see a RAID controller unexpected sense errors if they are generated. We used to have a problem with consistency RAID and have had to start again before.

He also seems to be an OMSA plugin for vCenter, but I don't think we can use vCenter because it's the free version of vSphere hypervisor.

    Hello

There are a lot of articles and posts on how to install OMSA under VMware. If you encounter problems then please post an explanation of what you are having problems with. Here's a post I did on the subject. It has a link to a youtube video that includes step by step instructions:

He also seems to be an OMSA plugin for vCenter, but I don't think we can use vCenter because it's the free version of vSphere hypervisor.

Integration of OpenManage for VCenter requires always the OMSA agent must be installed on the hypervisor. Correct, it is not a free version of VCenter. No installation procedure who advises using VUM or VCenter should be ignored because you will not have access to these utilities.

I don't think that you can install Windows 7 with Boot Camp on El Capitan:

    • A Microsoft Windows installation media or disc image (ISO) containing a 64-bit version of Microsoft Windows 8 or later *.

From: How to install Windows using Boot Camp - Apple Support.

Windows 10 is simply too new for your Mac, and Windows 7 is too old. It is quite a difficult situation. If you really need Windows, you would need to get a copy of Windows 8, or put to level to an earlier version of Mac OS X with a version of Boot Camp that works in Windows 7.
