How to install the new hard drive and windows key?

Hello

I have a aspire v5-121-c72g32nkk.
I have just updated to Windows 10, don't panic, but I want to upgrade my HD drive to a SSD drive.

You can find the steps to do this?
Windows was preinstalled, how I reinstall on another drive?
I have no serial key or whatever it is.
I'm a bit lost, you have an idea?

Best,

There are several ways to do this, anyone have product keys, since

If you want to do a clean install:

Windows 7-8 - 8.1 keys are embeeded on your BIOS

Windows 10 use a generic key during the upgrade, so just skip the steps questions about a product key and the first time you connect on the web, it will authenticate to.

You must decide:

(1) do a clean install of your operating system to factory

(2) make a disk - image of the system image and reload

(3) to do a clean install of windows 10

option 2 is the fastest at the end, as you create a copy of your HARD drive and reload it to your PC.

you need a bootable windows 10 (USB or DVD) media and little space on external HARD drive.

  • HP EliteBook 8440p: Best boot option after installing the new hard drive and put to memory.

I just installed the new hard drive for my laptop and will get the cards of two memory installed tomorrow. I would like advice on what would be the best option to start when the laptop for the first time I'm on fire.

I have the original Windows HP recovery disk came with the computer.

I also have a recovery disc and a system image on disks created with Macrium Reflect two days ago.

I also have a recovery disc and a system image is created on an external hard drive Seagate two days ago. (I've read mixed reviews on these is currently working as a media of rescue with Win7 Pro).

I guess if I use the HP recovery disc I would be then just use any system image I prefer, without the recovery disk. Anyone know if it makes a difference at all which method to use?

    bozzle73

My recommendation would be to restore using the image of MR (Macrium Reflect) you did.

But then, I used Mr. on all my PCs for years and am a big fan - having had it Miss ever in the years and years of use.

You will need boot from the boot of MR media (you did that right) and, if you photographed all the required partitions for the operating system, restore it on the new drive should take a few minutes, and when this is done, you reboot and everything should be OK.

    Good luck

I'm a volunteer and I do not work for, or represent, HP.

  • Having trouble installing new drivers after installing a new hard drive and Windows Vista.

I just installed a new hard drive on my computer of dell inspiron 1525. I managed to do it and it worked. I had a disc from dell to reinstall windows vista edition Home premium 32-bit and had drivers and utilities dvd. However I couldn't connect to the internet. I understand I'm missing some drivers but I rebooted the computer, but it goes to the black screen asking you to start in safe mode, safe mode with network, normally and something else. But after trying all of them, it goes straight to this same screen. What can I do? Or I can clear the new hard drive and start over? Any ideas?

I suggest Download driver network card on another computer, and then transfer the file using any flash drive and even install in the computer you have challenged.

  • HP G71: Install the new hard drive and the raw copy

    Hello

My HP G71 is 64-bit, 4 GB RAM and hard drive WD320BEVT. The laptop has more than 5 years of service and I want to replace with a new hard drive while performing a raw copy of the current. I have a dual boot Win 7/Ubuntu installation I want to keep on the new hard drive.

As I have not found a new HD of the same type and capacity, I would like to replace the current one with an another Western Digital 2.5 ", the IDE interface, but with a capacity of 0.5 to 1 TB (I choose one or the other).

    My questions:

-can I install one of these hard drives on this laptop? They are compatible with the current BIOS/chipset?

-If I make a raw copy of the 320 GB drive to the 0.5 or 1 TB, how would the current operating system partitions will be reflected in a higher capacity drive?

-J' bought an IDE/USB interface adapter as well as to make possible the raw copy, could you recommend, if these questions have the THUMB, a good free to use software that I could use?

    Thanks for your help!

Yes I use Kubuntu and tried several times to just the entire disk image and it does not reproduce partitions Linux and Grub, but when you try to start Linux it will hang and say can not find the prior specific hard drive. So now I just make a backup of Windows and reinstall Kubuntu from scratch. Much easier. I think there are also Linux backup programs you can use, but never really saw the need.

  • How to install the new hard drive on PowerMac G5

How it installs a new hard drive on PowerMac G5?

I have a number of readers of the previous Mac that can fit in this PowerMac G5, but I don't know what - if anything - is necessary to make them fit. Or guides, assistance would be appreciated.  Thank you!

You need a 3.5-inch SATA drive. Concerning how to swap the drives you can use these instructions to fixit. You can skip step 4 that this plastic cover does not need to be removed. https://www.iFixit.com/Guide/Power+Mac+G5+hard+drive+replacement/1952

    HP Pavilion Dv5 - 2077 cl/entertainment laptop
    Product #: WQ799UA #ABA
    Windows 7 64 bit

    Hello-

So for a while now, I get a blue screen randomly, popping up all the time and some time, who is going to "clear my physical memory" or something and then restart after like 30 seconds. I posted in the forums, once it all started and support told me to run tests and finally told me that my hard drive has been the reason for these constant errors. Then I backed up everything, in anticipation of a real accident.

I'm about to order a new hard drive from Newegg.com, and I would like to know if it is difficult to replace a hard drive in a laptop, or if I should have Geek Squad do it for $50. In addition, I don't think I have the disk for the operating system that came with my computer, how do I order that HP and how much is it?

And, last but not least, is there a message or a video with instructions on how to install a hard drive and operating system?

Here is the hard drive Im currently looking, if could let me also know if this would be my laptop and if it's a good idea that would be great:

    Thank you very much.

    Hello

Yes, that's exactly what you do

    Kind regards

  • Install a new hard drive and Windows 7 loading no settings are changed on the mother board or bios installation? :

I have a desktop Dell-540 in which my c drive is a Raid 1 configuration of 1 TB (two disks to not up to 1 TB, Raid 0, which is the backup) which has all my programs and data.  I have a 2nd J: 1 TB (single drive - no raid) drive that I use as my back in-house to my drive c.

I am running in all genres or the problems of Windows 7 as well as running out of space so I would install a new 2 TB drive as new drive c and re - install windows 7 for a clean install on a single partition.  I intend to disconnect my current c drive (which consists of my two disks in a raid 1 configuration) as well as to disconnect the 1 TB drive unique j and connect my new 2 TB drive.  I would like to install a clean version of windows 7.  So my question is this:

If I disconnect all the old disks (c and J) and install a new one and start to load windows 7 on it, the new facility does affect the bios or motherboard settings?

f for some reason so I have encounter problems, can I just unplug my new drive of 2 TB and re - connect my original c drive and drive j back to the motherboard and have it load up as it was before original, I unplugged my old PC would be back up and runing?  Or, install Windows 7 on a new drive change the settings of the motherboard or bios Setup that would prevent me to connect to any return to as it was before I started?

In fact, raid 0 is striated, which means that two readers work as something one 1 TB raid 0 disk is made from two 500 GB drives. RAID 1 is mirrored, meaning that you would have two 1 TB drives each of which is one exact copy of the other. Replacing your hard drive and perform a clean installation of Windows 7 will not change your bios settings. You will need to enter the bios and change the configuration of the training of raid 0 or 1 for sata before install Windows on the new drive. To return to your original configuration and the hard disks, you will need to enter the bios and re - configure the hard drives in the raid 0 array or 1, whatever one you had.

  • After installing the new hard drive and using recovery discs, I get this message could not start because the following file is m issing or damaged system32\drivers\pci.sys

I just replaced my hard drive with a new because the other HD said imminent failure or something like that! Basically the hard drive was about to fail and I so now the new one installed and I used my recovery disks and all seemed well until the recovery disks have been completed and the computer says to get out them. Then the computer restarted several times and then I get this message:
Windows cannot start because missing or corrupt the system 32\drivers\pci.sys
Then he said: "you can try to repair this file by starting windows setup using the original configuration of the CD-ROM.
Select 'R' in the first screen to start repair.
one of the many questions I have is that CD-ROMs are talking? It is the recovery disk, they want me to or what? also if you know a CV or another page which includes help on this specific topic would also help! Thank you

    Hello panjok2,

Sometimes recovery CD are dependent on the architecture of a hard drive.  If it is different from the original disc, then we have problems.

In this case, the best thing you could do is contact HP and see if this is the case.  If it is not why this happens, they should be able to help you as well because they are the ultimate authority on their recovery process.

Let us know if you have any questions.

  • No Internet after the new hard drive and Windows 7 Clean reinstall

    I have a Dell Studio XPS 9100 I bought in 2011.

The Seagate Barracuda SATA 1 TB hard drive died, and I replaced it with a Seagate Barracuda 2 TB drive. The re - install Windows 7 went ok, but I couldn't connect to the net.

A ran the device driver and got errors on the network card and the RAID.

I went on the site of Dell for the 9100 and installed the drivers for the adapter and the RAID.

No luck. I always get the error "no card" as well as the error 'no cable not connected.

I read a lot of posts about this problem and am stuck.

Someone has an idea how I can fix this once and for all and go on the internet?

I advise to patch Windows 7 with the WSUS Offline Update:

  • HP Pavilion DV6-6c35dx: potential problems with OS driver install the new hard drive?

I want to spend the hard drive of my laptop, but my laptop did not come with recovery discs. I buy a full copy of Windows 7 Professional, but I did save it... because when everything has failed, I guess. If I'm able to reinstall Win 7 Home or if I have to install Win 7 Pro, how can I be sure to reinstall all drivers HP (p. ex., trackpad, meaning cool, beats audio, etc.) for my machine? It is best to download the drivers before you install the new hard drive and have them ready on a flash drive. or is there an easier way? Thank you.

I personally prefer the new OEM installation & then get required drivers to download for HP support for your laptop model.

It is slower and more difficult to do if it is not too well known, but the end result is much better.

If your system has flaws you should try to fix first, but better long-term results come from clean install generally.

Thanks for these videos. It may be useful to replace the memory, but I think that the owners of the laptop should not open the case. This may void the warranty.
