How to install Windows XP Home on Satellite A300?

Please help me! How to reformat and install the operating system Windows XP Home for Satellite A300?
Can someone help me with this?

Thank you...

Hello

First you need to download xp drivers: http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/download_drivers_bios.jsp
Second, you must create the floppy or custom installation CD of Windows XP with integrated storage drivers. the custom installation CD, you can use Nlite http://www.nliteos.com/. There are guides in different languages, so you won't have a problem to create a. Don't forget it will have to include "Storage drivers", without them, Setup does not recognize the hard drive.
Third install XP :)

But be aware, you may encounter some problems, as audio doesn't work do not (updated Windows XP specific need or Service pack 3), some Fn keys not working do not, some unrecognized hardware and so on... You really have to patient when installing XP on new laptops. So good luck

(Tip: download all readers and store it because it is quite possible that the LAN/WAN connection will not work without a driver)

See you soon

If I have an external floppy drive can't, I used a USB drive external hard also add the necessary drivers so that Windows XP can see my hard drive (160 GB HARD DRIVE (5400 RPM) SATA).

    Hello Xavier

I think installing WXP on L40 laptop is most asked in recent months. I recommend to check this forum category and you will find answer to your question. If you have no floppy, it shouldn't be a problem at all. Solution is Nlite software.

Use as search terms in the advanced search option and you will find so many threads with exact explanation on its use.

  • How to install Windows XP Home SP2 to a Dell 755 Tower comes with Vista Business installed?

    OK guys,

I aquried a used Dell 755 minitower that had wiped HARD drive, but originally shipped with Vista Business installed o/s. This computer still had the sticker code product key for Vista Business on the computer.

I have a Windows XP Home SP2 OEM disc with a product code and tried to install it on this computer, but I get an protection windows with a blue screen error whenever I tried.

I have a Vista Home OEM disk basic with its own key code product. The computer has allowed me to install this operating system, but not would allow me to use its product key code, but would allow me to use the old Vista Business key product code that was on the computer and complete the installation. Everything was fine, but I just don't like Vista o/s and I would like to install my OEM Windows XP Home SP2 to this computer and high grade it to SP3.

In dealing with this computer, I discovered it would allow me to load Windows XP Pro just find, but I was using a copy borrowed this o/s and had to uninstall if I could return it to its owner. I also borrowed a copy of Windows 7 OEM I installed in this machine and it works just fine, but I had to uninstall it to return to its owner.

I still want to know why I can't install Windows XP Home Edition for this machine.  Does anyone have information about this situation or a way to solve it?

    Btk (billy the kid)

Looks like the drive you borrowed your friend had a SATA driver integrated into it.  What you can do, is go into the BIOS and change the AHCI to IDE mode.  This should allow you to install XP.  Or you could use a floppy disk and install the driver by pressing f6 during installation.

Don't forget: OEM keys are related to the original motherboard enabled on.

  • How downgrade to Windows XP Home on Satellite Pro A200GE with XP Toshiba Recovery

Hi I have A200GE seen preinstalled Windows vista business edition and I ordered with windows xp and xp dvd recovery came as his 3.01 GB.

I really don't understand why he cannot install as when I install a blue screen comes in restarting the laptop and the end.
I got to know the nlite software and sata drivers I loaded the sata drivers on another dvd disc separately as nlite did not recognize my cd dvd window.

But again, I loaded the files separately, now when I loaded this dvd the installer does not start rather a back order type window opens and I don't know what to do.

Please someone help me how canI the xp recovery cd that came with my laptop because I'm desperate to use vista is too slow and I can't tolerate it.

    Hello

Before using Windows XP Home edition please check Toshiba support page and make good BIOS update. As far as I know Toshiba offers WXP BIOS version. If I remember well he must be version 5.20 or something similar.

  • Re: How to install Windows on the new Satellite Pro C50 8.1?

I just bought a TOSHIBA SATELLITE PRO C50, that came with Windows 7 pre-installed.

When you start the system for the first time, I simply close and put Windows 8.1 media into the optical drive (disc 1 of 4) then entered the Recovery Wizard and may have chosen the wrong option, because I completely erase the hard drive and partitions.

Now that I did it, I can't find how to install the Windows Media Pro 4 DVD provided 8.1. I can't find the correct option to do this. I changed the startup option in the control panel by pressing F2 at startup, so it reads from the DVD player. The DVD starts but then takes me into a recovery area of the system, which is not good as I wiped the system completely.

How can I just now to install the Pro 8.1 provided Windows on the clean system right now?

    Thanks for any advice.

First, I would like to know what model of laptop you have exactly. If possible, please report the entire model number (C50-xxxxx). I just want to check the specification for this model of laptop.

Did you buy this laptop as any new product and model in box?

Anyway, if you have installation discs original recovery for this, you should be able to install it without problems. Start your laptop and press F12 to get into the boot menu. This menu wil shown on the screen, insert disc 1 into the optical disk drive, choose the CD/DVD drive from the menu, and then press ENTER.

ODD must start reading Wizard disk / recovery will be shown o the screen. Choose the option to install out-of-box / factory settings and just follow menu on the screen.

  • How can I install windows XP on my Satellite A300-129

    Hello

Since a few days, I bought a Toshiba Satellite A300-129. I am very satisfied with the laptop, although I do not work with Vista, so I prefer the laptop reformat and install Windows XP Professional(32 or 64 bits, dunno yet).

However I do not know if I have to do something special for him, because it's my first laptop I have and I haven't had that one time a laptop with drivers on a CD. Now I'm spending operating system, I think I need some disk driver for my webcam and stuff like that.

    I hope some1 can help me :)

    Thank you very much

BTW, I'm Dutch, sorry for my English.

    > And I have a legitimate XP Pro license, but I n t understand what you mean with the things of the sata driver. do you mean that I have to ADD the drivers on the disk with windows XP?

The point is that your Windows XP CD does not contain the SATA drivers that are needed to recognize the HARD drive during XP installation procedure.
So, you need to include the SATA driver by pressing the F6 key while installing XP is loading. For this procedure, an external floppy drive unit is necessary.

If you n t have an external USB FDD drive, then you could create a CD of Win XP and could include the SATA drivers using the free software called nLite.

A single note; Use the search function of the forums for research on other threads on the nLite and how to create CDs. I remember that there are many discussions in the forum on this topic.

  • How to install Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit?

Hello! Can someone tell me how can I make Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit to 64-bit?

    Here's my question: -.

    1. I bought a version of Windows Vista Edition retail family Premium, the package has only the 32-bit support (DVD). I found a few website say that the product key for the retail version of Windows is for 32-bit and 64-bit, as long as we use 32 - bit or 64 - bit on a single computer at a time. If I'm wrong, anyone could answer my question?

    2. now, I plan to move from 32 bit to 64 bit, my problem is that the version sold at retail of Windows that I purchased only contain 32-bit media:-

    (a) is there a way I could install the 64-bit Windows?

    (b) is it possible I could get 64-bit support?

    (c) could I use media in Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit retail a friend to install on my computer? And after installation, I can activate Windows with my product key?

Looking forward to the responses, thank you.

Do you a clean install from 32 bit to 64 bit.

    http://www.Microsoft.com/windowsvista/1033/ordermedia/default.mspx

Link above is how you get 64 bit DVD, if you have a retail license.

You can use any Microsoft Vista 64-bit DVD and use your 32 bit key as you say it's Vista Retail

Or borrow a good Microsoft Vista DVD (not Dell, HP, etc).
A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
The product key determines which version of Vista is installed.

There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.

If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):

Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu
