How to join Time Machine to back up after I change my Time Capsule password?

I changed my Time Capsule password using Airport utility, and now my Time Machine backup on my Time Capsule. How can I change the password for the Time Capsule disk so that it can continue to back up?

How to change the word from Time Machine

You can also try the Capsule in the Finder for editing by selecting the data folder. He will ask the password to connect to the time Capsule.

I want to recover my files from a Time Machine on a Time Capsule backup. My Mac not connect to the Time Capsule said as he tells me that I entered an incorrect password. I've never had a Time Capsule password and it has never changed, nor no one else knows. Whenever I have try and enter my password, it tells me that it is bad when I know that it is not. The files are saved are extremely important and I can not afford these files to be lost.

How can I solve this problem?

Sorry, I'm not not clear about the question to know if you say that you used Time Machine on your Mac to back up your files on the time Capsule at the long... or, if you have a new Mac and try to access the files on the Time Capsule.

In both cases, you "see" the time Capsule if you open AirPort Utility?

We ask, is that you probably don't remember two passwords different on the Time Capsule originally implemented. One of them was a Base Station, or a password of the device... and the other was a wireless network password.

Chances are, you know your password wireless, but here you are prompted for the password of the basic Station or "peripheral" to the time Capsule.

  • How to use Time Capsule with Time Machine and no Wifi

Situation.  Late 2009 iMac with OSX 10.7.5.  Used Airport Extreme since purchase in early 2010.  Use a modem cable from Arris SB 6141.  Decided to upgrade to 2 TB Time Capsule.  And the problems started.  I put TC in place... Finally, with the help of the people of this forum (thanks).  Transport CANADA does not have the internet connection to the Modem.  New to this forum I discovered that the TC does not like the SB6141.  So I put the Airport Extreme in the network and work like a charm wireless.

Now, how can I connect the TC to the network or the Mac to use the part Time Machine?

I tried to put the TC in Airport Extreme with an ethernet cable.  First, the iMac would not recognize the local network by removing printers and the other external USB drive; and my TV got confused on what wifi network with the same name in which to connect.

Before I hit the reset button on the time Capsule I tried to ask what would be the right steps.

Thanks to the folks on this forum. Thanks for your help.  Hope you all a good holiday this year.

You should not have really big questions on Lion.

Connect the WAN of TC port on the ethernet port LAN AE.

Configure the TC in bridge. I disable the wireless to EI and let it run in the TC... that's much better work in this configuration.

The Mac that will backup must really be connected to the TC in direct wireless or ethernet... This will help loads.

The wireless work better on the TC... If it isn't, then you can swap EI... but I'd be surprised if that was the case.

  • How does the Time Capsule?

I'm looking into buying time Capsule Airpot but I have a few questions and hoping someone can help! I'm basically looking for a way to back up my MacBook Pro and replace my crappy router in the thought process was a good deal... However what I was asking, that's exactly how the backup works? It's like an external hard drive where my information will sit until the end of time? Or will they finally deleted? Like say I backup all my pictures and then remove them from my MacBook... They are never saved on the time Capsule airport or eventually be deleted?

I suggest a visit to Time Machine FAQ of Pondini for more information about Time Machine. Time Machine performs a type of backup archives where the old files can be deleted and replaced by new ones. Time Machine backup on a disk in the time Capsule.

TM only deletes older files if they have been removed from the source and when TM needs space on the backup to a new incremental backup drive. Time Machine "Jules Destrooper" its backups. over 24 hours, old backups, except the first of the day; These "dailies", old more 30-day backups, except the first day of the week. The weeklies are kept as long as there is room.

So, how long a backup rest file depends on how long it was on your Mac before being deleted, assuming that you do at least one backup per day. If she was there for less than 24 hours, it will be maintained for at least a month. If she was there at least a week, it will be maintained as long as there is room.

Note that, on a Time Capsule, the sparsebundle grows in size as needed, but not descended. View of the user of the TC so it seems that no space was released, although there may be space in the sparsebundle.

Once TM has found that it cannot free enough space for new backup it reports the disk is full. You can erase the backup disk and start your backup or replace the disc with a larger drive.

  • Routers changed; How to reconnect time capsule

Changed to Earthlink DSL to AT & T u-verse fiber and time capsule airport is no longer back up; AT & T set new router; I want to use only the Time Machine backup. What I have to do a hard reset of time capsule? Is there an easier way to reconnect with my iMac? I have now connected time capsule directly in my iMac, but still no recognition. Thank you.

Whenever you change the modem or modem/router, or change service provider, the time Capsule airport must be reset to the default settings and then set it up again to work on the "new" network

A hard reset on the Time Capsule will achieve this goal. Then, make sure that the Ethernet cable connects from one of the four <>- on the Uverse router/modem LAN ports to the "O" on the Time Capsule WAN port.

Set up the time Capsule still... you can use the same name and password if you want, or set up a new name and password if you wish.

  • How to restore time capsule to a single partition?

I have partitioned my 3T Time Capsule. 2T for storage and 1 t for backup, but I need to restore in a single volume. Someone knows how to do this?

    How did you score it?

There are no tools to partition a drive of TC.

So I suspect that you have partitioned a sparsebundle which is a virtual disk used by Time Machine.

  • How to encrypt time capsule after being 1st backups have clear?

    Hello world

If I backed up my data on my Time Capsule form decrypted and changed my mind, can I I now encrypt the Capsule of time without having to format it and do it again?

    Thank you very much!

If you are still using the OS X Mavericks (10.9.x)... as you enter... so you can have Time existing Machine to encrypt the backup file that you already have. It will take a long time... probably 3 or 4 times longer that it took to execute the first backup without encryption. Once this has been done, all future backups will be encrypted.

However, if you have a newer OS on your Mac as El Capitan and Yosemite, Apple removed the ability to encrypt existing backups in these systems, so you will need to start over, wipe the drive, and then choose the option to encrypt your backups, then rerun the first backup with active encryption.

If possible, connect your Mac directly on the Time Capsule using a wired Ethernet connection... (and turn off the WiFi on Mac)... for the first backup help to speed things along. Even in this case, you should expect the first backup to take at least 2 - 3 times longer than a backup not encrypted.

  • HOW THE AIRPORT TIME CAPSULE WIRELESS NETWORK IS PROTECTED?

I implemented the airport Time Capsule, using a DSL modem connected to the internet as its bridge.  MacBook Pro was used for initial set up by the bolt of lightning to Ethernet connector and then disconnected and works perfectly.  Now, I would like to use Wi - Fi for my Samsung phone not iOS.  On the Samsung wireless I connect to my home network using a password.  Well, I don't think that a password was never set.  How can I configure my wifi at home to establish a password?   I don't think that the modem settings should enter in solving this for me, but I'll add that the modem required a static IP address be entered for this connection when its router features have been disabled for the connection of bridge.

If the Time Capsule (TC) provides the wireless network, then you can secure it using AirPort Utility, as follows:

    • Run the AirPort Utility.
    • Select the TC and then, select change.
    • Select the wireless tab.
    • In the wireless security, select the type of security. I highly recommend that you choose: WPA2 Personal
    • Enter a password in the field password wireless. Enter the same password in the verify password.
    • Select Update.

  • How do the default editing a selection list after a change in another list of selection is made (not in cascade LOV).

    Hello

I searched for the answer for a while now, but could not find a solution to my problem. It's a rather trivial issue, but after dealing with more urgent problems, I stuck with it and I can't move forward I use Apex 4.2.1

OK, lets start with a description.

I have two selection lists. After making a choice in the first, I would like to than the second value to change. It is not cascade LOV case, however, at least I don't.

Let me give you an example. Suppose we have a table with name and default to the occupation.

    Name By default occupancy
    JohnDoctor
    MarkFirefighter
    GeorgeFirefighter
    TomConcierge

End user first selects the name in the first list, then the occupation of another. It's perhaps not clearly in the example given, but the order of the questions.

What I want is to force a change in the second value in the list after a choice in the first. So after the name is chosen, the occupation should switch to the default.

The assignment is the most typical, but not the only one. So I want the end user to be able to change the occupation if necessary. Tom of sense is not to be janiotor, it can be whoever he wants this is why it is not cascade LOV problem.

I tried with dynamic action - definition of value and then refresh. It works when the second selection list is the text field. I can't find a way to make it work with another selection list.

    Hope you can help.

    Concerning

    AEMs salvation,

What I wanted with display and return value, you usually have a list of selection like this query:

    SELECT occupation d, occp_id r

    OF professions

If your return value is an identifier. To use the text as return value is rather rare. Where my question, because obviously you must select the return value in your query, NOT the display value.

So let me explain what is a set value. It takes the value of the server by using your query and AJAX in the background, then uses Javascript to set the value of the item in the browser.

At this point your selection list still has the OLD value in the session. Then, you do a refresh and the element uses the old value, and it seems that nothing happens.

    So solution:

-clear default values, you don't need those

-get rid of refresh it in your DA

    Kind regards

    Joni

  • How to see files saved on my Time Capsule airport? All I see is the name of my hardrive.

I have recently started using Apple's Time Capsule airport and use it for my Time Machine backups. When I used Time machine in the post with an external hard drive, I can go and see all the backups and individual files, if I needed to. However, with my new Time Capsule airport, I don't see the name of my hard drive. Is there a setting someone to reveal all the files and individual backups?

If you want to see the files Time Machine has saved on your Mac...

Click the 'clock' Time machine at the top of the screen of the Mac

    Click on enter Time Machine

For more information about Time Machine, see this Apple support document: use Time Machine to back up or restore your Mac - Apple supported

However, if you are asking how to see the files that Time Machine has saved time using the Finder Capsule...

Click on the Time Capsule icon under the heading Shared in a Finder window

A disc hard... named 'Data' unless you have changed the name... is displayed on the right

Double click 'Data' (may asked you the peripheral Time Capsule password when you do this)

Double-click the sparsebundle bearing the name of your Mac

A reader named Time Machine backups will appear on the desktop

Open the drive and go through the levels to find the files you want

  • Having WiFi problems could be Time Capsule

I have an Arris 6190 modum, but I have the old model of the time Capsule that I use for my main router as well as two airports hard apple wired connected. Comcast came out, and they suggested that the old time Capsule could be the problem. Have not disappeared even though the storage on the older, therefore hoped not to buy a new. Someone at - it experience with this? Would also need to buy new airports as well?  Thank you.

What exact model is your 'old' Time Capsule?

However, you should be aware that there are several posts here in communities of Apple support about Arris/Motorola SB61XX-series modems with 802.11n base stations or 802.11ac airport. This is not bad in itself, but they do not seem to 'play nice' together. The most common symptoms reported are slow data transfer rates and inconsistent Internet connectivity.

If this is the case for you, the basic option is to replace one or the other. Depending on how old your Time Capsule is, it may be due for a replacement.
