I right click, but do not have a way to place a shortcut on the desktop. It's for Facebook. How can I make and place a shortcut?
bold text

Hey jm122046,

It's actually very easy to do. All you have to do is to go to the Web page you want to bookmark. Click the icon of the site on the left side of the URL, and then drag the icon on your desktop.

It is probably easier to see it done, then you should look at the article create a shortcut on the desktop to a Web site.

I hope this helps!

    Hello

Thank you for your update on the issue.

If I understand correctly, you are unable to open the shortcuts in internet Explorer on the desktop for a maximized window. Please, try the following steps and check if the problem persists.

    1. Right click on the shortcut on the desktop, and then click Properties.
    2. In the shortcut tab, change the option extended in the run section.
    3. Click OK.

Check if the problem persists. Please post back your results for assistance.

If your laptop has been delivered without recovery DVD and with recovery image stored on the HARD disk, you can boot and install it by following this document - http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD9102IR0000R01.htm

If this does not work, then you have a problem.

To do now you would need to set up a google map map and the user will have to click the steering function.

Please, let me know. So, how can I remove arrow shortcut in Windows 8 sign? I don't want to use third party software to do.

OS: Windows 8 Pro with WMC

Short answer: no, there is no setting in the front-end interface for this.  There is no switch.

    But...

You can do this by editing the registry yourself.  I recommend doing a first system restore point, so you can easily cancel your changes if something is wrong. 30 seconds spent doing a quick control point can save hours and days of disaster later.  To create a restore point, go to your start page and type "create restore point" and select the appropriate option in the settings search results.

Once you have made your point of control, you can use these instructions to modify the registry:

    http://www.computerperformance.co.UK/WIN8/Windows8-remove-shortcut-arrow.htm

Note: This is not supported. Microsoft technical support will not help you if there are problems with the registry change.  That's why you should make a checkpoint first.

  • How to restore the shortcut menu for my XP desktop icons?

After an attempt to reinstall IE8 (uninstall older versions), the context menu for each icon on the desktop no longer appears as it has already done. The list is totally different. How do I restore the menus?

To all: this issue is now resolved.

The culprit was a directory of IE8 has crashed. It seems that under xp, a lot of files and settings are common to IE8 and other applications (Outlook Express, and help & Support print, etc.), they were all affected. Manually, I deleted the directory ie8 (2) duplicate and cleaned the ie8 entries (2) invalid in the registry. Then I downloaded IE8 anew and reinstalled. After the reboot, all my problems have been fixed. The right click menu office was restored, as well as the OE print functions.

Thanks to all who have offered their help.

Looks like that the user's desktop all both your desktop of the user profile are pointing to the same folder. Your office is composed of two merged records (most registry SPECIFIC icons like my computer).

Click Start - All Programs - Accessories - right on command prompt and choose run as administrator. Type Regedit.

    Access

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders

and ensure that the Office is of type Reg_Expand_SZ and value %userprofile%\desktop.

    Access

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\explorer\User Shell Folders

and to ensure that the joint office is of type Reg_Expand_SZ and value %public%\desktop.

  • I accidentally put my pictures folder in the bin and emptied. How to make a comeback?

II accidentally put my pictures folder in the bin and emptied!  How to make a comeback?

If they are not in your Recycle Bin, restore it from your backup.

If you do not have backups, then you will need to use the specialist recovery software (search the Web) yourself or get a professional company to do it for you at great expense. The most important thing to remember here is that after you have deleted your files, they still exist, but are considered as a free space on your hard drive and can so be replaced by your PC at any time - use your PC only so much it is necessary to recover the files. The more you use your PC more the chances of your files become corrupted and unrecoverable.

    Some people recommend

recovery software. However, I have not used, so I can't personally recommend.

For later use, if anything either on your PC is valuable or irreplaceable, you must save it to a separate drive. Hard drives are mechanical devices with very fast moving parts that can fail without warning at any time. There are many other ways to lose too much data.
