    Hello

by updating my equipment VI 3.5 of old AMD Single Core of AMD Quad-Core a problem has occurred: the new CPU´s of course have a different CPU - ID, so it is not possible to do a live migration of my virtual server VC from the old machine to the new one.

A migration cold is of course not possible, because after the stop server vc I ve no connection via VC Management Console... of course

How can I get my VC-virtual server running on new hardware, I guess that there must be a solution and I hope I m not the only one, who runs a virtual VC server and must change the material

If the VCVM is on the only shared storage remove the virtual machine from the old host and enter it on the new host by connecting the VI client to each host. TO register to browse the store of data and right click the .vmx file and click Save

If not on the shared storage (but I hope it is) you can copy the files from the virtual machine (*.vmdk and.) VMX file) from one host to another using the SCP. Then connect to the new host using the VI client and enter the VM VC

  • How only migrate data between SQL Server 2008 Oracle 11?

According to our requirement, we only have to migrate data from a SQL Server database to an existence
    Oracle database user.
    (1) I tried to do with the wizard of Migration SQL Developer 3.0.04, but find a problem.
    My SQL Server database name is SCDS41P2 and my Oracle database user name is CDS41P2;
When I used SQL Developer move offline data by the Migration Wizard, I found all the oracle user
name in movedata files who obtained by running the Migration Wizard
is dbo_SCDS41P2. If the Oracle user name is not the same as my Oracle username existed.
the data cannot be moved to my user Oracle existed when I run oracle_ctl.bat in the command line window.
So I had to change the Oracle username in all the movedata files, but it is difficult to change because there are a lot of tables in

    Hello
After following with development the following should work too-

1 use the migration option to capture and convert the SQL * database server
    2. go in SQL * Developer and remove the converted model.
    3. click on the captured model and choose 'convert '.
    4. click Next and you should get a screen with 2 options - "Data Type Mapping" and "Object Naming.
    5. choose "Object Naming" and scroll down the list until you see the name of the user who will be transformed. For example, in my test, I got the names scott_test and dbo_test - where the owners are 'scott' and 'dba' and 'test' was the name of the database.
    6. change the name of oner_database to just owner - scott_test to scott
7 complete the conversion process and the owners must be created without the name of the database.
    8. you should now be able to generate the SQL * scripts of charger with only the name of the owner in the CTL files.

Please try this and let us know if it works for you.

    Kind regards

  • How to migrate Win 2000 Server Ad to Win 2003 Ent. Server

    Dear all,

Please help me. I'm going to migrate my Active Directory to the desktop of Windows 2000 SP4 for Windows 2003 Enterprise Edition 32-bit SP2. I know it's too late to do this, but I have no choice, my admin old office this is done than why I have to do. Anyway, lert I such you on running environment, we have a domain controller that was migrating Win_NT 4, now it runs with a PDC and the two additional domain controller and there were another two domain controller failed hardware. so, in my DC now showing a DC hand and another of 4 (four) backup domain controller. If can help me how I start first?
    Thank you
    Fredy

Thanks Shenan Stanley, in fact as you left it I know by searching on google, but my problem is a bit shallow. I have a test planned for it. I take the production (State system with sysvol, and then restore it on the place of the test) my production DC and BDC. and try to migrate. I did the command adprep/forestprep and adprep /domainprep and this made DC schema version is 31.

and I joined Win_2003 server as a member of DC. now, the part of the domain controller extra to do, when I tried to do, he proceeds, but after a sudden period it shows version of schema not prepared. now the question is ' is that we have two ADC which was not demote normally? When I look at the announcement there are five DC with DC.

So what you're saying is that you do not know how to promote a Windows 2003 server to a domain controller in a Windows 2000 domain?

    Really old stuff...
    This will help you:
    http://www.Petri.co.il/windows_2003_adprep.htm

"Before you can introduce Windows Server 2003 domain controllers, you must prepare the forest and domains with ADPrep utility.

    • /Forestprep ADPrep on the schema master in your Windows 2000 forest.
    • The command /domainprep ADPrep on the infrastructure master in every AD domain. »
  • How to migrate the production to the server in recovery planning disaster?

We use planning 11.1.1.3 Oracle repository. Currently our name of the DR Planning Application is different from the production name and Windows of the DR server names are different from Production. Otherwise, any other configuration even.

How to migrate production planning to the recovery server disaster? We stopped planning on DR server. Then we exported repository Oracle of production planning and it imported in DR Planning. We restarted Dr. DR planning planning seems to work very well, but I'm afraid to click on "Refresh planning" DR Planning - it can update the Production Server. So, how can I be sure that DR and Production planning are disconnected?
Is there something we need to do? This method seems to be faster than the migration with LCM.

Published by: Essbase Fan on October 18, 2010 10:11

You must go about it the right way, if you migrate all planning an application, I agree that it is a safer and faster way.
The essbase connection information is stored in the planning system database/schema, so as long as you have not migrated that then you should be good to refresh.
To put your mind at rest, connect to the planning application and change the source of data associated with the application and then you will see where the essbase server is that it's going to update.

    See you soon

  • How to migrate virtual machines from the virtual server MS in Lab Manager?

We migrate our environment. So primary question is - how to migrate our MS VirtualServer VMs to Lab Manager?

    BR

    Hello

Have you tried using using VMware vCenter Converter?  It can take Virtual PC machines and turn them into VMs VMware (.vmdks), you should then be able to manufacture models of VMware virtual machines, import them into the Lab Manager and voila.

  • I'm trying to migrate data from a server to a new one with the file permissions of the files of users and records lost.

    original title: robocopy

I'm trying to migrate data from a server to a new one with the file permissions of the files of users and records lost. So far, that's what I did, I used \\server1\share \\server2\share/sec /mir robocopy and robocopy \\server1\share \\serve2\share/e/s /copyall. It seams like they copied all files with the permissions of the user for the files, but not files. For example, if a user makes a folder with the files in the folder appear them have permissions appropriate for them but not the root folder or subfolders, they did... How can I fix this and what is the difference between / s /mir and/e/s /copyall?

  • How to migrate from OSH to ADR?

    Afternoon everyone,

I have an existing installation of OSH that is running that a number of DAD to connect to different databases, all running Apex 4.2.  I'm looking to migrate to ADR on Tomcat.

I tested the deployment ADR on Tomcat and connecting to a new installation of 11g default XE and everything works fine, I'm comfortable with the process of functioning of the installation of the ADR itself, but I was wondering if there is a document on MOS or a similar place on how to migrate an existing install, what pitfalls to look out for , which may need to change when you use a different headset etc.

I read a thread here that mentions things like authentication may need to change the use of the listener of ADR on OSH etc.

As a side note, I am aware that I can convert each of these files DAD individual war deployed on Tomcat by changing the file name from war and using a different context root, or I can use the map and configure each database on a single installation of war ADR, it not a lot of documentation on this is there a recommended Oracle position on this?

If someone is able to provide guidance or a link I would really appreciate it.

    Kind regards

    Rich

You change the layer Web of Oracle APEX and there is nothing other than the correct configuration of the Web server with the existing installation of Oracle APEX.

I read a thread here that mentions things like authentication may need to change the use of the listener of ADR on OSH etc.

Then mention that the son, and how they resemble your problems of authentication scheme.

With ADR 2.0 (last ADR 3.0) you do not need to generate different ords.war for each configuration of DAD. In this ADR, you configure several databases and through the URL mapping feature, you can have multiple instances APEX listens to a Web server.

  • ESX 3.5 migrate vcenter to another server

How to migrate from ESX 3.5 vcenter migrate to another server? I need to drop the current server vcenter.

What is the best way to migrate?

Also, how can I move the license server?

    Thank you

Be physical vmotion wouldn't work - then you options:

    (1) vCenter maintaining physical - to maintain the existing environment, you will need to copy the existing database on the new server vCenter - once it is install a new copy of vCenter on the new machine set up the oDBC connector to point to the version copied from the database. If you are not concerned to maintain the existing environment, you can simply install a fresh instance of vcenter and remove the old environment ESX hosts and add them to the new vcenter.

Yu could also invest in a product like PlateSpin migrate and migration of P2P.

    (2) travel vCenter for a VM - use Standaloone of VMware P2V VM vCenter Converter.

  • How to migrate hosts to one vCenter to another with vDS?

    Hello

I have 3 hosts who is currently on vCenter 5 and I would like to move in my recent 5.1 vCenter.  Normally, this would be an easy task but with VDS imply I'm bit of confusion how to make the migration without losing the SVD and adjustment.  I don't want to have to rebuild the vDS in the newly built vCenter 5.1

What are the steps?  Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you

5.1, you can export and import the settings listed here, but you will not be able to do in your case.

VDS Import/Export with PowerCLI | VMware PowerCLI Blog - Articles from VMware

It seems you are trying to do it in an environment 5.x however.  You need to move all your hosts to a standard pass and then unregister / re-register again Vcenter.

The process is well documented on this blog:

    Hello
Export will not work in this case because during export operation that she will perform only the parent and child records record is put aside.

  • application server oracle migration to a new server with SSO

    Application server: 10.1
    repository database: 9.2.0.6

    Old OS: Tru 64
    New operating system: Solaris

We just want to migrate to the new server. We're not modernize our versions of oracle. We continue to get username / password is wrong when we try to use single sign on with the new repository. When contact us the Oracle support we work around the race. They are simple and there is no documentary research he actually did this or knows how to do a migration.

Is someone did a migration of the repository with single sign on? What metalink document did you use?
Is it possible to simply export/import data?

you might be falling into this scenario.
the version of your database is the same, you have found the similar error stack, on executing the script of ssomig.bat even.

Please see this note on Metalink2: Doc ID: 430523.1

    '' Cause. ''

The 10.1.2.02 standards body. ssomig script uses the import/export utilities in its $ORACLE_HOME, 10.1.x. The SSOMIG script assumes that the metadata repository database is a version that uses the same current version of SSO import/export utility. In your case, this is not true.

This causes a problem when the source repository of metadata is 9.2 versions. In a database import/export utility perspective, this is an unsupported configuration, a newer version of export cannot be enforced against an earlier version of the database. An earlier version of export can only be run on a later version of the database. It is documented in the Guide of the database utilities.

    Solution
To implement the solution, please perform the following steps:

    On the source server
    1. run the House against the 9.2.x 101202 fight database catexp.sql.
2 copy files/directories SSO and Perl 101202 House Home 9207
    3. run the ssomig-export of 9207 House
4 copy the ssomig.dmp resulting and the ssoconf.log to the SSO target
    5. run ssomig - import.
