  Albums do not store photos. They use and referencing the photos that are in your library. You can add a photo of your camera albums as much as you like, but the photo should stay in the camera or the album can not use it.

  Well, the simplest thing would be to this point to simply move the images in the Finder to anywhere where you like and then start again with a new catalogue, but if you have a LOT of albums, what spoke to you (copy/move) is to move the pictures in offline or on a different hard drive.   Hi there, if I understand what you want to do, there are a number of applications that can achieve this goal, some are free and some paid.  I used FileBrowser that allows you to select the files you want and then copy and paste to iCloud by car and other places of cloud storage. I also use 5 Documents that is free, but not sure that it allows the selection of multiple files.

  I believe that your files in iCloud drive and your phone are not related and so if you delete the photo on your phone, it will not erase the iCloud version.  Worth a try it with sacrificial photo just in case there is something in your settings that would make different however.

  And now photoshop can record up to a maximum of 32 bits/channel.
