    I found a solution. If you go in Subject: config, then find the browser.search.showOneOffButtons boolean and rocking that it restores the old functionality. (You may have to restart your browser)

    Hello Chaosdruid, This is the correct behavior, ctrl + f to open the search bar, try Firefox Safe Mode to see if the problem goes away. Firefox Safe mode is a troubleshooting mode that disables some settings and disables most Add-ons (extensions and themes).

    (If you are using an additional theme, place you in default theme.)

    If Firefox is open, you can restart in Mode without failure of Firefox in the Help menu by clicking on the restart with the disabled... modules menu item:

    If Firefox is not running, you can start Firefox in Mode safe mode as follows:

    • On Windows: Hold down the SHIFT key when you open the desktop Firefox or shortcut in the start menu.
    • On Mac: Hold the option key during the startup of Firefox.
    • On Linux: Exit Firefox, go to your Terminal and run firefox-safe-mode
      (you may need to specify the installation path of Firefox for example/usr/lib/firefox)

    Once you get the pop-up, simply select "" boot mode safe. "

    If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to understand that one. Please follow the section Troubleshooting extensions, themes and problems of hardware acceleration to resolve common Firefox problems to find the cause.

    To exit safe mode of Firefox, simply close Firefox and wait a few seconds before you open Firefox for normal use again.

  • How to remove the search bar in a new tab window so that I can have nine tiles instead of only six?

    I used to get nine tiles when I open a new tab. All of a sudden I get 6 votes against and a search bar at top. All attempts to remove the search bar failed. I tried to change the rows and columns in topic: config and I learned about the use of Ctrl/scroll to shrink the tiles to allow more screen. This is a dispute over what to happen. Is it possible to get rid of the search bar, or is it possible to get the nine tiles narrowed to arrive when I click on a new tab rather than having to scroll? Thanks for your help.

    Try this extension.

    Sorry, I don't know what you mean by "the task of the tool bar." Please
    clarify what it is.

    In addition, I would like to know how to get my taskbar to the normal position, all the way down my screen. Although by default, the taskbar is displayed on the bottom of the screen,
    It can be on any of the sides on what you prefer. To move any
    side to side, simply click an unused portion and drag
    where you want it. Don't forget to click inside it, not on the edge.
    by clicking on the edge and dragging will resize not move.

    If it does not move, it can be locked. In this case, right click on it
    and uncheck "Lock the taskbar", then try again.

    Moreover, with the screen monitors wide today, I prefer the taskbar
    on the left or the right of the screen. I think that allows a better
    use of real estate than have it at the bottom of screen.

  • How to restore the search bar drop-down list and the search engine icon today as it was in version FF 33?

    Some ealier time, I managed to go back to the drop down list via editing about: config and setting browser.search.showOneOffButtons to false.

    But yesterday firefox asked me to improve my search and I agreed. After that, I see ugly new tile instead of the drop-down list.

    How can I go back to find it is old menu drop-down appearance?

    "browser.search.showOneOffButtons" was a temporary pref which lasted from Firefox 34 upward through 42 of Firefox. The underlying code that have supported this preference is gone like Firefox 43.

    https://addons.Mozilla.org/en-us/Firefox/addon/classicthemerestorer/ has an option for old search (experimental) in Options of CTR > UI (1)

  • How to move the menu bar?

    I want to put my bar menu next to the address bar. The address bar is not 80% of the space on this line. PLENTY of room for the menu bar. I hate watching this big chunk of wasted space at the top of my screen where the menu bar and the bar above the menu bar to sit. remove the menus bar appearance of I'm looking for, but it does not use the bar of menus with passes through several clicks. Not convenient.

    Just to be clear. I do not see my office at the top of the screen. It's just the unused space.

    See this support article.

    https://support.Mozilla.org/en-us/KB/customize-Firefox-controls-buttons-and-toolbars

    IMO, the best thing to do would be to move all the items in the Navigation bar (where the address bar / URL Bar is located), one at a time and then hide the navigation bar.

    Another thing to consider is to use the Compact Menu extension, so that you can hide the Menu bar and have access to all these menus via a toolbar button. https://addons.Mozilla.org/en-us/Firefox/addon/compact-menu-2/

    And if you hide this toolbar button in the Palette, you can use the ALT key to open the 'menu' bar in a menu drop-down in the upper left corner of the browser window. No need for the menu bar or even a button in toolbar to take place of the user interface.

    I did my own toolbar a configuration of the user interface from the time of Firefox 1.0, I have even some of my favorites in a folder sitting to the right of the address bar. Drop down bookmarks FRO this folder as the 'links' over flow in Internet Explorer. Firefox is so configurable and extensible, the only limit is the imagination of the user!

    You remember the date where you did NOT have this problem?
    If so, the date is no longer is that there is 10-15 days?
    If Yes, do a system restore. Use this date as your restore point.
     Start button > Search box, type system restore > press the Enter key > uac prompt > click on choose a different restore point > next > select dates as your restore point, until the click > next > finish
    To sit and wait. The machine restarts when it's done.

    Note :( Optional) more often, does system restore in safe mode is more preferable.

  • The orange button Firefox used to be on the same line as tabs, how to move the tool bar of tabs to be on the same line as before?

    I now have the Firefox button orange on its own line at the top of the page, but it used to be on the same line as the toolbar tabs which takes less space. I know what happened before I put right but cannot get back them now on a single line.

    Make sure that you have selected cover via Firefox > Options.

    You also have to maximize the window to have the tab bar and the Firefox button in the title bar.

    You can also set the pref browser.tabs.drawInTitlebar Boolean to true on the topic: config page.

  • How to move the scroll bar to the bottom of the screen

    Hello

    I have a problem here that I hope someone on this list could help me to understand.

    Here's the part where my textArea is to:
    < mx:TextArea id = "text2" width = "250" height = "385".
    borderStyle = "none" text = "{book_info}" / >

    It's the variable book_info that I use to generate information to insert into text2:

    book_info = message + "\t" + message2 + "\n";
    var splitText:Array = book_info.split ("null");
    book_info = splitText.join("");
    trace ("\t" + message + message2);

    Text2.selectionBeginIndex = text2.length;
    Text2.selectionEndIndex = text2.length;

    The problem is that when text start to get generated in the text box, the text cursor is always at the beginning and the user must scroll to retrieve the newly added information.

    The code above allows you to be at the end of the text box, by definition Text2 in this case, the text cursor, but I find that I still have to scroll the scroll bar downwards to see the new lines added. Is it possible to add text so that my "scrollbar" position is always at the bottom of the screen? Pointers would be appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

    Alice

    I think it should be

      private function setMaxVScrollPos():void {
                    text2.verticalScrollPosition = text2.maxVerticalScrollPosition;
                }

        book_info += "\n" + selectedName + "\n";
                      callLater(setMaxVScrollPos);

    maxScrollPosition is read only
