3. If for some reason I want to reinstall the operating system from the recovery set DVD (s) factory setting of what is going to happen with partion E:\
4. What is-locations of D:\ marked as recovery?

1 is it possible without having to reinstall windows create new partion E:\ in order of the system backup images that him? If yes how to create new partition in win.8.1?

(1) YES. Please see Computers HP - partitioning and naming (Windows 8) readers for the instructions titled "create a new partition.

2. If the partion E:\ will contain system images can I boot from usb drive recovery and choose one of the system located on E:\ restoration images

(2) YES, provided that you mean a 'repair Windows USB drive '.

3. If for some reason I want to reinstall the operating system from the recovery set DVD (s) factory setting of what is going to happen with partion E:\

(3) If you "reinstall OS" a set of recovery discs HP or an HP Recovery USB Flash drive, partition 'E:\. "is erased as support for HP recovery returns the computer to a factory State. I suggest that you store your "Backup of System Image" windows on an external hard drive for best results.

4. What is-locations of D:\ marked as recovery?

(4) the purpose of the "D:\". "HP recovery partition is to create your recovery HP personal media, return the computer to a factory State and restore the originally installed drivers and software.

If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

Make sure that you have free space in each drive for better performance. When free disk space reaches 200 megabytes (MB) or less in a car, you will be prompted to free space in the disk.

  • Repair your startup disk Bootcamp disappearing after you create the new partition

. After some research, I found that it was the way forward to create a separate partition, and so I did another partition.

I didn't know it would affect my Windows partition that I thought it was completely different.

So now, when I start it up, there is no option to start with Windows. But when I boot the Mac and select Startup disk, it displays Boot Camp is still there, and all my files etc. are still there.

I tried to create one separate partition (other than Bootcamp). After that its done and I started my computer, I found that the option to boot Windows (Bootcamp startup disk) has disappeared. But I still see boot camp Mac files. Any solution for this? Thank you.

(I tried to find this solution on the discussion Forum, and I found: repair Boot Camp after having created the new partition, however, I'm not able to follow these instructions. any help would be appreciated)

I have an old XP computer where I want to add a second partition. The computer is part of a network of SBS 2008. Nor, disk management, or line of Diskpart command let me add a partition. I made changes to the lineup. After you set up backups to run every day, I went into the Scheduler of tasks in the windows and found the windows backup task. I then modified to run 12 hours later to run a second time in a day.

Is it because I moved in the planning of the backup by default a week at a time it does this.
My real question is how can I delete older backups and keep the most recent. It gives me the option to delete all the.

Apparently, it was not a problem. The first backup period went from 11/12/11 to 12/25/11. A NEW BACKUP PERIOD JUST STARTED AUTOMATICALLY on 26/12/11. The total size of the first full backup period was 29.5 GB. not sure if it's a default size that must be reached before start a new backup set or if a certain percentage of my backup destination must be reached before creating another. In any case, after this experience, the file and folder backup set will begin a new period if the other gets to a certain size.

Thanks for the reply. I appreciate it. In fact, I like the windows backup program. I work in Technical Support and to always direct people to Acronis, Ghost, which I've used Ghost before and like that also. During the action of Thanksgiving, I started to really dig into the windows 7 backup and Restore Center and there is more to that meeting the eye and it's free and ready to go in windows 7. I really recommend people now whereas before I used to steer customers people away from him. I used to think that you cannot retrieve the system image files as you could the ghost, but you can actually mount the backup of disk management by adding a virtual hard disk in the menu Actiion. pretty slick. I like the file and cause the backup folder part is kept the older versions as well as the most recent. I thought that the system images were not additional but felt they were. other that last compression on the backup images, the built-in Windows 7 backup solution is OK by me. I just wanted to learn more by posting here. try to learn as more not to complain. Thanks for all the answers.

  • Portege Z30 - how to create the new partition on SSD

    Hello
I have a Toshiba Portege Z30 with a 512 MB SSD. In addition to the C partition, I would D for the work and E for personal stuff.

By default, the laptop came with only C, but the disc already has 4 partitions:
-a healthy active recovery of 1.46 GB partition
    -c a partition
    -a 16 GB Hibernation partition
-a healthy 11.55 GB primary partition called drive HARD recovery when I use MiniTool Partition Wizzard

I managed to get 300 GB of unallocated space, but I can not use this space to create D and E, apparently because the MBR does not support more than 4 partitions.

Question: should I have all these partitions Toshiba? Is there a workaround for D and E? Can I create a USB drive recovery system and get rid of the recovery partition?

    Thank you

Before starting any discussion, I hope you didn t screwed up something. Why?

When you get laptop it has the factory settings and just with the factory settings, you will be able to create a media recovery (DVD or USB depending on the model). I hope this isn't too late now.

Try to create a recovery media as soon as possible please.
Post it please comment how it works. I hope that everything will be OK.

  • Issue after you create the new partition, Bootcamp expansion

    Hello

I hope someone can help with a problem I'm having.

I found an old Apple discussion on how to resize a partition, bootcamp, by reducing the size of the OS X partition, then using a Windows based tool to then extend the Bootcamp partition. Big mistake! I'm done with the same problem as the creator of this thread with my Windows no longer bootable partition.

I followed the steps described by lonely T, which worked perfectly! Thank you very much!

Then, I went into Windows and use the Partition Mini tool to extend the Windows partition in the unallocated partition, which worked fine in Windows.

However when I boot in OS X and open disk utility I see now 3 separate partitions. (1) mac HD. ((2) Untitled (the one I created) 3) Windows HD (Bootcamp). Then OS X is not recognizing that I extended the Windows HD partition in the Untitled one.

Is there a way to solve this problem without ruining it now expanded Windows partition? Windows does not seem to see two separate partitions, only in OS X I downloaded GPT Fdisk

    Thanks in advance!

Original title: Windows XP Home Edition Partition Question

I tried to create another partition on my computer running Windows XP, but when I go to disk management, it doesn't let me do anything when I right click on a partition. I can't make a new (tried with cmd and disk management) and I can't change the current criteria. Is there an option somewhere that prevents you from changing or something? • Unable to create the new folder. File system 512 error.

    Hello

I was not able to create new folders in my pictures public library recently. Whenever I do, I get a message from file system error 512.

A forum sponsor said that Windows 7 had a limit of cable of 50 folders under the images. Even though I've had 61 cases, which kind of contradict that response, I went before and tidy up until now I have only 39 files directly under the images. However, the problem persists.

Just for the record, I also did a registry cleaning, obviously have restarted, etc.

Any ideas out there would be more appreciated.

    Hello

Did you changes to the computer before you encountered the problem?

Check if you are able to create a new folder in the library of images in safe mode. To start in safe mode follow the link given below.

I have a fairly large [16 GB] flash drive (operating system must be the thing about flash player?) I can't seem to find the 7 starter version is...

I've been at this for a few days now with little result.  Thanks in advance for the direction and help.

Yet once, looks like a disk i/o error. Here's what I would do if I were in your shoes:

    (1) fix the WD to another computer with a box USB or SATA / USB and format it. Delete completely all the partitions on the disk in this way. Know what drive letter is assigned to it, run "cmd" and type "format D:" (without the quotes and this example assumes he has been attributed to the D drive letter).

    (2) if (1) completed, the installation and try again in the netbook. If this isn't the case, get a replacement drive.

  • Unable to start using training camp after you have created the new partition

Hello! I recently formatted my macintosh HD partition and reinstalled OS captain. After that, I am unable to boot using boot camp. I still see Bootcamp option in the start menu in the system preferences. All files are visible in the training camp in the finder. Please help restore the functionality of my bootcamp.

  • Partition Windows 10 does not start after you have created the new internal drive

    I'm running OS X 10.11.2.

I have set up a training camp 10 Windows on my Macbook Pro sometime ago, but today I realized that I need more storage. I watched how do so online and came across this thread:How to resize my bootcamp partition without deleting chtol. I followed the instructions, but could not know how do I find my Windows partition.

So I think that I have the problem described here: repair Boot Camp after having created the new partition. I did what Christopher Murphy described on the first page and this error message appeared when I pressed "w ":

"Failed to open device ' / dev/disk0 ' for writing! Errno is 1! Writing of abandonment! »

I deleted from the extra without internal hard drive name in the hope that he'll fix it, but it didn't.

I would like to enlarge my Windows partition, but at this point, as long as I can access my Windows Bootcamp partition, that would be great!

EDIT: I unfortunately do not back to the time Machine.

Resizing Windows partitions is not officially supported by Apple - Boot Camp: resize the Windows partition .

    Please after the release of

    diskutil list

    Cs diskutil list

    sudo TPG - vv - r see the/dev/disk0

    sudo fdisk/dev/disk0
