  I've recently completed the update of the firmware for the Airport (version 7.6.7) express and now when I open my MacBook Air (13-inch, mid 2013 w/1.3 GHz Intel Core i5;) El Capitan 10.11.5; all updates are completed) to use the internet, there is no longer my home wifi automatically.  This is not started past immediately after the update.  Now all of a sudden whenever I wake up my laptop, I had to choose for my wifi instead of having the automatic connection.  I change all parameters of airport utility or with my network preferences.  No other device (including the iPhone and AppleTV) on the network had this problem.  I did take my laptop anywhere else, so I don't know if is not to remember all the networks (even if preferences have known networks listed automatically to connect with) or if it is just with my home network.

  Any suggestions?

  On the MacBook Air, try to remove the current registration for the network in system preferences / network / WiFi / advanced

  Click OK, and then click on apply

  Turn off and restart the AirPort Express

  Hi, I had a MacBook Air "Core i5" 1.6 11 "(mid-2011) a few months ago by my sister. I'm new to Mac, but I've been fixing PC for more than 20 years. Need a little advice on the model of this issue.

  Short story is that the Macbook Air was dead. After buying the screwdriver specialized to open the macbook air, I managed to get out the internal SSD Flashdrive on but as Apple uses customized connectors I had to buy an external case to test the drive and he was DEAD.

  So I installed El Capitan on an EXTERNAL drive plugged into the USB. It's a plus for Apple to initialize external drives and a nice feature.

  Once I got the macbook air I found following several breakdowns of equipment.

  1 SSD drive is dead

  2 camera and the Microphone is dead. No facetime.

  3 the POWER BUTTON is dead and holding down the macbook air will not shut. (I had to unplug the connector from the motherboard) This allowed me to switch on/off the computer buy pulling on the magsafe power supply.

  I have been fixing computers based on Windows for decades and never seen so many parts fail both.    WHAT CAN CAUSE THIS?

  At first I thought it was the logic board at fault, but I doubt that is the case. I can only assume a power SURGE or something to do as much damage.

  I was hoping to get this up and running for my daughter from school to save money, but unfortunately not the case. The price of all the ssd drive is high and he still has a chance to not work if the logic board is also damaged.

  THEN AND MATERIAL SPECIALISTS MACBOOK GOT SOME ADVICE?

  Hi guys,.

  This morning, I opened my macbook air and something went wrong... When I opened the lid, there was the screen with the apple logo when you turn on your mac and then he went on the login page. I typed my password and you press on enter. It took 5 minutes before I could access my finder (and my computer did not have an update). I had to close safari, itunes, and messages, and then you press on stop, but the mac was just restart and not blocking down. I even tried to make a user account of guess so I could try to stop it on this user, but when I tried to log on the user to guess account, the screen went black, the mouse was looking, but nothing appeared. Then the screen went black and the fan of work stop, and I couldn't open the mac more (maybe it wasn't battery more, I do not know..) So I plugged it to load and then left for work. I wonder what that is is happened because I used it yesterday evening to make a thing of budget with excel and then I heard music on itunes and when I did, I closed the lid. Everything worked well. I downloaded a bittorrent Saturday, but it did not work so I deleted everything related to this event bittorent the app and I emptied my trash. So now I'm naïve. My macbook air is about 3 years old, maybe 4, but I really had problems with it before. I have no money I have buy a new either if one of you has a suggestion I could try, that would be really appreciated. If this isn't the case, I'll have to wear to apple if someone can fix it.

  I understand that you are not able to open the Contacts application on your MacBook Air running OS X Yosemite.   When this issue is produced?  Will there be any changes made to your computer?

  The first thing I would say is to restart your computer.  This system reset is often all that is needed.   If the initial restart does not resolve the problem, try to start your computer in safe mode.

  OS X Yosemite: start in safe mode

  If the problem still persists, if you use iCloud, check that your contacts are at www.icloud.com.

  Try to create a new user account.  Getting the Contacts app?  You can add a contact to it?  This will isolate the question to your user account or to a question of scale.

  OS X Yosemite: set up users on your Mac.

  If the problem turns out to be systemwide, then you should make a backup of your computer using Time Machine.

  Use Time Machine to back up or restore your Mac

  Then you can reinstall OS X Yosemite or update your software if your MacBook Air is compatible.

  Use Time Machine to back up or restore your Mac - before going any further, I always recommend a new backup at this stage. It is always better "to have" a backup for a backup "need."

  On OS X Recovery - if the problem happen in the user you set up previously, start up your Mac in OS X Recovery and reinstall the operating system.
