  • Is there an option that allows me to display my Home Page when a new tab is opened?

Tabbed browsing is great, but when you open a new tab it just opens a blank page. So I have to enter a URL or to perform certain actions to go where I want to go, which is my home page. There is an option to 'Show my home page' when Firefox starts, but I don't see a similar choice when starting new tabs. Anyone know if there is such a thing?

    Choose 1 of these add-ons:

    Module NewTabURL

    New homepage tab add-on

with newtaburl you have more options

  • How to open a tab in a new window

I remember, but by mistake, it seems, that "in ancient times", there is an option to open a tab in a new window. I can't find this option and I can't find such a topic in the forum so far. It is a very useful option. I use beta FF28 on a 64-bit W7Pro computer and with tab modules: tab history, mix label more and avoid the endless tab.

Hello MikeZgb2012, you can drag the tab of the tab bar to make it open in a new window.

  • How to open new tab as white?

When I open a new tab, I want it to be empty, it keeps or by default in my homepage (Google.com). I followed the steps (pasted below) several times. I put it to about: blank and restarted firefox, I even put then rebooted my whole machine... still no luck. Why is it so hard to just go back a new empty tab? Initially there was a gear on the top icon right when it has been tested to white, which is where I have put it to google.com the first time, but now there is no way to return to the user interface to change and the subject: config does not work either. I'm on a PC Windows 7 run Firefox 36.0.4.

Here are the steps that don't work:
    (1) in a new tab, type or paste about: config in the address bar and press ENTER. Click on the button promising to be careful.
    (2) in the search above the list box, type or paste newtab and make a pause so that the list is filtered
    (3) double-click the preference browser.newtab.url and enter your preferred page: blank tab = > subject: empty

What can I do else? Completely uninstall Firefox and re-install? Seems a little ridiculous.

If you are testing just after making the change to about: Virgin (press Ctrl + t) it works at this point before you exit and restart Firefox?

    If "no":

suggestion of cor - el that it could be your extensions is the next thing to check. You can consult, disable and/or remove extensions on page modules. Either:

    • CTRL + SHIFT + a
    • "3-bar" menu button (or tools) > Add-ons

In the left column, click Extensions. Then, take a critical look on the list on the right and turn off (or remove) something unknown.

If 'Yes', but change is returned to the next boot:

For example, Advanced SystemCare has this feature. You may need to disable 'protection home page', "browser protection" or "surf protection" in your software security/utility at least until you have Firefox works the way you want.

That's what I think, this is the default mode, it should appear (attached). If you don't mind erase your customizations of the toolbar and to re-customization, you can use the button "Restore default settings" in the personalization Control Panel and see if it brings back.

Hi Vicky, you can check the setting in Options to make sure that it is what you want:

Disable this box: "When I open a link in a new tab, switch to it immediately."

  • How to open the tab to make changes pending

    Hello

I accidentally closed the candidates tab in view of pending changes. So, how ca I reopen it again? I can't find a way to do it (JDev 11.1.2.3.0).

    Thanks in adnvance.
    Alex

Well, shoot the force method would be to rename the file to system11.1.2.x.x.x and let jdev re-create when you start next time.

However, I see this behavior in 11.1.2.3 to, but not in 11.1.1.7 where are no close icons available.

For me, what works for right click on an existing tab (for example outgoing) and in the context menu, select the other missing tabs.

My home page is set to the default normal page but when I open additional tabs a Yahoo page opens and I don't use it and don't want to do anything with it. I used to get the search page Google/MOY. This only happens when I open additional tabs.

Tab Mix Plus is a great add-on, I use it and love it, but it's a bit 'heavy' / large installation for just a single function. Tab Mix Plus performs several functions related to tabs and have many, many options that you can set related to tabs, including that your request.

One add-on which is much smaller and intended to perform only one function, opening a tab with the page you specify, is new TabURL:
