How to open PDF stored on the desktop

Why FF refuses to open a PDF file that is stored on a PC?

Thank you very, very much for your help and your patience!

I started FF with a second profile and now I can open PDFs in firefox eeseaaallyyy - what a relief. I don't know which setting is wrong with my FF profile primary, but I it will rebuild and then things should be good - thank you again for your help and your patience with a dilettante technique...

Now have solved this issue:

Why the FF search feature isn't able to access PDF files from outside the application PDF? If anyone program interface and to make this feature available, this would create FF apart from other browsers, many more millions of miles... at least for me as a translator and researcher.

What should be done?

I hope someone is inspired to make a reality.

Thanks again and good night!

How to manage open PDF documents in the same window?

When I open more than a single PDF docs and a second, third,... window opens, each document is opened in a separate window.

In previous versions (Acrobat 8 Prof.), all the documents were opened in the same window.

This is especially useful, because the windows are not spread over the entire desktop, and with ALT + TAB I can change between the documents, if I don't have that one window.

  • How to open PDF files across multiple desktops in Windows 10 Adobe Acrobat Reader task view?

I am running Windows on an Acer Aspire S7 10.

The question is, when I open a PDF on your desktop and then move to another office using Windows task view, I can't open a new PDF file open on the new office. What is the reader is that it opens the PDF on the originating office.

Could someone suggest how to solve this problem, which is to make a file PDF open in new office and not the original?

    Thank you.

    Hi torezhan94,

    Please open Adobe Reader.

Click Restore to the low next icon in the upper right corner.

Move to the next screen and shut up (do not maximize)

Open it again and now maximise

Subsequently, it will open on the other screen.

    Thank you

  • Opening PDF files on the only current desktop (Mac)

Is there a way to configure Adobe Reader DC such opening PDF documents only on the current desktop of OS X (10.10.5) I'm on? For example, I have 2 separate projects that I work on each with a set of PDF files. Project A is desktop 1 and B project on desktop 2. I open a PDF file in 1 Project Office. Then I switch to Desktop 2 and open a different PDF it. The default action, Adobe Reader DC done is open the 2nd PDF as a tab on the window of Adobe Reader DC of the office 1, with a tab next to the PDF of the project. What I would like is for Adobe Reader open the PDF of the project B on Desktop 2 (or any desktop computer, it's on) and NOT on the (pre-existing) window on desktop 1. The version of Adobe Reader would open a new window for each PDF file to the desktop, I was on and not switch to a window of Adobe Reader already existing (and open). How to get an Adobe Reader DC back to the same behavior as in Adobe Reader 11 short demotion to Adobe Reader 11?

    Thanks in advance.

Would request you to please try this:-Acrobat Reader > Preferences > General > under Basic tools uncheck the option for "Documents open as tabs in the same window.

Then click OK, quit the application and then restart it.

I would like to know if it works.

How can I configure my computer to the simple click with the mouse to double-click to open an item on the desktop instead

    Hi placebow,

Open the Options folder by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, appearance and personalization, and then clicking Folder Options. On the general tab, click single-click to open an item. (To return to the standard click, click double-click to open an item.)

The setting applies not only at the office, but also in other areas of the shell.

  • How can I make Windows 7 Explorer open my folder on the desktop instead of libraries?

I can find solutions that have me enter the GUID (Globally Unique Identifiers) for My Documents/computer etc, but I want Windows Explorer to start on my office if possible. Can someone explain how to do this?

    Three ways:

    1

1.1. open Windows Explorer, select theyourusername file C:\Users\

1.2 your desktop folder will appear in the right pane.

1.3 with the right button on the desktop folder and select Create shortcut.

1.4 you can now use this shortcut to open Windows Explorer on the desktop.

    - - - - - -

    2

2.1 while on your desktop, right-click, select new, select shortcut.

2.2 in the dialog box that appears, find the location with C:\Users\yourusername\Desktop tab, and then click Next

2.3 and enter any convenient name for the shortcut.

    - - - - -

3 [is perhaps the most convenient because it can be pinned to the start menu or the taskbar]

3.1 while on your desktop, right-click, select new, select shortcut.

3.2 in the dialog box that appears, find the location with C:\Windows\explorer.exe and then a space & then C:\Users\yourusername\Desktop tab, and then click Next

  • I try to get Firefox to open Vuze when I click on a magnet link, I get the following message: Firefox doesn't know how to open this address, because the Protocol (loving) is not associated with any program. tell me the solution

When I try to open a torrent using magnet, I get the following message. Firefox doesn't know how to open this address because the Protocol (loving) is not binding to any program.

I had this problem and just reinstalled Firefox. Problem solved. In my case, I believe that it is through the installation of FlashGet. Although I uninstalled FlashGet, it had outstripped the Magnet links / Protocol. I hope this helps you with your instance. Fortunately, I had Setup for my version of Firefox (7.0.1) registered and used that but you might need to search for your current version or install a later version

  • Problem of the intranet: "Firefox doesn't know how to open this address, because the Protocol (k) is not associated with any program."

Creation of an intranet to a collection of security videos and am linking to a video through a picture icon in the form of:
    < a href = "K: \'link to the movie" > ""
    < /a >

Overview on the works of IE9, the movie starts when the splash screen is clicked, but in Firefox, I get the alert "Firefox doesn't know how to open this address, because the Protocol (k) is not associated with any program."

InterLan VLC is the video player by default on the PC. I don't want to put video controls anywhere in the page.

I code for XHTML 1.1 strict with CSS 2.1, and Firefox 5 handles all of my eccentric styles while IE9 has a few issues, while Firefox is my browser of choice.

Looking at my Options in Firefox, 'File Windows Media audio/video' is configured to use VLC.exe, so I'm always looking to solve this problem.

    Any Suggestions?

You must use the Protocol file:// (file:///k:/link_to_movie).
Easier to see the links to use are to open a file via file > open a file

How to open a file with the extension .odg using Vista?

    Hi Defiant503,

Thank you for visiting the forums of answers.microsoft.com.

I did some research and a file ending with .odg is an OpenDocument Document OpenOffice/StarOffice (Ver 2) of graphics by Sun Microsystems, Inc. This means that in order to open this file, you will need this program to open it. You will not be able to open this file with Vista.

    I hope this information helps.

  • How to add a shortcut on the desktop for streets & trips 2013 for windows 7

Just installed MS streets and trips 2013, I do not see anywhere how to send a shortcut on the desktop. Tried to do a right click on the programs, but this option is not started.

I don't have the application under test, but normally you right click on the exe programs (or registering in the program menu) and either "create shortcut" or "send to" and then "desktop".

If the options are not there, your office, do new right click - shortcut, find your exe file of programs (the actual file you want to run) and and we should end up with a shortcut on your desktop to your program. (hopefully :-))
