How to prevent the opening of new windows in firefox? I want ONE INSTANCE ONLY.

I want to avoid the pop ups, pop unders, etc.. Literally not a single response was appropriate, so I rephrase the question. I want firefox even simply not acknowledge the request to open a new window or tab of the HTML, server, Web site, etc. I don't want to same notify you me, it's not has confirmed the request to open a new window or tab. I NEVER want to see a firefox window or tab or the instance that I have not caused directly via the mouse or the keyboard, and I want it to be COMPLETELY transparent. How do I do that? (I don't like the answer is long or technical).

Try Tab Mix more.

The add-on preceding can make some pop-up windows to open in new tabs instead. If you don't want pop - up opens automatically to all, you can set the preference dom.popup_allowed_events to a blank value in Subject: config. You can then open the blocked pop-ups by clicking on the notification icon on the right side of the address bar. You can also allow certain sites to open pop-ups under Options - content - Exceptions.

  • How to prevent the opening of the popup submenu of mx:MenuBar during its events mouseOver/rollOver?

I'm using a component mx:MenuBar with the xml data to a menu. The basic behavior as I see is, first by clicking on the top level menu item (IE on the horizontal bar), pop-up windows submenu opens. Then without clicking anywhere, if I have the mouse on / roll on the horizontal menu bar, the pop-up menus under other top level menus opens.

This behavior seems to be incompatible. The pop-up submenus should open either on click any element of top-level menu (menu bar horizontally) or only on mouse over / roll of the menu bar.

I want the pop-up submenus to open only when the click on the top-level menu (menu bar horizontally). So I added event handlers for the passage of the mouse as well as the rollOver events (I don't know which event gets actually produced on hovering over the menu bar horizontally). In the case of managers, I called the Event.preventDefault () method to prevent the default behavior (ie the opening of pop-up submenus).  But nothing works. I felt like I have no control over it.

How to remove the default behavior and open the pop-up submenus only on the click event of the menu bar?

  • How to control the opening of new tabs get

I just got a new laptop and cannot get my tabs to work as they did. On my old laptop, when I was in Firefox and clicked on a link, I stayed on the same tab. When I was reading e-mail and clicked on a link again, I have a new tab open.

On my new laptop, I got a new tab each time that a link has been clicked anyway on being in Outlook or Firefox - perhaps too tabs. My son helped me to change the subject: config file and now when I select links from Outlook, whatever tab I'm in is replaced by the link that I select in Outlook. I want my existing Firefox tabs remain the same and open a new one for the link select e-mail. However, I do not want a new tab for each link selected then in Firefox.

Hope that makes sense, thank you.

Normally, Firefox opens a link in the same tab, unless the link is coded to open in a new tab (or a new window). It should not be necessary to make changes in all: config for this standard behavior.

For the moment, you can have Firefox to open links in a new tab using one of the following methods:

    • Hold down the CTRL key when you click on the link
    • Right click on the link > open link in a new tab
    • Click on the link with the mouse ("middle-click") wheel

It is also useful to check if one of your modules could have an impact on how open links. If you look at your extensions installed, none of them relate to the tabs? You can view the page modules. Either:

    • CTRL + SHIFT + a
    • "3-bar" menu button (or tools) > Add-ons

In the left column, click Extensions.

You can enter their list for pasting in a response, another internal page. Or the other

    • button "3-bar" menu > "?" button > troubleshooting information
    • (menu bar) Help > troubleshooting information

In the upper left corner, find the button "Copy text to the Clipboard", click that they stick in a response. Generally no personal information is included, but please browse the data down to check any possible e-mail or any other personal information, and XXXXX outside address.

    Hello

If that happened, right out of the box, I would recommend Dell to search for known problems. It's probably a chart/device driver problem.

Whatever the cause, this should not be happening on a new computer.

  • How to prevent the automatic upgrade for Windows 10

Press reports say that Microsoft will 'soon' 10 Windows upgrade recommended for Windows 7, leading to the automatic download and installation.  I don't want that.  I have upgraded to Windows 10, then returned to 7 (leaving an extra 100 GB of something on my hard drive).  I intend to hold out until the last minute, and perhaps later.

So, how to prevent this scheduled automatic upgrade?  Do I have to turn off updates in Windows 7 and manually review every update?  What I read who cannot help because Microsoft does not offer as much detail about the upgrades as in the past.

Computers were a hobby for me in 1980.  After 35 years the computers are now a tool and their maintenance is a chore.  I'll learn Windows 10 when I need to and not before.  I really don't want to use 10 at home and at work 7.  When my employer upgraded, so I will.

    Hello DilbertFan,

For the first year that Windows 10 is out, he will be free to users with a license for Windows 7 or 8.1.

If you don't know that you do not want to update then please copy the text following that I have which is in italics below and paste it into Notepad.

The Publisher of the registry Windows Version 5.00[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Gwx]"DisableGwx"=dword:00000001

Once you have that then go ahead and save it to your desktop and save it under "block 10" or something like that. ""

Return to your desktop and locate this file and change the extension from .txt to .reg file

Save it, and then double-click the file. It is to modify the registry to block the upgrade of Windows 10. I use a lot.

    Thank you

  • How to prevent the substitution of pilot windows 7 prof

I work with a new configuration, Windows 7 Professional. The problem I have is with screen resolution. Windows has detected the monitor, but it should not be on the list and is labeled as generic no plug n play. I have the driver disk, but Windows refuses to use it and replaces it with the generic windows Monitor driver. This unit is equipped with an AMD Radeon HD installed 8350. I use two monitors, the g I have problems is a Hanns-G HE225D. The default monitor resolution is 1920 x 1080, high that I'm offered is 1600 x 1200, I use the option of 1600 x 900 right now but it is not good. I don't understand why Windows does not recognize my driver disc. When I run it says successful and complete. I had no problem with this monitor on the old XP system. I don't know which video card was in it. I am new to 7, can anyone can help me with this?

I thought about it. A Setup dual monitor had something to do with it. I tried to plug the monitor problem by itself and was able to accept the driver software of (Control Panel > display > Change display settings > advanced settings > monitor > properties > driver > Update Driver > Browse my computer > Have Disk...). I went back to installing duplicate, but with two monitors, it wouldn't show the correct aspect, in (Panel > display > change display settings > advanced settings > monitor > uncheck "Hide Modes that this monitor cannot display") he opened the range that allows me to choose the correct aspect. Even with the right driver installed, it still shows a generic non-pnp monitor, but it works.

  • How to prevent the opening evertime I start Firefox 29,0 DictionarySearch add-on

With this 29,0 update, whenever I run the FF application, the DictionarySearch add-on also opens and I don't want to see it.

Before 29,0, DictionarySearch did not open whenever I launched Firefox.

How to stop the add-on of DictionarySearch open a tab whenever I run Firefox (without uninstalling)?

    I see something!

I see that user.js is running on Firefox

The user.js file is present than if you or another software has created this file and normally it wouldn't be here.

You can delete a possible user.js file and numbered prefs-# .js files and rename (or delete) the file prefs.js to reset all the prefs by default, including the prefs set via user.js and pref which is no longer supported in the current version of Firefox. You can get the profile below:

    • Help > troubleshooting information > profile directory > see folder

    or

    • Go to Subject: support , and then click view the folder next to the profile directory.
