  I had to replace the hard drive in my desktop pc and now when trying to install XP Pro on the new drive, Windows Installer States he is not hard drives are.

  I contacted Seagate hdrive manufacturer and they said that my motherboard drivers need be updated so that windows would allow the hard disk drivers be installed from Cd.

  They said either communicate with the provider of the motherboard and ask drivers to a floppy, then buy and install a floppy drive on my pc all them in order to get Windows Installer on this new hard drive.  Another option was to buy a new operating system!

  Hoping someone here knows a reasonable solution to this.  My Win XP Pro version is 2002.  I create a copy of it and integrated SP3 with it and tried to start one, but still, it does not recognize the hard drive.  The hard disk appears in the BIOS.

  To transfer the license from one pc to another how to proceed is to 'Disable' the license first of the older machine.

  To accomplish this, you need to launch Acrobat, go to the 'Help' menu and select 'disable '.

  On the new machine, you can install Acrobat and then use the serial number to 'Turn on' the software and it will complete the transfer of license.

I see there is an upgrade option that comes up when I run the XP disk once it's been installed on my laptop. Thanks in advance for your help in my question.   Your best option is to ask a backup copy or to borrow the corresponding edition, you have a license from a friend. Ensure that it is a upgrade disk or any retail version is authentic.
