In Windows 8, Microsoft has removed the Media Player DVD playback. If you have WIndows 8 Pro, to play DVDs, you need to install the add-on library, which costs extra, but the aqdd - it is currently available for free.

In addition, a third-party DVD player must be installed.

  • How to enable the DVD library in WIndows 7 Media Center

How do you enable DVD library in Win 7 Media Center?  I tried editing the registry as in Vista, but it does not work with Win 7.  I am running Win 7 Pro 64-bit version.  Thank you

    Hi zt75,

Run you manually editing the registry?

Have you clicked on fix it from the link below? If this is not the case, click on fixit and check if that helps.

How can I enable the DVD library in Windows Media Center on a Windows Vista-based computer?
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/930526

(Although this article is for Windows Vista, we can always give it a shot in Windows 7.)

Or do these steps and check.

To enable the DVD library in Windows 7, follow these steps:

    1. If Windows Media Center is running, close it.
    2. click on start.
    3. in the search box, type regedit.
    4. in the list programs, click on regedit.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type your password, or click on continue.
    5. Locate and then click the following registry subkey:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Media Center\Settings\Video settings

    6. in the Details pane, right-click VideoGalleryView, and then click on edit.
7 remove the content that appear in the value data box.
    8. in the value data box, type Gallery, and then click OK. Registry value data: Gallery = Activate My DVD; Play = not to activate my DVD
    9. close the registry editor.

To verify that the automatic fix worked, restart your computer. You should now see "DVD library" from the menu. To add DVDs, go to the menu information (click on 'i' on the remote control) and select "Add Movies.

    Try this also:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Media Center\Start Menu

Check if it has a value of HideDVD, and if the value data is set to 1. If the data in the value of HideDVD is set to 1, then you have two options. One option would be to delete the HideDVD value. The other option would be to change the value from 1 to 0 data.
    6. close the registry editor.

  • How to recover the DVD drive after Windows XP Service Pack 1 upgrade on protected M200

I lost my DVD Multi writer after update WInXP SP1 on my M200 Tablet of protégé. Restarting ElbyCheck reported a conflict with v3.00189 drag ' n Drop. I chose (foolishly) to solve it.

The situation is pretty much as described in FAQ ref: TRO0000001bf9 (http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/faq.jsp?service=EU&FID=TRO0000001bf9

Is it possible to reinstall the drivers and get the DVD without having to completely restore the tablet at its factory image?

The good news is that the DVD works - it properly allows the Recovery DVD-Rom Toshiba to initialize. The DVD is mounted in the docking station for M200 Tablet and I don't think that there is another way to connect to the tablet.

Windows XP Device Manager reports a problem with the Mat * a DVD-Ram UJ-810 USB device: "Windows cannot load the driver for this hardware device. "The driver is maybe corrupted or missing (code 39). However, uninstall or reinstall drivers does not help because Windows XP shows that the current drivers are installed. With SP1, there is also no earlier driver to roll-back to...

Is there a way to get the right drivers reloaded?

    Any help is very appreciated!

    Hello

Unfortunately, it is not possible on our part. But you can check with the third party software.

Note: Using third-party software, including hardware drivers can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the use of third-party software can be solved. Software using third party is at your own risk.
