How to reboot can I configure Firefox to re - automatically load the tabs I had open when I stopped?
Every morning when I do a soft start to clear the cobwebs out of my brain of the PC I have my boot settings automatically load 6 apps. Firefox is a. Then I go on a toolbar start tab and click Open all tabs and it loads 4 tabs for me.
I am trying to automate the loading of the tabs
I use Firefox 4.0. The previous version was a function that was asked, when you closed Firefox, if you wanted the tabs you have open at that time to arrange the next time you open Firefox.
It's kind of way to jack-leg to get the tabs open on the re-start, although it was still irritation...
This issue does not seem has happened in 4.0.
Is there a setting to always call the question?
Better yet, is there a setting to always have the tabs / a group of tabs always open at startup?
Example-in my case I load Vonage Sharefile, then 2 home page tabs.
This allows me to keep my poor brain organized during the day because I'm multitasking in Firefox and other applications, and telephone and other.
I thank in advance.

One of the changes in Firefox 4: by default Firefox 4 does not display the warning "Save tabs and exit" then to the closure of several tabs, but it can be turned on again by changing some preferences.
- Record of the tabs was not removed from Firefox 4, but it works a little differently.
- By default, Firefox 4 will not ask to save tabs, but instead it will always save your tabs in the output. You can restore the next time by selecting "Restore previous Session" in the history menu, or by pressing the button restore Firefox's default homepage.
- Note: This was a decision by the developers. On this forum, we are all volunteers without compensation here to help other users. Develop them and employees of Mozilla/Firefox rarely, if ever visit here.
Also, make sure that you do not erase "Browsing history" when you use clear recent history:
To display the message "save tabs and exit" when closing multiple tabs, you can do the following:
- Type of topic: config in the URL/address bar and press the Enter key
- Accept the warning message (promise to be careful)
- Open the preferences/list page
- Filter = browser.tabs.warnOnClose
- If its value is set to false, double-click top (in the lower panel) to toggle its value to true
- Repeat steps 4 and 5 for the 3 following preferences also:
- browser.warnOnQuit
- browser.warnOnRestart
- browser.showQuitWarning
- Note: last pref is new in Firefox 4 b 12, may need to add (boolean)

If you use delete navigation, search and download history on Firefox in Firefox 3.5/6, or clear private data in Firefox 3 to clear the browsing history when Firefox is closed then in restaurant tabs at the last session (for example "save and exit" or "show my windows and tabs from last time ') does not work.

Firefox 42.0 automatically load a tab 'option' as if a Web site is selected. How can I fix it? I can't find any navigation to prevent that from happening. This started when "ask.com" hijacked my browser. I can now load my selected home page, but can not get the tab 'option' to appear automatically as well as my other sites selected in the tabs above. Thank you.
Firefox uses a vertical bar ("|") in order to separate several home pages.
You can check the setting of the home page to see if the subject: preferences page is included among the home pages (| subject: preferences #general). This can happen if you click on "use current page (s) ' to set the home page and about: preferences is open in a tab.
You can pin the tab with the subject: the preferences page through the context menu of the tab to avoid including: preferences for layout home page if you want to use this button in "Options/Preferences > general".
To set a page as the home page, you can drag the globe/lock for the home button. -
How can I configure downloads to save automatically instead of asking me to open?
Recently I reset Firefox. Front whenever I downloaded a file, it automatically asked me if I wanted to open the file or save it to my computer, with save on my computer preselected. It was good because I almost never want these downloads automatically opens, and I love all my downloads to go into my file to download on a disc with a lot more space (not the temp on C:\ folder). The option "do this automatically for files like this in the future" has been useful for the type of rare file I want to open automatically (usually because it is a very small music or something).
Now, every time I download any type of file, the guest comes back with 'open the file' pre-selected, and "do this automatically for files like this in the future" grayed out. So, on more than one occasion, I clicked ok wrong and opened huge files automatically after downloading (which resulted in their burst open same hours later and play automatically once the download is complete). I would like to be able to select 'Save to my computer' and do it automatically, but this option is grayed out.
Available aid seems to suggest go to options > Applications and modify the action to the appropriate content type, but:
(a) not all content types that I download are listed, i.e. .mov, .mpeg, .rar, etc..
(b) change the action of the content types I (.wmv and compressed/zipped folder only) absolutely did nothing.I'm always invited for each file download, always preselected to open the file with the 'do this automatically for files like this in the future' always grayed out.
I would like to change the way I had before, or at least automatically together all downloads to save in my download folder.
Could you try copying your old file (the one in the old data of Firefox) mimeTypes.rdf file in your profile folder? You can quickly open the folder of your profile again by using:
Help > troubleshooting information > "view file" button.
As for the prefs.js comparison, I would look old preferences with or another of those words in the name: download or helperApps.

Often, I have six or seven centers open their doors at a time when I am browsing. When I 'x' on Firefox now, they aren't there when I log in again. I want to be there, so I don't have to find them whenever I log in.
Type of topic: preferences #general< enter > in the address bar.
There are two settings;
- At the start of Firefox
When the browser is started, what you want
view. Many of us choose view my homepage.Note: You want to choose "tabs from last time '.
- Homepage
When a new page opens up, what do you want displayed.
- Use current Page. Use the pages that are never open at this time.
- Use the bookmark
- Restore by default. topic: Home shows a home page of Mozilla with tools.
You can use one of these as you want;
topic: Home (Default Firefox homepage),
on: newtab (displays the more visited sites),
Subject: vacuum (a blank page),or you can enter any web page or Subject: page you want.

Firefox 8.01 - whenever I starts, it loads automatically the "Getting started with Mozilla...» "the my home page Tab. How can't we open the tab "Getting started...". » ?
Hi ricklord303,
You should take a look at the Knowledge Base How to set the home pagearticle.
There are the steps in this article to reset your preferences on the default home page. I would try everything first to clear all strangeness. If it works, you can try to set your homepage again to your personal preferences.
If this does not work you should look at this article on this specific issue and Preferences not savedarticle.
Hope this helps!

How can I import Firefox bookmarks, now stored in the folder of the user on the same PC (new), in Firefox? I exported my old PC Firefox bookmarks in a folder [Windows 8] on my new PC.
When I use the ease of importing from Firefox, it will only import a bookmark at a time - and then it inserts the bookmarks all the main pages on the site marked with a bookmark, not just the one I initially put bookmark. Also, it does not matter the information stored in the bookmark tag.Sure thing.

I work with files in a folder tree. I want to browse this folder hierarchy, just as I did in the original copy of Windows Explorer in Windows XP. I want to use the arrow keys to navigate up and down, and when I'm in a folder and click the previous button, I want it to go up one level in the folder hierarchy, just like he used to.
Now, when I hit the 'back' button, Windows Explorer behaves as a browserand goes to the last folder that I have read.
It's so frustrating! She interrupts my thought process and the movement of my work. If I wanted to use a browser, I use Internet Explorer.
How Windows Explorer can be configured to browse the folder hierarchy instead of behaving like a browser? Remember the "unwebified" of Windows XP Windows Explorer version? This is what I want so I can get back to work effectively.
Windows Explorer 7 does not have the up button like XP, however, in the address bar you can select the folder in the hierarchy (sometimes called the trail of bread crumbs) to return.
Windows 8 added the arrow pointing upwards.
