You can go in Panel, programs and features and functionality in Windows

Media Player. As indicated, you will not be able to remove the bits that are
    part of the operating system.

  • How to get rid of the Windows Media Center Nag screen?

I do not expect to use Windows Media center. Well, I don't really understand what it is, honestly. But I get the screen of horse to 'watching TV' on my computer. It's the last thing I want to do with my computer.

How can I get rid of the nag screen that keeps popping up?

    Thank you very much

    Jack

    Hello

I suggest you try these methods and check the status of the issue.

    Method 1:

    Rebuild the Media Centre.

Your index requires virtually no maintenance. However, if the index looking for files that you know problems must be in a location indexed; You may have to re-create the index. This can take a long time to complete, so avoid this step unless you have given the index enough time (several hours) to correct the problems first. To rebuild the index:

    1. open indexing and search by clicking the Start button Options, click on the Control Panel, clicking system and Maintenance, and then clicking Indexing Options.

    2. click on Advanced Options, click the index settings tab and then click on rebuild.

If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

    Method 2:

Enable and disable the Media Center to enable Windows features turn on or off.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/turn-Windows-features-on-or-off

    a. open them turn Windows features on or OFF.

    b. Locate and expand multimedia features.

    c. clear the check box for Windows media Center to turn off. (Check the Windows media Center to turn on)

Note: Restart the computer after you enable and disable the media Center.

  • How to configure keyboard shortcuts in Windows Media Center?

    Hi all

I do know that if this is possible, I wanted to be able to change the keyboard shortcuts used in Windows Media Center.
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-AU/Windows-Vista/Windows-Media-Center-keyboard-shortcuts
For example, to use the "ESC" key to "Go back to the previous screen" (currently 'return BACK').

I could not find how to do this on the forum. The reasoning behind it, is that I use my cell phone as a Bluetooth remote, and current controls, I, has a 'ESC' key, but none touch "BACK".

    Thanks in advance,
    Nick

  • Windows Media Center showing no TV signal

When I go into WMC I select a television channel of the electronic Program Guide and WMC is back with a message:

No TV Signal: There is currently no signal detected for this channel TV. The channel can be temporarily off the air, or you need to maybe adjust or reconnect your TV antenna.

Here is a summary indicating the State of the map CableCard.

    Status of CableCARD

    The card manufacturer: Motorola
    Authentication of maps: success
    Activation of the card: success
    3DES encryption: support
    OOB frequency: 75,250 MHz
    OOB Lock: 2,048 Mbit/s
    Signal strength: 100% (2.1 dBmV)
The quality of the signal: 100% (41.7 dB)
    Channel list: cablecard-oob

When I go to HDomeRunSetup and try to do a scan of the CableCard card for all three tuners it again relates that the device/card is not the list of channels. I checked the cable connection and LED a green identity card.

Where should I go from here?

    Hello

    • You did it all changes before the show?
    • What version of Windows are you using?

    c. check the difference.

    b. install the update just for your device and restart the computer.

  • Windows Media Center showing the gray screen (no picture but sound OK)

Hi everyone, I had a problem with Windows Media Center for several weeks now: when I try to watch television, either recorded or live (from my tuner), WMC shows a square white gray but audio works fine. Trying to open the .wtv files in WMP has similar problems - presenting a black screen but with complete audio. Other files video (I tried .avi and .wmv) still work correctly. WMC was playing TV files without a problem until one day, it just stopped working. There wasn't that no updates not installed that startup and the system has been installed costs less than a week before the problem started.

After spending a whole week looking for solutions online, there seem to be many people who have had this problem, but all have been fixed by different methods, and none of them seem to work here. I will list what I tried: installation and reinstallation of different codec packs, reinstall the WMC, uninstall and then reinstall all the Turners and the graphics drivers, setting the parameters within the WMC, graphics cards settings adjustment. I also tried to make a 'fresh' start (no extra service, just basic Microsoft services) to try and see if a particular service is causing the problem, but even in these conditions, the problem persists.

I hope someone can help, if you need more information, let me know.
