How to recover the database when archive some of the log file are deleted.

I am facing a problem with the Oracle database, which is linked to archivelogs.
Our development database is running in archivelog mode, but we don't have safeguards and have no recovery catalog.
When the database was in running, disk got full, so some archivelogs were deleted manually.
After that they have restarted the DB, and DB now not come. The errors are as follows:

1 how to recover the database and put online

Any help will be much appreciated.

Hello

It is actually quite easy.
We knew that Oracle was looking for logsequence 1107. There is no archived log, it was deleted, or it has never generated. As you delete files, the 1st solution would be possible, BUT as there was only an instance crash so more old archived logs is not required for crash recovery. There is a need during the restoration of the old backup files, which is not our case.

Thus, the missing log sequence has not been archived = > it is a redo log.
To identify the required online redo log, we just to log query v$ as I suggest.

Once the log identified file, we can recover it by specifying the redo log when you ask logsequence 1107.

And it is on. We win! :)

  • the log files are not purged

    Hi all

    I have a data store of TT, with layout LogPurge = 1. There are a lot of transactions, manipulating the data store. If I'm not mistaken, the log files, which are older, then the old checkpoint file is deleted automatically by TT, is there is no operation holding them. In my case, the log files are not deleted, so the ls - ltr command prints:

    As you can see, I have 67 log files older than the old checkpoint file. Now, if I enter the DS in ttIsql and call ttLogHolds I get:
    Command > call ttLogHolds();

    What can be the problem?

    Thanks in advance:

    This bookmark

    < 0,="" 38034792,="" replication="" ,="" appdbtt:_oracle="">

    indicates that the bookmark AWT has not moved since 0 log file. Since the AWT is performed by the replication agent, it retains a bookmark to follow where its has reached in reading through files looking for operations against any cachegroups AWT transaction logs. It seems that somehow an operation against a cachegroup AWT was not committed, which means that he cannot be sent to Oracle, recognized and settled the bookmark. Once the bookmark moves into a new transaction log file, all the old log files can then be purged.

    You might be able to identify any transaction cease using ttXactAdmin and looking for the locks held against AWT cachegroups.

    All,

    I need to recover the data file 2, which is for the undo tablespace and it is in the State to recover and I need to recover the data files now.

    But the bad news is we have no backup at all and we have no archive logs (log archiving is disabled in the database)...

    In this case how can I recover the data file...?

    Hello

    First, you must open a ticket with oracle Support and explore the options

    You can use this note to fix:
    RECOVERY OF A LOST IN A [ID 1013221.6] UNDO TABLESPACE DATA FILE

    If you are unable to drop Undo tablespace as Undo Segment recovery must

    You can download the trace file following the opening of the ticket

    SQL>Alter session set tracefile_identifier='corrupt';

    SQL>Alter system dump undo header "";

    Go to udump

    ls -lrt *corrupt*

    Upload this trace file

    Also upload the alert log file

  • How to recover the original file names?

    Hello! Please help me.

    Accidentally, I changed the names of the videos that I used for Adobe Premiere. So now, every time I open the folder Adobe Premiere, videos are missing and replaced with a red screen "media disconnected". Is there any way I can recover the original file names without having to do it manually one by one?

    I tried to go back to a restore point, but it does not work. I can't locate too because I don't remember which video is which.

    I already edited almost 50 videos in this project it would take me a loooot of time to start all over again. :((

    Hope you can help me.

    If I understand you correctly, you changed the name of the file in Windows and can't remember what used to be file names. You have modified these in Premiere Pro, and now the project files, that you created do not know where to find the video files.

    Is this correct?

    If so, I may have a simple solution for you.

    Assuming that you're not maxing out every file so that they are all exactly the same length, the number of minutes and seconds and images should get you where you want to go. Almost as unique as a fingerprint on my PC, but I never capture a bunch of videos which are identical in time - although it is possible to do, I guess.

    Open a project file. Checking the properties of each file should reveal the name of file theoriginal and duration, which is also available directly on the thumbnail image (see image below).  Open the media browser, then look at the times on each clip. This should be enough to help you either republish or change the Windows name to what it was originally. It's always one at a time, but it shouldn't take too long. A pen and paper could help 50 videos.

  • How to minimize the log files in CS?

    Hi all

    We have the database logs, archive logs and logs the content server that is stored on the disk. Y at - there any configuration setting that we can do to minimize the number of files that can be stored.

    Also, is there a configuration that allows you to set different absolute paths for these logs files? As well as the folder / space management becomes easier.

    Hello Mohan,

    These are the configuration variables that control the size of the log file, the directory and the number of newspapers to keep:

    TraceDirectory entered configuration defines which directory you want the tracking logs files to write to.

    TraceDirectory =

    The configuration entry TraceFileSizeLimit sets the size of each log file.  The default value for this setting is 1048576, which is equivalent to 1 megabyte.

    TraceFileSizeLimit = 10000000

    The configuration entry TraceFileCountLimit sets the number of log files that are in the rotation.  The default value for this parameter is 10.

    TraceFileCountLimit =

    Events tracing output can be controlled with a setting similar to the use of a single for the track directory.

    EventDirectory =

    Thank you

    Srinath

    Hello

    Even if you add standby or online redo log files or even if you resize down and re-create redo log files, they will not be created on the standby database. It is instance specific.

    Let all the restore, the MRP will cancel out.
    And then let fall, add standby redo log files, I think that you need to the MANUAL upgrade standby_file_management before adding new files of newspapers waiting for redo. And do not forget to undo file management the AUTO value again after the execution of the changes.

    And you train to make the journal command pending, it applies only on the primaries because the log command can only be performed on the database that uses online redo log files. Even if you open databases Eve with recovery that no recovery will be generated as a result no switch journal is allowed too.

    Enable you the creation of backup in the preferences? If so, you should find

    My question is why my 30 to 66 sequence archivelog file are not saved with the database in v$ archived_log and how to solve this problem.

    Thank you
    Umesh

    You may need to increase the CONTROL_FILE_RECORD_KEEP_TIME value.

    If the archivelogs are still on the disk, you can try to catalog them with:

    RMAN> catalog start with '/home/oracle/DataBaseBackups/ArchiveDest/;

    or if you don't need the file you can simply remove the o/s and run the following:

    RMAN> crosscheck archivelog all;
    RMAN> delete expired archivelog all;

  • Unable to connect to the database because the log file is deleted

    Greetings,
    Recently I cleaned a bit unnecessary files on my PC and did not know that an oracle log file has been deleted. That's why when I try to connect to the database I get the following error:

    ORA-01033: ORACLE initialization or shutting

    Plu SQL, I try closing and start up the database I know what type of file that has been deleted. So, how can I solve the problem?

    Kind regards

    You must enable ARCHIVELOG mode and use the backup provided to make (or calendar) Script backups of a database of the XE.

    As you have not a
    Directory 'C:\ORACLEXE\APP\ORACLE\FLASH_RECOVERY_AREA\XE', you can check to see if the backup was created here!

  • How to analyze the log file which generates the SFC.exe?

    I did a scan as administrator using the Cmd prompt using "sfc/scannow" I followed the instructions in the reference article and typed: findstr/c: "[SR]" %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log > sfcdetails.txt. But I don't have anything to open the enered just prompt cmd a new line. When I look for the 'findstr/c:"[SR]" %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log > sfcdetails.txt: "file I find on my computer, but it used to be open." How can I open this newspaper?

    You have a sfcdetails.txt file?

    You may need to show hidden files. Type the Folder Options in the search box above the Start button and select view advanced settings and check that the box "display files and folders" and 'Hide protected operating system files' are not checked. You may need to scroll down to see the second element. You should also make sure that the box before "Hide extensions of known file types" is not checked.

    If so can you post a copy on your disk from the sky like a shared file?

  • How to open the log file after you have used the file system Checker

    I used the System File Checker.  It finds corrupted files, but I can't open the details of sfc with the path used in the system file checker topic 929833

    Ron

    If you don't mind, run a sfc/scannow again. When it of done, don't post the cmd window.

    In the same window of cmd, copy / paste the command line, I gave you, then press ENTER.

  • How to view the log file of Disk Defragmenter?

    After I run disk defragmentation, I can't find a recording that said it was over. How will I know if the defragmentation has been completed or a record that it has been completed?

    Hello

    In addition, the following command will run the defragmentation and create the requested such appropriate log file.

    "C:\Windows\Syste32\Defrag.exe c: /V>c:\log.log."

    You can specify another argument if you want that the logfile to be placed in a different location.  I hope that this information is beneficial.

  • How to see the log files in IDS 4215

    Hi all

    I have an IDS 4215, I want to check the Logs of the system for this ID, as Interface something like that.

    Thanks in advance.

    All system messages, including signature events are all 'show' commands.

    Enter the command show event displays only events in real time. If you want ot, past events, you need to add a time to the command option; show events past 20:00
