  Passwords and user names are usually stored in a database on your server. The database would be accessible from cpanel IF you have the user name and password to get into that. I would look here first to see if you can see a table in the database relating to the 'users' or something similar. Probably you need to insert a new user name and password as password must be encrypted, it will not be much good to you.
