How to remove a specific restore point in Vista

I want to delete the restore individual (s) point. How can I do?

I know that I can delete all old restore points and keeping the last but, I want to remove unnecessary points in the middle in order to not consume the space allocated to the restore points.

Thank you very much

HD

I'm sorry but this is not possible. As you point out, you can remove all but the last restore Point, or you can remove all the and start over. It is important to remember that the restoration of the system is not a substitute for backup. A better solution for most people is to buy an external hard drive and a program like Acronis True Image imagery. TI can make images and incremental backups. Your healthy regular imaging system gives you the ability to restore to the State in a very few minutes, on the same hard disk or on another.

You can also reduce the amount of space used for the restoration of the system.

Your question is a bit broad, so it is difficult to give you details.

First of all, you must have the ID of the original message. Usually, you get either by hanging the message when he came into the Inbox (by implementing FolderListener), or by retrieving a list of mail of enamel "Store".

Once you have this message ID, you call Folder.deleteMessage ().

    Hello

What is the exact error message received when the problem occurs?

    Methood 1:

Auditor of file system (CFS) scan to fix all of the corrupted system files. To do this, follow the steps in the following link:

How to use the System File Checker tool to fix the system files missing or corrupted on Windows Vista or Windows 7

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929833

    Method 2:

You can start Windows Vista by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

I suggest to put the computer in a clean boot state, and check if the problem persists, see the link:
How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135
Note: See step 7; Reset the computer to start as usual after troubleshooting is performed.

    Method 3:

You can temporarily disable the security software and check if the problem occurs. Check out the following link to do the same thing:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-GB/Windows-Vista/disable-antivirus-software

Warning: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

  • Why keep away my restore points for vista Home premium?

I read recently on TechRepublic on Vista Restore devours all the disk space if not configured correctly. I used vssadmin list shadowstorage to see my restore points there is not! I did a manual restore yesterday point and repeat the command vssadmin, it appeared and everything looked good.  I went today to see if the restoration has created another point of restoration, as it is supposed to do on a daily basis, made the shadowstorage command, no restore points, including the one I did yesterday!
I am running Vista Home Premium, SP1 32 Bit on an Acer Aspire 6920 G computer laptop with Intel Core 2 Duo T5550 1.83 GHz, 667 MHz FSB, 2MB L2 Cache, 3 GB of Ram and a 320 GB hard drive with a partition C: and D:, 104 GB left of 140 GB on D: and C:, so disk space is not a problem the latter being of full backups mobile operating system and storage, NVIDIA GEFORCE 9500 M. For security I run McAfee Security Center, as well as Spybot S & D operation resident Teatimer. Not a dual-boot machine. I checked that the C: drive is selected for restore points, and it is. Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Hello

Absolutely, I think, that's why I mentioned. Tried to get others who suggest Spybot
for Vista and especially IE8 to tell people to stop the SBSD service and do not use TeaTimer.

Good idea to stop the SBSD Service - value STOPPED and MANUAL, you can use SpyBot as
    as scan if needed.

I deleted programs as much as I can and cookies. I am trying to remove the store home Tools toolbar. I followed the instructions to remove in the menu 'Start' and 'Add or remove programs ". the shop at home program was not there. Please tell me what to do or not do.

    Shop at home

#1 - ADDED EDIT: I just found the reference to the toolbar ShopAtHome, also named "Toolbar of Shopping smart"; that search in Control Panel > Add / Remove programs and then click on to remove/uninstall. Make sure Firefox is closed prior to the abduction, if it is there

EDIT #2 - ADDED: I saw where there may be a file named SelectRebatesUninstall.exe on your computer in the location c:\program files\SelectRebates\. If you find, click/double click on the file and let me know the results.

Have you looked into C:\Program Files for one or more folders named shop at home and/or select refunds and/or the Smart Shopping toolbar? If one (or both) are / are there, close Firefox (Firefox button > exit OR File > Exit), open the folder and look for a file named uninstall.exeand click/double click on this file uninstall.exe .
