How to remove duplicated home group (network) name ie. NetName netname 1, netnam2, netnam3

INAME my cradlepoint router network wireless netname then my homegroup is associated with that name.  for some reason, I leave the homegroup.  router is always named netname and homegroup is named netname1 and so on and so forth.  How to remove names of group residential previous thos.  I was there once and that you can not find the way back.  Thank you

Try to go to control panel > network and Internet > network and sharing Center and then click the icon in the form of House directly below the words 'Show your active networks' - Note that you must click on the icon, not the name of the blue network.  Which will make appear a "Set network properties" dialog box and includes a "merger or clear location network 'choice left."  Maybe it's one of the things most well hidden in Windows 7!

    Setting up a shared printer

"The most common way to make a printer available to a home network is traditionally to connect to one of the computers and then tell Windows to share it. This is called a shared printer.

The advantage of sharing a printer is that it works with any USB printer. Side tilted? The host computer must always be fed up, otherwise the rest of the network will not be able to access the shared printer. »

  • Remove the old cable network name machine Vista

I have 4 computers on a home network (2 portable wireless, Windows 7 and Vista) and 2 desktops (also Windows 7-Vista) to Windows 7 computers, replacing Vista computers in the near future.  Until them, I always use the four computers.

I had a LOT of problems (unable to access printers and printers go offline) sharing printer and recently started having "Windows cannot access \\theWindows7newdesktopcomputer", those with printers attached - and I could / can not find a solution for this.  In desperation, I have reset the Linksys router e2500 manufactured back State initial and in the process gained a new network name (do not change).

My problem is that the old Vista computer wired to the router insists on the use of the old network name (the one that appears on the screen of the network and sharing Center).  The funny thing is that I put on Jack autour with him (nothing has changed on the router) I have now access to the Internet on the old Vista computer wired to the router, even if she seems to be using the former name of network.  So, how can I get the Vista computer to recognize the new network name and quit using the former name of network.  I spent all day on this problem and I am not farther than I was when I started working on the problem of this morning on the printer share.  I guess that the router works because these two computers are connected to the router, but it doesn't look good for me and it seems that it must be something I can change or correct.

    Ron in round rock

Try to remove from the network and sharing Center by clicking on the Home icon next to network name and go to mergere or delete network locations. I guess you know what to do after that.

If it is used, then unplug your ethernet cable and try again.

  • How to remove a smart group in mail

I recently bought a new iMac with El Capitan installed on it.  Recently for some reasonI have seen almost all of my emails from email box.  When I checked my contacts for mail, I saw that this name has been listed as a smart group.  How can I remove the smart group?  I don't want to use this feature.

It is not "go to" a smart mailbox. A smart mailbox is a quest that displays all the message that match the search criteria. It does not record messages and no messages are moved in. However, all of the messages you will find are real and exist in other places. What you do with a message in a box smart mailbox will affect the original message.

You can delete only one like any other box.  Select it and use the command remove the mailbox in the mailbox menu or in the menu contextual (right-click).

  • Other computers/devices in my home group / network is unable to identify my computer

I don't think that changes have been made, but all of a sudden my scanner and another computer on my cable network do not recognize my computer. Any suggestions?

    -Mike

    Hello

    1. are you able to see the scanner and your computer from other computers on the home group?
    2. what version of Windows are you using?
    3. which antivirus app do you use?
Method 2: You can also check by keeping the computer in the boot and disabling antivirus.
    Step 1:
How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135
Note: Please go to step 7 of the Kb to maintain the computer to a normal startup after you fix the problem.

    Step 2:
You can check if any third-party security software is causing issues. I suggest that you have temporarily disable or uninstall the security software installed and check if the problem is resolved.
Note: If you temporarily disable or uninstall all security software for troubleshooting so remember to allow him, after the resolution of the problems to end because your computer will be at risk.
  • Home Group network.

I just purcashed a HP all-in-one with Windows 7 Premium.  Can I install the network home group without upgrading Windows.

rongould6373 wrote: I just purcashed a HP all-in-one with Windows 7 Premium.  Can I install the network home group without upgrading Windows.

Hello rongould6373, you should be able to set up a home network, but you would need to have at least two computers connected to a network or a network router.

I do not use the host network, but a working network. This seems to work better for me.

The network name must be the same on all systems on the network. You must also open the network and sharing to set up the network and share systems to connect to the other (s).

  • Photosmart 6515 - how to remove old computer in network list on the screen of the printer? Thank you!

Bought a new laptop to Windows 8.  Software problem so had to 'recover' back to the original configuration.  When I setup, I have assigned different "computer name" to it.  Now my printer HP 6515 is still ad old computer as the connection name.  How delete/erase this old name?  Thank you!

    Hey,.

I want to assure you that I understand the problem you are experiencing.  You bought a new laptop from Windows 8, but had a technical problem.  When you restored the PC you have created a name different from the PC to the laptop.

«Now my printer HP 6515 is still ad old computer as a connection name.»

This quote is the part where I'm a bit confused.  For starters, it is a Photosmart HP 6515?  And when you say it is listed as a connection, what do you mean?  Do you mean that the old name of PC is still on the menu of the computer analysis?  Or do you mean that the SSID (network name) of your router is the same as the name you had this laptop originally named?  If the second is the proper case, then the SSID of your router is separated from your PC and is possible that the 2 simply shared the same name at some point.

I would like to know a little more detail on where this name is seen and what you mean so I can better tell you your problem.

  • personal computer not belongs to a workgroup or residential so how I remove workgroup and group home group

in the system information page, the description of the computer shows workgroup: Group WORK, but my PC does ' t belong to any working group & homegroup, because he simple pc, connect to the internet, not to any other computer. so I think that it is not useful to stay active the OPTION group of WORK & HOMEGROUP specifically to the WORKING group. Help, please.

    Hello sunilnishad111,

It would show only the name of the working group that would have previously connected to you. The name appears in the properties of the computer does not mean that you are connected to a workgroup. You can even change the name of the working group just to confirm that the computer is removed from the working group.

  • Windows 8 - home group network is not possible

    A whole new problem now!

Execution of two laptops using Win 7 and Win 8, nine only 10 days.
Had it all set up and seemed OK, but after 4 days I started to lose emails & couldn't find them anywhere.

Today, the residential group doesn't work - the two machines cannot see each other and the router & printer is found on the new machine.

As the router is not here I can't access the internet or e-mail.
I tried to move the home page settings via the Control Panel, but I get a message "homegroup is currently sharing of libraries on this computer.

Homegroup is not available until the sharing is complete"is on the screen for 3.5 hours and I am unable to do anything at all with the homegroup settings.

    Can someone help me please?

    Hello

I think that you must make sure that you ve enabled the + network discovery + on all computers.

Network discovery is a network setting that determines if your computer can find other computers and devices on the network and whether other computers on the network can see your computer.
By default, Windows Firewall blocks network discovery, but you can activate it.

Here's how a nice HowTo from Microsoft to the + enable or disable network discovery.

and here you can find beautiful video + how to create a homegroup.
