How to remove or disable the automatic TAB?

Since recently loading FF 9.0.1 a tab is open whenever I open an internet window. I would like to disable this feature so that the tabs are opened only when I choose so.

You can check the startup parameter:

  • Tools > Options > general > startup: 'When Firefox starts': 'Show my home page' "show a blank page.

You can not. However, I'm not sure why you think it's a privacy or security threat. The only thing that can be accessed without unlocking the phone is the camera to take pictures. No one can access your data already on the phone.

  • How do I completely disable the automatic encryption of files on XP

I have Windows XP SP3 and I download all of the files are automatically encrypted any directory I save the download in. It is not that simple that disabling the encryption of any specific directory, the file will be downloaded as encrypted regardless of whether the directory is encrypted or not.

I think that there is a group policy or other parameter which not only puts everything in My Documents to encrypted, but also everything I download, no matter where it is downloaded. It didn't matter whether the folder is encrypted, or even on my C: drive: a downloaded file is always encrypted. It is a problem if I want to move the file to another computer.

Is there a policy or a setting somewhere to turn off the automatic encryption of the registry?

    Additional information:

In my registry, I found the following keys:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Cryptography\AutoEnrollment

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Cryptography\AutoEnrollment

    And many other key under

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Cryptography

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Cryptography\CertificateTemplateCache

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\EFS\CurrentKeys

There is no button on EFS in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion

There is no policy defined in Group Policy (gpedit.msc)

Computer Configuration / Windows Settings / Security Settings / public key policies / EFS file system

The Microsoft KB article in the "More information" section describes an EFSConfiguration setting that, when the '1' value, disables EFS of the registry.

  • How to remove or disable the "Use default" button in preferences.

I went through and set up my own configuration file, and everything is fine, except that we want to remove the ability for users to accidentally click the "Use default" option in the Preferences menu. Alternatively, I would hope that this has also removed the box to ask if firefox should be the default value.

I put it do not ask, but we do not want users to click on this box if we have the ability to remove the "Use default" button.

Doesn't seem to be something that I can put it in the registry, but if there is an entry in registry to remove or gray on this button, that would be also worked for me.

You use a mozilla.cfg file to define the default values or do this with a file in the profile folder?

You can lock a specific pref via the mozilla.cfg wire to make it impossible for users to change the pref that is related to this setting.

  • How to remove or disable the icon/thumbnail that floats above the pointer when you drag a file or folder in Explorer

When you do a drag-and - d├⌐poser in Solution Explorer, a very large icon/thumbnail floats just above the needle during the drag and a message "Move to .  The icon corresponding to the type of content of the file or the moved folder.

Unfortunately, it is difficult to see the destination of drag.  Really annoying.  The message "move to...". "or" copy to... ". "relatively small is fine.

So the question is, how to reduce the size (preferably 0) or to increase transparency (preference to 100%) or gift away with just the icon/thumbnail altogether?

    Hello

Unfortunately, this is an of the by design of Windows Explorer functions. There is no way to solve this problem I know.

You might want to consider simply cut and paste them instead.

    I hope this helps.

Thank you for using Windows 7

  • How to disable the App tabs (tablets should) start automatically?

How to disable the App tabs (tablets should) start automatically?

because the option [don't load the tabs up to choosing] dose does not work with her, and she keeps starts every time when I restart Firefox.

    Please help me!

Don't bother, I arrived at the solution of my car, you can do the following:

Type "subject: config" [without quotes!] in the location Bar (address bar) and press ENTER to display the list of preferences, as shown in the photo #1 in Firefox 17 under Windows 7.

If you see a page with the warning as pictured #2, this might void your warranty!, click the "I'll be careful, I promise!" button to continue (in fact, there is no guarantee that it is, it's more a joke to ensure that users are aware of what they are about to do). Uncheck the box to avoid the warning in the future.

Now to the search bar in the image #3 type: tab and search for it

    preference name:

    Browser.sessionstore.restore_pinned_tabs_on_demand

or you can copy directly to the search bar.
Then, follow the instructions in the photo n ° 3 .

Just in case where if the photo appears, follow these steps:

First: Right-click on the name of the preference that we sought.
Then, click Toggle to change the value from false to true.
Or, double-click it and it will change.
Finally, restart Firefox, and you'll notice that they don't automatically load until you click on it.

That's it, good luck to all. ;-)

Note: the list of fonts preferences fat is the user changed, and the United Nations-fat is the default setting.

Warning: change preferences can, in rare circumstances, break Firefox, Thunderbird or Mozilla Suite, or cause strange behavior. Only do if you know what you're doing or trustworthy tips.

    Additional INFORMATION:

Subject: config is a feature of Mozilla applications which lists application settings (known as preferences) that are read from the profile files prefs.js and user.js and the default application. A lot of these preferences are not present in the preferences or Options dialog box. Using about: config is one of the many methods of changing the preferences and adding the other 'hidden '.

  • How can I disable the automatic IP Configuration in Windows 7?

Is someone can you please tell me how to disable the automatic IP Configuration in Windows 7?  I am happy to change the registry to implement if necessary.

    Why?

Because my PC sometimes gives an IP address like 169.254.0.1.  This is because Windows has detected that your computer is connected to a network, but the PC has not yet given an IP address by DHCP on the network, so Windows Server the automatic IP Configuration comes in and gives the PC an IP address that starts with 16.254.

The reason why that the DHCP server on the network has not given an IP address was because the network is coming a few seconds before the DHCP server comes up, and the automatic IP Configuration Windows comes too quickly.

Of course, once the PC has an IP starting 169.254, he cannot communicate with my router that has an IP address that starts with 192.168.  The only cure, outside re-booting, is to issue the ipconfig/renew command to obtain an IP address from the router DHCP server.

If I can turn off the automatic IP Configuration of Windows (I could disable in XP) then I can avoid this error.

    One option that you have.

You can set the IP address to a static IP address.

    Reach:
    Beginning
    Control Panel
    Network and Internet
    Network and sharing Center

Click on connection to the Local network (a separate dialog box opens Local Area Connectin status)
Click on Properties (opens the dialog)
Click on Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)
    Click on Properties

On the general tab, move the radio button to use the following IP address:
Here you can set the IP address that you want to use the machine.

    Example of Configuration:
    192.168.0.254
    255.255.255.0
    192.168.0.1

You will need to note the IP DNS addresses you need more.
If you like you can even use a set of public DNS servers for free. http://www.online-tech-tips.com/cool-websites/free-DNS-server/

Please note that the sample configuration assumes routers IP is 192.168.0.1, check please. :)

    Good luck

  • How can I get rid of the automatic tab? Have NEVER used this feature and don't like it because it reduces the size of the window.

To remove the automatic tab of firefox 23

    Hello

In Firefox 23, as part of an effort to simplify the firefox options define and protect users against unintentially damage their Firefox, the option to hide the tab bar has been removed.

Fortunately, this can easily be solved if you want the tabs to keep hidden. You can install "hide the tab with a tab bar", an extension hosted on the site of Mozilla Add - ons, which will restore the ability to hide the tab bar.

Thank you and I hope this helps!

You can set the pref to 1 browser.tabs.maxOpenBeforeWarn on the topic: config page in order to get a warning in such cases (works with one click setting on a folder).

You can add this code in the file userChrome.css below default @namespace.

Customization files (interface) userChrome.css and userContent.css (Web sites) are located in the chrome folder in the user profile folder.

    @namespace url("http://www.mozilla.org/keymaster/gatekeeper/there.is.only.xul"); /* only needed once */
