How to remove the "Firefox updated" and come back as it was before I upgraded?

I don't want to change my security settings to allow Firefox to connect to the internet. I was perfectly happy with the Status Quo. Took a chance on the 'upgrade' and now I regret it! Why make my life miserable, trying to improve my life... never happened! Please, change it back!
